They arrested their way out of a situation?
Nine people were arrested and nearly three dozen citations were issued after large groups of mostly teens gathered in downtown Naperville on Monday evening.
The gathering began around 5 p.m. June 1 along the Washington Street corridor between Chicago and Van Buren avenues. Anticipating large crowds, the Naperville Police Department deployed multiple teams of officers throughout the downtown area to deter criminal activity and maintain public safety.
Five juveniles were arrested during the event. Charges included battery, assault, obstructing identification, criminal trespass to state-supported land, illegal possession of cannabis, illegal possession of tobacco by a minor, disobeying a peace officer and interfering with a peace officer.
Golly, if word of this gets out, it could completely revamp policing as we know it!

It appears that the liberals had had enough of the troublemakers and decided to take a proactive approach, unlike, dare I say, Chicago.
5 arrests? We do that within minutes. The problem is with us those 5 arrests will come with 10 plus TRRs which immediately pull those officers off the street. Our policies hinder the enforcement of these events. Curfews take hours to complete, arrests of juveniles take hours. We cannot pull the resources we dedicate to these events off to handle the paperwork that the policies in place dictate.

Naperville - too little too late. My wife and her friends already has said downtown Naperville is a no go zone due to these issues in the past. The Naperville walk and stores were fun to visit with our children but the Hate Has No Home crap resonated too long. As I said, you addressed it too little and way too late.

Ribfest has been cancelled permanently since 2024. Sad because that was actually a safe family event to attend every year, even the couple of years it was moved to the fairgrounds.

Dont forget to impound the cars. You have to hit them in the pocket to make it all work. The criminal courts will likely drop all charges. Impound fees are rarely ever returned or reduced.
