A seven-time convicted felon on pretrial release for allegedly bringing a stolen gun onto the Red Line this summer is now accused of sexually attacking a female CTA employee at the 95th Street station Sunday afternoon.
The attack occurred at about 4:30 p.m. while the woman was working at the 95th Street Red Line, according to a Chicago Police Department report. Officers assigned to the station as part of the department’s recent public transit security surge were already on site when the victim ran to one of them and reported the attack.
Seven times convicted - imagine if there were a "three strikes" law on the books.
Then imagine there was cash bail for multiple felonies.
Then imagine winning a million dollars.

These are hardly what I would call isolated incidents when they happen on a daily basis. Just saw on the news that some guy was killed on CTA property at Clark/Lake.
The biggest/baddest M/1 officers that love to work need to be assigned the 79th and 95th Red line stations. A paddy wagon needs to be parked in front of both and filled up every shift. A sgt with all pre trial release forms needs to also be on scene All day.
Not to worry, Brandon has got crime on the CTA under control, just ax him.

Why would all of the officers that would be (hypothetically) assigned
to patrol the red line need to be Black? I would think that those
riders who have no choice to get around the city at night except
for public trans. would be grateful to simply see a uniformed officer
on the train lines, regardless of the race of the officer.

I retired out of Mass Transit . You are absolutely correct. Lock them up. Let the district process them. Keep the POs at the stations. Sweep the trains every time they get in. Throw the pissbums out or lock them up. Throw the assholes off the train. Keep doing it every day. All the time. Forever.
I agree. That's what they did on Madison/Skid Row. A perpetual wagon just made the rounds. Hospital, Detox and ME's office.
