Ending the Year
HeyJackass.com has a post up explaining the end-of-year stats and how they change over the next few weeks:
- With mere hours left in 2024, we wanted to post our usual note to
illustrate how the year-end totals are accounted for and how best to
compare this year to years past.
Past year-end totals reflected on this site account for resolved death investigations, found bodies, and late passings that can and will occur for many years after the clock strikes midnight on Jan 1st. We apply those incidents toward the time of occurrence, not the date of death. Other agencies, such as the CPD, choose to add those resolved death investigations, found bodies, and late passings to the year in which the death was recorded.
They list examples about how the year-end-totals climb, so what you see on the site isn't the actual totals for a while yet.
Currently, Chicago is at 608 (don't believe the Department stats - they've been lying about those longer than we spent on the job).
Reminder - For the Ghoul Pools, be sure you define what constitutes the winner before paying out - First RD Number pulled or First by Time of Death Declared by an actual Medical Professional.

Leaks say business is very very good....
Whatever the numbers mean they’re not high enough need more production from the hoods
Either way, 011 will take the prize.
would be nice to see the city post the statistics of the offenders from all these murders,,, you know,, like show the race of who the killers are
If last shift was any indication, I'm betting final number of 615 for 2024
Biden and Conehead have something in common..they are the worst President and Mayor in history!!
Off Topic: I was reading about NYPD preparation for New Years Eve. They have numerous "Drone Teams" doing surveillance in Times Square and around the city. Does CPD have drones monitoring large gatherings, protests, etc.? I made Detective in 1990 and we still had manual typewriters in the Area. There was one electric typewriter that you had to get in line to use. In 1997 I talked to a Detective in Dallas regarding a case I had and he said he would email me the information. When I told him we didn't have emails his response was "you're kidding me". Technology wise we are usually 5-10 years, if not more, behind normal police departments.
Leaks says business is Abooming, just look at his new yellow gold Rolex with a bezel diamond pave dial, and all his new cars. He's praying that 2025 brings even more business than 2024.
This can be accomplished by better marksmanship. The current 18% kill rate is abysmal.
Time for an FBI take over of the CPD!
Give me the 12th district for 100. Thanks, bookie is out of work since draft
Kings opened.
Shout out to the tact guys in 019 for locking up an 86 year old lady!
Conehead said that crime is down. Well, yeah jaywalking is down and Library non-returns are down.
We also have ACLU Illinois in Illinois (much more militant than national ACLU). They got a law passed in 2014 or 2015 prohibiting use of drones for monitoring large gatherings (and other uses not specifically listed in the law). ILACP was finally able to get a modification in the last couple years, so such use is now allowed. Not sure if CPD is actually doing it yet, however.
A hoodrat from "The Jungle" will die right after midnight. 024 takes the prize!
come on lucky 011....
