Stop Wasting Money
Remember, Illinois is currently $159 BILLION (with a B) in debt.
But the politicians find time for this:
- Starting in January, people will be able to vote online at www.ilsos.gov/stateflag on whether to keep the current design, go with one of the 10 finalists or go back to one of two past versions: the 1918 Centennial Flag or the 1968 Sesquicentennial Flag.
This time and money waster will result in untold millions of dollars spent for:
- state flag purchases for state buildings
- signage all over the place
- decals and such on state vehicles
- stationary reprinting for all official correspondence and documentation
And you can bet some politician has their cousins or son-in-law starting up a printing business right now for the contracts.
If we remember in January, we'll remind everyone to "vote early and vote often" to just keep the old flag and tell the idiots in Springfield to get serious about the debt instead of spending money on this crap.

I checked out the flag options and don't see a burning dumpster or a sinking ship, so I'll have to vote for the current flag.

Yes a new State flag is needed. The flag would depict the Chinese who are coming to build their factories and buy up our farmland. Also depicted would be those who are coming from other states seeking abortions as JB said Illinois will be an oasis in the midwest for those seeking one. Also depicted will be JB and the Democrats in a trough snorting up Illinoisans tax dollars, while in the background smart Illinoisans can be seen leaving in their U-Hauls. And the new motto on the flag will be “Illinois-Land of Leaving”.

We have noted, over the years, the way this phenomenon turns out to be the way of things, in all things... There seems to be nothing but grift. No matter where you look, some individual or group of individuals is on the take, (depending on what situation you are regarding).
Medicine, judicial, marketing, business, education, the government, the media, the military, the police; so much corruption in so many places all at one time.
And it's not new... no, these things have been ever the case. It seems to not have been visible the way it now is. We have always been fucked over by people we couldn't see, and thus couldn't stop. It seems to be intrinsic, a part of the state of things, and no amount of exposure will at this point have any effect on that prevalence.
Apparently, people of honour and integrity are now, and have always been, in very short supply. It is a simple thing to observe that, in the case of things like politics or big business, no self-respecting person will have anything to do with any of it, so you are always selecting from the B-team, so to speak.
Obviously, if this is how the thing is structured, then there is an inevitable result baked in. Just a matter of time. It would seem that time is now.
I can't forget the natural gas power plant that was supposed to be built in Ontario, to replace a coal-fired one of some vintage. The project, after the usual nonsense, was cancelled. There was, astonishingly, a CAN$453 million-dollar penalty for that cancellation, paid to the developers by the taxpayers.
For years, I wondered how a premier could look at this deal, note the terms (especially the bit about the cancellation fees), and conclude that this was a really good deal for the people who hired that premier. Only after much reflection did it emerge that the point was to launder that money, not build the plant. The plant was never going to be built, but those millions had to go to the right place...
That pattern repeats, over and again, and now it seems that 'foreign aid', far from being the right thing to do, is just another way of laundering billions of dollars in broad daylight.
Makes in hard to gather much enthusiasm for things.

Update on the city hall fire alarm. Said to be an electrical fire on the cook county side in a document storage room which was quickly put out So there goes some evidence I suppose before tom homan gets here.
Supposedly there was a lot of smoke not sure what color the smoke was so we don't know if a new mayor has been selected yet or not stay tuned

To be fair the IL state flag is pretty bad.
Why do these Idiot politicians keep allowing signs to be posted everywhere? Nobody can walk 5 feet without being confronted by a sign telling everyone what to do. This is visual garbage. Morons wasting taxpayer dollars. Everywhere looks like the ghetto with all these ugly, stupid, useless regulatory signs. The average politician has the brain of a Chimpanzee.
Was at Stroger Hospital today and the first thing I thought of was the cost of running the place and wasteful spending. The ER was loaded with migrants, the homeless and 12 year old girls ready give birth. I axed a security guard for directions and all I got was "haw?" in response. Made me sick.
