The Return of Station Security?

Great building security there guys:

Seems someone not the police wandered into a District building and proceeded to film and broadcast their trespassing in the non-public areas of what should be a secured building.

Comments claim this is 012, but we don't know. We do recall years ago 003 used to prop the back doors open for ventilation and the main door to the lockup didn't work at all. Plenty of other stations used to prop open doors in the pre-McCompstat days. We didn't even need a door code for years of VRI on the west side, even after they installed the locks....it took months to repair broken ones.

But someone roaming the back hallways?

Happened in 001 not too long ago but they arrested him after they realized it. Anybody can walk in, uniforms are not required since most people keep their uniform in their locker and nobody ever wears their id cards. Also nobody at the doors. So… wait for the eventual theft/attack as more people find out the house mices are not real police officers and are too scared to confront anyone.

Someone last week walked into 001 and spoke to a P.O with two years on who was working the desk in 001 on days and she let him walk right in. He wandered upstairs to the commanders office and asked for some keys. Low and behold they gave him the keys to the supply closet where after wandering around for about an hour a Sgt finally called him out and had him arrested. The two year wonder is still on the desk not learning a damn thing and no discipline was taken on anyone involved.

The old police stations had no locks on the doors. You could just walk in through the back door or garage. I don’t remember anyone just waltzing in. In those days it was well understood by the dirtbags that it would be akin to standing in a RR crossing after the gates came down.

Every last one of those assholes working the desk or hanging around it need to be hit with a CR for cowardice for not immediately putting bracelets on that savage. For those of you curious, dude was NOT arrested.

This could’ve been absolutely tragic had Dude had aspirations to be famous, yet not a single copper reacted properly. The Desk Sergeant - tasked with running the show - was particularly useless and needs to be made an example of for inattention to duty in addition to being a total pussy.

And don’t tell us he’s a regular “harmless crazy” or just a Zebra code… if that was the case a MINIMUM of a 72 hour Petition of Involuntary Admission was required, not just letting this pooch walk out after punking all of you in grand fashion. Only it’s painfully obvious that none of you clowns know dick about being the police.

Absolutely fucking pathetic. I pray you chumps don’t react the same way in the event someone home invades you.

Thankfully the Big Man upstairs was looking out for us and CPD dodged a bullet with this; we’re not burying one (or more) of our own.

This department is run by incompetent idiots and their incompetence trickles down to the rest of the department. The Chicago Police Department is an absolute joke and it shows how poorly it’s run on a daily basis. The quality of bosses and PO’s is at an all time low, so this should not surprise anyone.

Nothing like leaving the stations on secured you go to a suburban police station. They have bulletproof glass. They have it lock down well because they wanna protect the police officers, unlike the city of Chicago, which has zero respect for police typical Democratic control.

There is NOTHING secure about the Chicago police stations. If you want to understand how a properly secured police station should operate just go to any suburb surrounding Chicago, it's like trying to get to a cashier teller at a currency exchange.

this certainly looks like one of the newer buildings. However I got an email from the DSS in 005 claiming a similar incident happened in that station. We may have a serial trespasser here. be safe boys and girls.

Strange thing is that Dick Durbin and the Democrats are now calling this misdemeanor trespass through an unlocked door an "insurrection" and "attempt to subvert democracy". Crazy.

I was surprised not a single officer cared to take action(make the trespass arrest). No trespass signs are posted everywhere. The savage then confronts the DSS about the lack of security in the building and the DSS appeared like he couldn’t careless. Are we really that far demoralized that one gives a f- anymore. Interesting times we live in.

pull a warrant for the owner of the account, go arrest the guy for trespassing...

if he claims it wasn't him then do a little more investigation throw him in jail for a while till he gives up whoever the hell it was make their lives a living fucking hell, so no one else ever decides to do this again and then lock the goddamn door

Every parking lot should be secure.Every station should be secure. Every facility should be secure. If these facilities were secured it would stop the early ducks though. No more leaving early for the house mice and bosses. See Thor Soderburg. RIP.

Just like anyone and everyone comes in and walks across the lobby to go to the bathroom..or sleeps in the station lobby in the dead of winter...anyone one of these nut cases can carry weapons or bombs...the city waits until something happens before they do anything...by then its to late.

LOL Chill out Sgt Hank Voight. Dude isn’t scared of a Class A misdemeanor trespass arrest for walking thru an unlocked door. The Branch judge would laugh that arrest right out of court. The district station is not the US Capitol building. Now go back to watching reruns of “Chicago PD”.

I once was working in 006, someone knocked on the door of the community room. I didn't open it, didn't even flinch. The PO working SDI was upset that I didn't let the people in and he had to get up and open the door himself. If it is an emergency exit, I won't open it, even if Sadia Carter or some other lazy PO demands I do so. No clue who is on the otherside of a door without windows.

have no fear, remember when then supt, weiss had the secret service do a report on police station and parking lot security after that p.o. was shot and killed in the old 7th district lot,,,,,,, probably the easiest analysis ever done which stated: Chicago Police station security = NONE

It’s 012 3rd watch. 012 side door has notoriously broken down numerous times. You have to pull it shut because it doesn’t close properly. The hank God the city spent all that money on those glass enclosures. The men are tough talking fraidy pants.

I live next to a border suburb. You can’t even get in the front door to ask the desk a question. You have to call them on the phone in a vestibule, where they then tell you if they can assist you or whether you need to go somewhere else. If you do get past Go, it’s like being at a west side currency exchange, wall to wall bulletproof plexiglass and a carousel to shove your paperwork to them.

Where was all of this tough talk when 12 was forced to open their doors to illegals and their families during the night while they sold drugs and p**** outside the station during the day? Now we all up in arms about charging a citizen with a misdemeanor for walking thru an unlocked door?

Nothing surprises me while Superintendent Snelling is in charge. He’s too focused on bump card and uniform pants instead of officers’ safety.

Walk into the small lobby inside the Harvey Police Station. There is no front desk or desk personnel. If you stand there long enough, someone will greet you utilizing an intercom system. You’ll never meeting the person.
