Brilliant
Denver taking the next "logical" step in policing:
The Denver Police Department is planning to deploy aerial drones as 911 first responders, The Denver Post reports.
Like other police units in the US, Denver law enforcement uses a fleet of drones for certain tasks, like mapping crime scenes and trailing suspects on the run. But now, the police force has its sights set on a new use case: responding to emergency calls.
The plan paints a dystopian picture of the future of policing, raising plenty of privacy and resource allotment concerns. Besides, is a tiny drone really the first thing you want to show up at the site of an accident?
But according to the cops, this is the way of the future.
Nobody wants the police. If the police do show up, no one wants them to do anything.
Might as well send a drone to hover about, film something, and do nothing.

One of 2 things will happen with this drone experiment.
-The trash who live there will shoot down the responding drones and sell off any salvageable parts.
-The drones will flee to Wyoming like many of Denver's human police have.

I can see it now.
From The Denver Post.
Extra!!! Extra!!!
Read All About It!!!
Denver Police Department Drone, while responding to a call, malfunctions and falls from the sky injuring 2yoa child playing in a backyard. The child was transported to the nearest hospital and listed in critical condition but stable.Drone fleet grounded till investigation completed.
What does Judge Dredd say ?
Arm the drones. Let them chase and shoot.
Arm them with missiles. That will get their attention.
Better yet weaponize them while they’re at it
Such is life in a shithole city...
Vote Democrat for more.
Too many California kooks moved to Denver metro area past 30 years.
Somehow science fiction has a way of predicting the future. Find the movie Judge Dredd and compare what the future cop would be like and what’s happening now.
The thoroughly inebriated, with the juices of technology enabled insulations experienced by our present century's budding generations is, indeed, intoxicating in it's illusional perceptions of safety.
While even RoboCop showed up at the scene, these timid 21st centurians scoff at the reckless foolishness of actually being there.
Why be there when you can be safe in your pod, with tech providing abundant visual and audible input for your considerations.
Plus, with an adequately audible speaker output on the drone, one can easily attempt to get the attentions of any silly humans daring to be there in their own flesh.
Add a bit of tech capability to communicate with said silly humans non-verbally, use your imagination as to what, and we gots ourselves the new century's mighty law enforcement warriors, all, presumably, sitting upon comfortable chairs and mesmorized by the no longer flickering flat screen monitors.
Perfecto!!!
Everyone gets to be a house mouse!!!
Yet, no one, well, mostly no one, gets to not contribute to patrol activities!!!
I respond to a shit ton of ghetto domestics in apartment buildings. I wonder if I can send a drone instead.
Now in Chicago, they'd use them to spy inside homes. Probably a few bosses would look into women's bedrooms too.
Cpd still can't legally fly drones outside. Its ridiculous but true.
All I hear is, "Pull !"
Future Lead Story.
The assailant was double-tapped by the responding autonomous drone.
Survival is unlikely. At this time, no court date is necessary.
Vital organs will be reassigned at the appropriate time.
That is all.
how will copa interview and then recommend the firing of a drone ????
More likely, CPD drones will be used by BIA to follow officers around and spy on them.
Fuck the Denver Police Department! Softest leadership in the nation
CAN I GET A WITNESS SAYS:
Another stupid democrat inspired idea, for certain.

Denver says their cops are paid a lot more than WY cops.
However, WY has no state income tax and a far lower cost of living.
At the end of the day, WY cops have more money in their pockets.
Makes a lot more sense than a helicopter, which is way more expensive, requires a trained pilot, is slower to get off the ground, and is too noisy to have any stealth advantage in pursuit. Incidentally, story on CWB has two ACLU-type wackos fighting license plate readers because fleeing criminals shouldn't have to worry about "big brother" and "dystopia" or something.
I'd gladly come to work if ED209 from Robocop is my partner lolol!
