Madigan loses his first attempt to avoid prison while his appeals move forward:
Former Illinois House Speaker Michael J. Madigan’s request to remain free while appealing his conviction has been denied by the judge who sentenced him earlier this year to 7½ years in prison.
U.S. District Judge John Blakey wrote in a 44-page ruling that Madigan failed to raise a “substantial” question of law that would result in a reversal or new trial on all counts for which the former speaker faces imprisonment in two months.
“The fate of Madigan’s entire motion” actually rides on “routine, and meritless” objections to his wire fraud convictions, the judge wrote, adding that the former speaker “clings to false hope.”
“Frankly, Madigan does not come close to meeting this high burden, and thus, even if he were able to prevail on all issues directed at his other counts of conviction, he would still have to serve the 90-month concurrent sentences he received,” Blakey explained.
13 October is the big day.

But Mikey hired EXPERIENCED Appellate attorneys, they read everything every appalate judge EVER wrote.

Lisa "Booger Eater" Madigan was the attorney general for the state of Illinois for 16 years.
1. So the question today is: “What did Lisa know, and when did she know it?”....God Father movie "We don't talk business at the dinner table" defense..
2. After ten years in office, Lisa "Booger Eater" Madigan had prosecuted only fourteen public officials for corruption: half were for DUI, reckless driving, or substance possession and she lost close to half of those cases.
3. Will she attend ..."Booger Eaters Anonymous " to avoid prison and trial ?
Will Daddy flip on her....after all why should he take the fall.
Will she run for office again....Why Not ? She's a democrat
Will she hook that Great Green Booger she been chasing all these years....

Remember, every member of the Illinois House and Senate was aware of his crimes and others. Nobody said a word. Business people all over the state participated in these crimes, not one came forward.

In a perfect world, they would tack on another 6 months just for asking...quit stalling Mike. Your sentence isn't as long as you deserve it to be. The court has already shown you enough mercy...you used your posistion to attain personal power and wealth. Why shouldnt you rot in prison?

Governor Porky cannot pardon Federal convictions. Only President can pardon Federal Convictions.

he will flee on a "borrowed " passport to a county without extradition within 90 days
Give him a little time to develop some medical condition that will be used to delay his reporting to prison...after all, you cannot expect someone to be ready for that while "sick," right?
If there was Justice, his ass should have been taken into custody upon conviction, just like Diddy.
I wonder...wherever he goes...Will Saputo's in Springfield or Palermo's on 95th St. be allowed to make deliveries to him??
