Investigator III - Surveillance as a qualification? That sounds easy for a justice involved individual, looking for people to rob, carjack, cat converters thieves, gang shooters, etc all would point to having the necessary surveillance experience -looking for victims and watching out for the police - as listed in the job opportunity listing if you have "working" for over a year.

Why not hire someone with a criminal record for a blue Democrat city inspector general position? Pretty much anyone who works for city government is stealing everything they can to enrich themselves anyway. The only difference is people with a record got caught.

I was actually toying with the idea of applying for that, but I figured I'd fall short on something they were looking for. Now I know what that is: I'm not a criminal. Now I want to apply just to be passed over in favor of a criminal. It only makes sense in this backwards city. Who better to investigate potential wrongdoing than an actual criminal? But that's not their reasoning. Their reasoning is that criminals are more likely to look the other way when told, and easier to control because of the built in dirt they have on them. "No one else will hire you. You're a criminal. Better do what we say if you want to keep this nice paying job." And people wonder why the IG never finds the blatant and heavily documented corruption in Shitcago. You could present them with hours of video, thousands of pages of documents, 50 witnesses, and a confession, and they still wouldn't find any wrongdoing when certain people are involved. It's all a joke. It's the illusion of checks and balances.

I am disappointed in the direction of this current administration is taking. Politicians have destroyed this great city and continue to do so. The Chicago Police Department was one of the finest in the world just a decade ago. Progressive politicians are a cancer and they need to be removed.

I was investigated by the Inspector General! After three years the case was turned over to IAD? Then three more years to go to police board where the Police Board Unanimously voted that no violations were found? Six years of time and money for nothing? Go ahead and hire a convict as an investigator! That will go over well during the hearing or appeals?
On the the hand I’m sure CPS is encouraging sex offenders (justice impacted individuals) to be teachers.

Congratulations on saying one of the dumbest things I've read here. You want internal affairs to be run by incompetent assholes? I think it would be nice if it had at least a few decent supervisors in the mix. Maybe decent supervisors would be able to call out the corruption or fix some of the many problems.

She has access to employees personal info, all businesses operating within the city, residents’ registered weapons and every other info you might need but don’t have access to as a police officer. Think OIG as a CPIC combined with IAD. City’s intel center with unchecked access to information. No one polices OIG as no one polices COPA.

So if they have access to information on all businesses operating within the city, what’s the delay in going after the PPP frauds? After all since they have all this information it should be easy to prove they lied to obtain these PPP loans. Is the delay due to incompetence or looking the other way? Btw for at least a few years the only residents required to register firearms are police. Let’s say they do have access to all this information, what are they doing to keep the city safe?

Can we get some context for this page? Because some of us try to maintain a healthy skepticism when it comes to the garbage we see on the Internet.
So, was this one of those outside sites with links to the actual application site, a complete fabrication, or was it legit and they took that part down once word got out? I'd hope it was one of the first two, but wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it's the third.

If a person has integrity they are not so easily swayed, regardless of the unit they are assigned to. Maybe CPD should do a better job of weeding out the sleazeballs in the hiring process.

No joke, lawyers will reach out to you and offer to join a class action against CPD in order to get your job if you scored well and weren't hired. So many lawsuits and BS makes it pretty impossible to wash folks out.

I'm trying to remember if IAD was ever this inept, corrupt and compromised before Yolanda Talley took the helm. I'm drawing a blank. Can't remember was IAD was this bad.
