U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin announced in a video message Wednesday that he will not seek a sixth term in office.
Durbin (D-Illinois) was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1996 and has been reelected four times, most recently in 2020. The East St. Louis native began his political career after getting elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1982 representing the district that covers Springfield.
Durbin, 80, currently serves as the minority whip in the Senate and is the longest serving senator in Illinois’ history.
Which is shameful beyond compare.
Now we'll have to deal with eighteen months of Fata$$, Crimesha and lord knows who else jockeying for a chance to disgrace Illinois even further.

Governor Porky Pritzker (Dem-Il) was roasted for over 10 minutes, the subject of scorn and ridicule, for over 10 minutes on the Greg Gutfeld Show Fox News on Wed 23 Apr 25 which can be seen on Youtube. Starts at 3 minutes from the start of the show. Gutfeld sees what the Illinois voters fail to see. Gutfeld must read SCC! Good to see him mock Illinois politicians.

Possible Scenario: Senator Durbin resigns. Governor JB appoints HIMSELF as replacement. This would put now Senator(!) JB in Washington and enhance JB's Presidential /Vice Presidential aspirations in 2028 or 2032.

Juliana Stratton dropped a campaign video at 0500 today about running for his spot.
Never voted for him. Problem is, any office that requires a candidate running state-wide only needs to campaign in, and win, Cook County. He had a (D) and that was all that mattered. When was the last time he conducted a townhall, or a Q & A, that wasn't a scripted one-on-one? So-long.

It's really unbelievable if you think about it. How many years was he in office? Is Illinois actually in any better shape??? I don't think so. Chicago is the murder capital of the country. CPS is a cluster. Our property taxes are among the highest in the country. City of Chicago is billions in debt. Pensions are way underfunded. We have tens of thousands of illegals that are going to be a drain on the system for decades to come. Criminals are treated better than police and taxpayers. Chicago is going to lose the Bears to Arlington Heights. Businesses are fleeing faster than the rats off the Titanic.
