Increased spending for a shrinking enrollment and failing students:
The Chicago Board of Education unanimously approved a controversial $9.9 billion budget Thursday amid concerns from Mayor Brandon Johnson, the Chicago Teachers Union, a fiscal watchdog group and some board members themselves.
The budget filled a $505 million deficit by cutting administrative costs, laying off central office staff and assuming hundreds of vacancies will go unfilled. Chicago Public School leaders said that the measures won’t cut classroom resources, but the budget was sharply criticized by the teachers union, which said hundreds of aides were laid off to the detriment of students.
Johnson, who had vowed he would not accept cuts to critical support staff, said the approved budget would need to change to his liking.
And correct us if we're mistaken, but this doesn't take into consideration the raises demanded by the CTU in upcoming negotiations where Conehead is expected to give away the store.

Where are the cuts in çentral office going to be? One area that needs to be totally wiped out is the CPS Local School Council (LSC) Relations Office.
This office is a complete waste of money, including every 2 years when LSC Elections and if you thought the Chicago election voting percentage was low at 33%, LSC Elections only get 5% of eligible voters.
One function of the LSC Relations Office is to oversee principal evaluations at every school every year. In 2023, only 36% of all LSCs performed principal evaluations. This allows principals to cruise freely and it allows for low academic schools with teachers getting the best ratings at failing schools.
What does CPS do at failing schools? They throw more money at them in hiring more and more administrators and support staff despite dwindling enrollments.
Another function of the LSC Relations Office is to make sure each LSC member completes their LSC training. This is done infrwquently and many LSC members are free to rubber stamp votes on budget transfers and each school's Internal Accounts.

CTU is a radical and unreasonable group that would not be tolerated anywhere, except in this garbage city.
So, they cut administrative costs. Hmm. Does that include cutting money for the weekly Communist Party Friday Fish Fry? Or the upkeep on SDG's home in Indiana? What about paying for her hair and makeup? If Conehead is spending 30k a month on grooming, her's must cost ten times that much.
How about close those under used schools?
Where's there's more teachers and staff than students.
Can we divide the budget by the number of students again for old times sake. Always found that number intriguing.

We are short money. But you got to give us raises cause we need the money. The homes outside of Chicago are very expensive.
No salary increases for CPS teachers and staff. If you don't like it, then leave. You are replaceable. Threaten a strike, do it. Your lap dog mayor will cave in as usual, but you will have to work for it. That's right "work" - look it up on google. I know its scary but you can do it. If not how about learning computer programing.
10 billion taxpayers dollars for a total failure of a public school system ! Declining enrollment, students well below the national average in all subjects, many completely failing, unable to read, write, or do basic math ! CPS is turning out a whole generation of functional illiterates ! CPS is no longer, nor has it been about education for a good while now ! Indoctrination centers ruining children’s lives, telling them lies and Dr. naming them into telling them that boys can be girls and girls can be boys, and so many lies about law-enforcement. Then kicking the police out of schools, they need to close those institutions rapidly. What a big waste of money, but then again, they obviously used taxpayers money to buy the mayoral election for a clown that can’t even look straight more lies.
