Well Deserved Murder

Not a vigilante killing....but no one is shedding any tears over this piece of garbage:

  • Sunday evening, somebody shot and killed Robie in the Morse Red Line station lobby. Given his long history of robbing, battering, and generally causing nothing but trouble in the city’s transit system, it seems like an appropriate exit.

[...] Early on January 13, 2018, long-time North Side bartender Eric “Julian” Hall fell down the stairs at the Loyola Red Line station. No one saw him fall, police said, and he continued to lie at the bottom of the staircase for quite some time, dead or dying. At some point, Robie and a 60-year-old man approached Hall’s body. They didn’t call for help. They didn’t check to see if he was ok. They stole his wallet, which contained cash and credit cards, and sauntered away. A passerby later discovered Hall’s body. He had suffered head trauma in the fall and was pronounced dead of his injuries.

Two days after stealing Hall’s wallet, Robie was arrested in Boystown because police recognized him as being wanted for a January 8th armed robbery at the Morse Red Line station. Robie was released on electronic monitoring and he was wearing his monitoring bracelet when officers later arrived at his home to arrest him in the Hall case, police said.

After serving a little time for stealing Hall’s wallet, Robie got arrested for robbing an off-duty CPD sergeant outside the Town Hall (19th) Police District. Two months after he got out of prison for robbing the cop, he got arrested again for robbing a CTA passenger at the Morse station.

CWB has a few other instances. If he wasn't directly targeted, it wasn't for lack of trying on his part. Someone was bound to shoot him for cause sooner or later. That it might have been accidental is just amusing.

Shouldn't his robbery spree ended at 019?

Recall watching it on a POD camera after it happen vividly. I was working that night in 019. The sgt was approached and surrounded by residence. They appeared to be distracted for a millisecond by him. Next thing you see is them running while they were chased. A short time later they were arrested by responding officers and the sgt. They attempted to rob but never did. I remember thinking if the sgt would have shot while chasing they would have been shot in the back running away. Scary situation 5 vs 1 and no immediate backup by yourself. Would the sgt have been charged with attempted murder or murder charges with the adrenaline up? I think I would have froze and not done a thing but who knows. All be safe and remember to look for each other to live to fight another day. Tax payers don't have to worry about this POS anymore.

O.T. 14th District

If an outside unit requests a paper car for an accident, send them a paper car. No need to lecture us on the G.O. pursuit policy. Real police work is sometimes messy.

Also, the OEMC dispatcher should keep their mouth shut. We know what to do.

The female OEMC dispatcher in the 14/12 district zone is out of control. She went over the air and said the outside unit that got in to a crash while pursuing a stolen motor vehicle did not follow general orders. What the fuck is up with these OEMC dispatchers?

Where are CPD supervisors when these dispatchers are refusing calls for service? You have sergeants, lieutenants, watch commanders who should be monitoring the zone. How about that street deputy? No backup from the bosses?

Speaking of shootings/murders, how many more will take place on the northwest side before that dumbo Snelligan realizes the mistake he made putting that goof Vanna in 16? You can’t deploy your resources while your selling houses - including to John Hein .

OT. I understand the sentiment “vote no on ALL judges”. And I’m 99% there. But I have one nagging question. What happens when they’re not retained? Are they bounced out immediately and some democrat (Preckwinkle or Evans ) gets to appoint a replacement? Or do they stay until the next municipal election (and again somebody would be slated by Preckwinkle?). Seems like there’s a high chance the replacement could be same or worse.

Can somebody who really KNOWS the process answer, Please no guesses, or troll thoughts.

They are appointed by the machine. Everyone know that. Generally the appointed ones are a higher quality lawyer that is a half political hack.

Appointed versus slated? So the day after election Preckwinkle (the current machine) can appoint them and they’re in court right away? Or are they slated for next election and have to theoretically run even though the result would be the same? I’ve seen stories in past where Supreme Court has appointed judges when there are vacancies so don’t know if that’s what happens here. But again same net result.

But what I’m wondering is if there’s actually some good non woke and non SAFET act loving judges that we vote out, that the machine would like to see gone, and now they can replace them if they’re not retained. Probably a pointless question.
