Clear Those Intersections
One of our sustained disciplinary findings was over a crash:
Five people were injured after a CPD squad car was involved in a car crash in West Garfield Park.
Two Chicago police officers were responding to a call when a driver failed to yield to their sirens at an intersection in West Garfield Park and caused a crash, Chicago police said.
The officers were driving in a marked squad car with their lights and sirens on just after midnight in the 3800 block of West Washington Boulevard. A 42-year-old man driving a gray SUV failed to yield to the officers and crashed into the squad car, according to police. Three parked cars also were damaged in the crash.
The driver and two male passengers were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with minor injuries. Two officers were in good condition at a local hospital.
Sounds like no one was seriously hurt, which is a good thing.

Training will now be geared for Chicago bad drivers who follow none of Illinois 625/ilcs.

Detective JJ Bitendenbinder (sp) would say the faster you speed through an intersection the less likely you will be struck by another vehicle.

I learned over 30 years ago that use of your emergency lights and siren request the right of way, they do not automatically grant it to you. You must only proceed when the other driver has yielded to you and it is safe to continue.
Hopefully I.D the Barbie Sgt who got her answers from the DC didn’t have to handle that crash. As worthless as a bag of rocks. Actually the bag of rocks might be worth more than the cement she got injected into her lips.

I seem to remember that some tact cars had air horns. This was attacked as "racist," so is probably disallowed now. Better that the 4 AM stumbler on Grand Ave. gets ***THUMP*** over onto a nearby rooftop so illegal 20-member family gets a huge GL check to buy new window shades for when that Census comes by.
