Mike Needs Money
The feds looking for a sizable amount from Madigan:
Federal prosecutors say former Illinois House Speaker Michael J. Madigan should forfeit $3.1 million for the nearly decadelong bribery conspiracy involving ComEd that a jury convicted him of last month.
The feds filed their request Friday with U.S. District Judge John Blakey, who is expected to hold a hearing on the matter June 9. That hearing is set to take place four days ahead of Madigan’s June 13 sentencing, also before Blakey.
The judge gave lawyers in the case until the end of the day Friday to file other post-trial motions, which could serve as a preview of the issues Madigan will raise on appeal. Madigan’s defense attorneys filed a request later in the day for acquittal or a new trial, insisting that “Michael Madigan is not corrupt.”
A jury of his peers says he is corrupt though. Extensively so, along with a bunch of other people currently serving time.
The amusing part is that the money he took was actually spread amongst almost half-dozen other people and a law firm. That was the trick - ComEd paid the law firm and Madigan pocketed a share as the "rainmaker" partner, because who wouldn't hire a law firm with the Speaker of the House's name on the door?
So Mike might need some commissary money while serving time if this fine sticks.

Just like Eddie Burke they are jumping up and down celebrating at the neighborhood drinking spot, saying what a great job they did locking up old man. This has been going on for a long time and they get them when they are old and think they are really doing a great job. Come on guys. This is ridiculous. Make Eddie Burke make Mike Madigan pay a fine that’s enough. You don’t have to put them in jail. It serves absolutely no purpose. How about the feds actually do the job coming into Chicago look at what just happened downtown look at all the people being killed number one in homicide in the United States the city of Chicago there are much better things they could be doing.

This is where someone starts a go-fund me account in Madigan's good name. All of the money he has in shoeboxes starts getting funneled his way excluding 10 percent off the top of course.
Madigan can afford it. Probably worth 30 million or more.

I have a cousin who did less than a year in minimum security federal prison for fixing contracts among government bidders.
He was miserable and as prisons go he was in the best environment.
Older prisoners and non violent offenders. He described it as low level hell. Open bay, bunk beds, little privacy.
He got greedy.
I think the $4.3M and a 75% monthly pension check would cure the depression. I would imagine a home on a body of water someplace warm would give her a safe place to hide from the evils of life. A safe room could be built in. Possibly too fragile of a personality to do police work and survive?
As a "Whistleblower", maybe the city should have let her work 2nd watch in a district of her choice instead of midnights or some inside job. Of course, she could have discovered the inner scams by the district favorites?? Cost $4.3M for that stupidity and huge money from our pension and nothing more from her.

Look at all the friends of Daley and Emanuel who invested city pension money, made hundreds of millions and paid back pennies to the pension funds.
