Ninety-One Years

A good start:

  • Jeffon Williams, who shot two Chicago police officers during a 2020 traffic stop, later telling an investigator, “F*** that officer, I hope he dies,” has been sentenced to 91 years in prison.

A jury convicted Williams on August 14 of nine felony counts, including multiple charges of attempted murder, and Judge Steven Watkins on Monday handed down his punishment: two consecutive 45-year prison terms for the attempted murders and a consecutive one-year sentence for unlawful use of a weapon. Williams must serve 85% of the attempted murder sentences.

Williams was 19 years old when he shot two CPD officers in Homan Square early on August 30, 2020. At the time of the shooting, he was on bail for pending burglary and stolen motor vehicle cases.

Eighty-five percent works out to roughly 77 years. If they count back from the date of the shooting, he'll be ninety-six....pending a democrat governor pardoning him after everyone who remembers is retired or deceased.

Was this a FEDERAL prosecution? Chicago doesn’t have an 85% mandatory time-served requirement. Here it’s day for day get-out-of-jail as fast as possible, even so far as giving fair time for ankle-monitoring credit, which no one monitors or checks anyway.

O.T Why is the HQ parking lot being used as storage for marked vehicles ! The lot seems to be filling up with them and then you get to hear the F/1 parking lot Nazi squawking on the car speaker that the lot is full ! How about just block the entrance or you enjoying talking shitty to fellow officers ! The lot was bad enough for parking even without the construction but now storing deployment vehicles even more deployment vehicles is ridiculous!!

Hopefully someone here can clarify with authority, but I believe for attempted/murder cases in IL Judges are given leeway to enact 85% instead of 50%, & serving multpile convictions Consecutively instead of the too-common Concurrently.

Exactly. In Illinois a prisoner, just about automatic, gets a 50% reduction for good behavior . Illinois has released other cop killers. There is no such think as a life sentence in Illinois.

Doubt it was a federal case but in Illinois a conviction for attempted murder the 85% goes into affect. Happened to my son as the badguy was also charged and convicted of both Att Murder and Aggravated Battery and give 50 years for each. Was later reduced to 50 years because appellate court considered the aggraved battery a lesser and included offense but let stand the Att Murder with the 85% of the 50. Think it has to do with Aat Murder while using a firearm

AI Overview

+3
In Illinois, attempted first-degree murder with a firearm is a Class X felony with a potential sentence of 6 to 30 years in prison, to which a mandatory firearm enhancement of 15 to 25 years or natural life is added, depending on the specific circumstances of firearm use.
Additional penalties are applied based on firearm use, including a 15-year enhancement for being armed, 20 years for personally discharging the firearm, and 25 years to natural life for personally discharging a firearm and causing great bodily harm, permanent disability, disfigurement, or death. This could result in a total sentence ranging from 21 to 45 years for attempted murder while armed with a firearm. Illinois' "Truth-in-Sentencing" laws require offenders to serve 85% of their sentence

OT what's the latest on ICE Agent shooting today? The democrats are stirring the pot, hoping for riots. The same people that justified a 6' +" male black that shot an unarmed 5' 2" female white for trespassing. No video or audio showing the male black attempting to deescalate, warn trespassers that deadly force would be used??? Very Interesting.

Good shooting up in Minnesota great job by ICE. The Chicago police dept will also have the back of ICE, we are the quiet majority of cops who back ICE.

Off-topic. Attended compstat today and garbage Hein spoke about DC Betancourt. Everyone that knows him knows that his speech was self-serving and disingenuous. Snelling could not be a worse judge of character. Many people have told the superintendent that he’s a goof and yet he still sticks by him. Hein is damaging this department and supe is oblivious.
