So this guy is on the news whining about getting pulled over by CPD:
- Chicago police officers have pulled over Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability President Anthony Driver, Jr., five times in less than a year, even as he works to craft new rules that would limit the ability of officers to make certain kinds of stops.
Turns out he's the head of one of the forty "oversight" agencies that are looking to jam up cops. Why would officers pick on this guy of all people?
- Driver told WTTW News officers stopped him twice for having an expired license registration sticker and once on suspicion of making an unsafe lane change. Driver said officers refused to give him a reason for the other two stops. Driver was not ticketed during any of the stops, he said.
Oh. So in 60% of the stops, Driver was driving unsafely or driving an improperly licensed vehicle - all legit reasons. And using their discretion as authorized by State Law, they didn't ticket him for that 60%. The other 40% of the time, they didn't ticket him either, but he claims that they didn't tell him why he got pulled over.
Seems ungrateful that he's batting 100%, but this is exactly why we've been suggesting tickets get written 100% of the time - let a judge sort it out.

The question to be asked is where did the over 100 million dollars in federal, state & city funds go? What groups got the money and why. They don’t mention that. Where would this be listed. Remember those grants/funds that he is redirecting was once your money that you paid into taxes. What benefits do you receive?

As most of us true city employees know……if the plates are up to date, the vehicle has a current city sticker, and the insurance is current. And I stop drawing attention to myself while driving like a fool?
I will not have the occasion to be pulled over by any law enforcement agency?

If I was him, I would be asking myself……why was I stopped and released? Guess that’s good police work? Officer descretion, to correct the traffic infraction or write the citation. I agree with SCC, write all the tickets we can! Make them all come into court or hearings! It seems this guy is trying to be stopped so he has something to tell the media about?

Anthony Driver had been playing victim for some time now. When he first became president of the Community Commission he alleged that he was robbed. He publicly expressed his sympathy for the kid that robbed him, but he bashed the police about how he was treated during the investigation. Fuck Driver!

Worked with a guy in 14 that stopped cars for traffic and would not write any tickets. After the fourth stop I approached the driver and asked for his license after dummy gave it back to him. I wrote the ticket,. Get back in car and guy is all pissed off. Says “it was my stop, I decide if he gets the ticket”. Told him to fuck off. Told him to not stop any cars if he didn’t plan on taking enforcement action. He said he was going home. He cried to the boss and dropped a slip for the last couple hours. I would say nowadays to not even stop the damn car. If you do, write the damn ticket.
CWBChicago said they investigated the Talley loan, and it was her niece. Driver from CCPSA is a Jr., the loan does not indicate the recipient is a Driver Jr. Just sayin'

I’m the police and I’ve also been pulled over at least 12 times within the last 6 months. Every one of the stops had reasonable suspicion or probable cause. I’m white and all the officers were black or Hispanic. Every one of the stops was legit.
They are present for city council and other events they take place in city hall. They are more likely to be captured by news cameras than those assigned to districts.
