This might just go down as the most expensive summer in CPD history:
- What’s up with Larritorious passive-aggressive approach. Last night, first he sent a link to a YouTube video with a rah-rah speech then followed up with another email canceling RDOs from Sep 13 to 17 for Mexican independence weekend.
Potentially, there are how many day off groups that aren't going to see an actual Saturday or Sunday off since late July? Early August at least.
So much for looking out for Officers' mental well being.

I was thinking the same thing $$$$$ . They are down 40 homicides. That is what all the making everyone work every holiday, 12 hours and canceling days off.
They never did this in the old days.
All this work to make this department look legit when the other 362 days a year this place is a circus.

Two things, #1 can you immediately warn the troops not to eat those sandwiches provided by the department. Today, several guys from my company opened the sandwich bags only to find the entire or even parts of the sandwich to be moldy. Who knows how many officers didn’t bother to check the sandwiches before consuming them.
#2, any chance anyone knows why a black sgt from 002 was exempt from shaving? We had full on inspection today at Sox park where every single PO AND BOSS actually shaved and had their uniforms in order. This ridiculous sgt with his painted on beard and tailored shortsleeves was the exception to all this? How does that even fly. I hope these inspectors see this comment and how lousy it looks to the rest of us.

me to explain. Promotions are nearly impossible, you have to wait for an exam
To get announced, could be 2 years, could be 7. Then you take the exam and get put on a list comprising of 2k people, merit will steal a lot of those promotion spots. Getting a day off is nearly impossible in the summer, you need proof, a to-from and knee pads just to have a weekend with your family. Forced to live in the city and pay raises that are non existent-5 percent is shit. To me this job has no room for growth or any way to actually get ahead unless you work yourself to death with overtime. Tier2 pos are screwed beyond belief so pension aspect for them sucks.

Let me cancel your days off, make you work 12 hour shifts for 7 days straight, on foot post with one lunch break in full gear while wearing a clown cap and yellow clown vest . And if you didn’t enjoy that, watch me do it again and again all summer until October. Then watch me do it again on Christmas and new years. Fuck you little peons. Now watch me do some pushups and sleeve up on some recruit bitches. Want a day off? You must submit evidence you really need the day off signed by your doctor, priest, accompanied by paid for plane tickets and watch me still reject your request for a contractual day off little fucker.

They don't give a fuck about any of us and it will not change. Such a diverse command staff doing such a shitty job. It's no different on a district/watch level. It's destroying families, relationships and lives. Most of these cancellations are completely unnecessary and do absolutely nothing to improve "operational needs". Let the OT whores work it and let the ones who have lives and can live without extra money have a life. That follow up email was that fat piece of merit garbage Franklin Paz’s idea. Couldn’t just stfu after his double merit promotion to LT. Now he’s suing the city for “pushing numbers” which is exactly what he used to do. He had a hissy fit breakdown after his clout retired and he was moved from his golden spot. What a pathetic joke
Didn't you guys have days off cancelled five days running for July 4? Labor day? Memorial day? Mlk? Presidents day? Christmas? Thanksgiving?
Whoever is complaining is probably on the medical right now avoiding the DNC. Yet they are complaining about not having a weekend off. I work a beat car in patrol. I had a 7B furlough. I have not had any RDO cancellations this summer. If your on 4th watch you can always come back on the watch.
In regards to the Mexican Independence Day festivities the department allowed this group to take over the entire city and disrupt traffic and essential do whatever they please to do for as long as they want. This would have never been tolerated 15 years ago and this group would never try it. If it’s your RDO and they tell you you have to work this shit show tell them to fuck off and take the Spar. It’s just a matter of time that a copper gets killed at one of these events.

When being promoted meritoriously there should be class given called "Looking out for someone other than yourself". And that class should be repeated every time you get a merit promotion.

It appears mayor thinks Mexicans cannot have a civil celebration and are criminals. Forcing the Superintendent to cancel days off again. Next contract, triple time for any cancellation of days off .

Old schedule was better but too many crybabies
Tier 2 pension will screw a lot of guys. No more 20 and out. They will force you to stay on longer just to get a larger pension. You leave after 20 years you pension will be determined by 3 years at 10 year rate and 5 years at 15 year rate
