Most on this list were never ever the police .. so they qualify either, else its for cheating and or being book smart, which is good until a situation does go like the book said it would go.

Late Thursday? Late for you maybe, some of were barely 2 hours into our tours and midnight people were probably just waking up.
No one else qualified? Yea I heard the same rumor too about some career house mice who thought they were going to get made. Aint happening. 20 or 30 years of working inside is no merit, that means you're just a civilian impersonating a cop.

If you scale a 6 foot fence, do 82 push ups/92 sit-ups, run 2 miles in11:54, no IOD and only forced medical for 10 days due to Covid, only exonerated CR’s, all CIT qualifications, carbine qualified, officer friendly, peace circle, New Mexico tech trained, TLO, as a start you can be on the list. Then those officers do Thunderdome with each other. The tickets should sell for $200 and proceeds go to the Chaplin.

From unit to unit and makes merit out of 544. It’s all legit folks. Sad thing is, they can never figure out why these people can’t excel in their new positions.
With this class are currently at 116 on the Lt list. Lots of retirements and promotions before the next Lt class in September so the final class off this list should reach to around 140. That is the historic norm for a Lt exam.

I’d agree. I’ve never felt stress and pressure the way I did when I first made Lt and was sent to a shit district where TRR’s kept rolling in and shootings and chases. It came very close to getting me. Things are a little different now with chases almost non existent and coppers not being as proactive, but it can still be very stressful. You’re the one everyone looks to for the answer and to make sure everything gets done the right way. The buck stops with you and your name is on everything. In the end it’s just a job tho. Don’t let it eat u up like it did me back then.

Who cares?!?!? The guys and gals bitching about anyone on any list, go in each day and you control your day and how it goes
If you like her or not, ask anyone who she supervised at SDI or Homan, she is good people. She is fair and takes care of her people. Rather have a supervisor who knows how to treat the troops than a company tool.
Lets have them list their "merit worthy" actions that made them eligible for such a promotion.

The whole merit board is made up of people who have multiple merit promotions. They will NEVER make a merit LT who was not merit Sgt. Facts
At the end of the day, these merits are your bosses. That’s why you have to beat ‘em and score well on the test. It can be done! My motivation for doing well was not having these dogs telling me what to do. Now I delegate and ensure that the work gets done.
These rapid tests are even worse for the regular working copper. The connected score in the top 50 every test. They need to keep these lists up as these are the people who might know what they are doing - Having the tests more often just allows the connected to get ahead by score. Its like a back door merit system
Absolutely. PO’s that couldn’t pass a dicks or sergeants test and were promoted by merit-each time- somehow ace the lieutenants test where the competition is infinitely tougher (the legitimate rank order promotions). It’s a joke.
