Well Done Officers
We still like to see some of these awards. First, most of them are well deserved, and second, good news is hard to find because the media and politicians work so hard to hide it:
- Wednesday the Chicago Police Department honored officers for exceptional performance at the 63rd annual Chicago Police Recognition Ceremony.
"I know most of these awardees, if not all, will be the first to tell you they were just doing their jobs. They didn't do this for the recognition," said CPD Supt. Larry Snelling.
Officer Andre Balseca and his partners earned the superintendent's award for tactical excellence for an incident in July 2023 in which they stopped a gang shooting in a West Side neighborhood, taking fire themselves, and confiscated several weapons. "I would say it's nice to be recognized but we don't do it for this. You do it for your brothers and sisters," Balesca said.
The memory of fallen public servants was front and center. There were tributes to Officers Andres Vasquez-Lasso and Areanah Preston, who both lost their lives last year.

Sorry but why risk your lives stopping a gang shooting? If you can’t chase or stop offenders why get in middle of a gun fight between gangs. Let them have it out. Show up after count shell casings outline bodies and call it a day. Risking your lives in the “ community” that hates you is just plain foolish.

Tactical excellence award has been around for awhile, I got one 6-ish years ago and I know others who relieved it earlier.

Used to be every now and then the media and newspapers would have a positive story about the police. You could save an entire city today and it wouldn't even be mentioned. Very sad but become of this job and country.

The Superintendents Tactical Award requires that the officers involved walk into or stumble into a shootout, and with their mere presence, without even drawing their guns stop the shooting. And yes it is a made up award encouraging officers to NOT defend themselves, even while getting shot at, it is a form of bravery now a days.

When will Citizens demand to see complaints made against members of CTU for child abuse,battery and sexual misconduct.
Teachers must be held accountable. Complaints against teachers are from innocent children that were abused by CPS teachers.

Stop worrying about race. It's sad that you can't just appreciate all the officers being honored, and instead feel the need to break everything down by race. Racism only exists because minorities can't let go of the fake oppression narrative. Who fucking cares what race a police officer receiving an award is? Why does it matter? How is it helpful to praise one race over another? You're ridiculous and pathetic. Racism will never die because certain people feel the need to constantly separate themselves by race.

If you haven't got the clue yet, arresting them does about as much as you and your skinny jeans, chew spiting, backwards baseball cap wearing .1 gram of dope arrest of a hype, does. If you had a brain and understood what I was saying I was referring to policing the rats in their neighborhoods, not "ours".
The only reason they go to "your neighborhood" is to get away from all the police driving around and being proactive in their neighborhood.
Big bad copper who talks a big game but every district where coppers live is only being touched by these pos because those districts have no man power and the man power they do have has an average of 20+ years on and they stopped being proactive when they got to the district.

Get some knowledge and experience in life and police work and see the methods of the past arent working anymore, and haven't been since 2013. Just like the projects used to be .. containment and let them eat each other until there isn't anymore. Thanks for the novel.. but I have 26 years on. My original comment still stand. 26 years and I still go to work every single day and actually do something to earn a paycheck. Gangs, tac, beat cars, stint in narcotics and a task force team or two in my past. I guess you completely lack the ability to understand anything you read. The problem is taking every situation and injecting race into it, when it's 100% irrelevant and serves only to divide people. What relevance does the race of police award recipients have? What purpose does singling out a specific race for praise serve, when people of multiple races receive awards, other than to unnecessarily divide people? Your attempt to compare any of this to musical styles, as if it in any way helps your argument, is indicative of your complete lack of sense and intelligence.
