Attempted Disarming
A Chicago police officer’s weapon discharged during an attempt to arrest a suspect accused of being in possession of a stolen vehicle early Tuesday in North Lawndale.
Around 3:40 a.m., Ogden Police District officers in the 1600 block of South Drake Avenue were trying to arrest a male for possession of a stolen vehicle when he tried to disarm an officer, police said.
An officer’s weapon discharged during the struggle, authorities said. No one was struck by gunfire. The officer suffered minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital in fair condition, officials said. The suspect was arrested and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital for minor injuries, according to police.
The officers involved in the shooting will be placed on routine administrative duties for at least 30 days. The Civilian Office of Police Accountability was investigating the shooting.
If it turns out the suspect discharged the Officer's weapon, does he have to serve the thirty-days off of the street?
But if that happened, you can bet COPA is going to hand out ten or twenty days.

No respect for the police.
As if 30 days inside is a bad thing…
watch how copa will now do a quick "investigation" for once and find that the offender acted in appropriate and lawful manner consistent with department rules and regulations
Sig 320???
These OIS incidents seem to be happening on a weekly basis. I wonder if our 100 million dollar OGVR has figured out what demographic is behind most of this.
😆😆😆😆
That says it all.
It’s the new socialist democrats plan to aid in the fight to destroy the police “Flee or Fight”
Everyone doesn’t want to be a house mouse like you. Man up
Copa will hang officer for a not approved duty holster.
Only a moron will buy or carry a sig p320.
Many years ago an old time Sgt from 007 had a door business and was going to his office when a subject approached to rob him. The Sgt carried his snub in his sport coat pocket, pulled it out and ended the situation. Shooting was good but OPS dinged him for no holster.
Why’s that? How many did we have go off? Mine still hasn’t gone off
30?you shoot a guy who shoots a cop and you get put on desk duty for 2.5 years now a days.
Must be your “wet dream”.
30 days inside for OIS??? Years ago, several units would have to be unable to man a few shifts. One guy from that unit had 10 OIS himself. All legit!
