School Safety? Hahahahaha

And there it is - the real reason they wanted police out of schools:

  • Chicago Public Schools is poised to cut in half the money and staff the district provided to some high schools after they removed police officers stationed at their campuses.

High schools were given money roughly equivalent to a school resource officer’s annual salary in order to implement alternative approaches to safety, known as Whole School Safety Plans.

A Chalkbeat analysis of the proposed 2026-27 budget found that funding for Whole School Safety Plans at 54 high schools would go from $8.7 million to $4 million and the number of positions would go from 80 to 42. Most schools would see a reduction from $160,000 or more to around $80,000 and the loss of roughly one position, under the proposed budget.

So they removed the actual police, hired cheaper staff with the "savings," then finally, cut the cheaper staff personnel to redirect the money to favored proommiesgrams.

The other reason tehey got rid of cops was because in certain situations, the cops are REQUIRED to take police action, i.e. arrest offenders....and that fed into the "school to prison pipeline" nonsense the demo-lib-commie narrative was preaching.

Can't have kids thinking they might go to jail for criminal offenses ya know. Gotta get that entitlement thought process indoctrinated as soon as possible.

Yep, can't have any non-CPS witnesses see what's going on in the schools, right?

Hey Scc awesome blog but sometimes we have to put so.e things to bed like officers in schools. This in not an issue with 98% of us not wanting anything to do with the savagery in the schools. For the most part the school officers were for the dogs of the job needing a place to hide. Being real and too bad if it butt hurts anyone. So this is not an issue with the troops and don't understand why it keeps rearing its head. Were not wanted there hated by most teachers and kids so let's stop giving it attention.

Everywhere the police department is over 3000 officers short Democrats are mismanaging money but yet here we go they find money for people that don’t wanna work for the snap program. Blame President Trump has always people don’t wanna work. It’s a necessity you need to get a job, even if it’s a basic job working at a fast food restaurant taxpayers are taxed out. Ps I thought they said the state of Illinois was broke. Maybe the billionaire governor can belly up with his pork filled belly and throw some of his billions at it. nope sorry he’s gonna use money to try to buy the presidency just like he bought the governor’s office.

Those “necessary” 2000 school jobs that were to be let go -well, at the last minute, the CTU decided to NOT lay off anyone, citing “future EXPECTED” income to come from the city, and state. Coinciding with the CTU going ALL IN for another 4 years for da mayor - gotta keep those extra 10,000 jobs they have created since 2021, never mind that the school population of pupils was DOWN 15-20 thousand.

The individual who made the comment, that the Officers in Schools were dogs was probably a School Administrator who wanted to press CHARGES on a student for violating a school rule/Not Criminal. Most School Officers work their asses off, Arresting Students for Battery/Simple/Aggravated, Robbery,Theft, Narcotic arrest, in some cases Arson and Homicide and then there were the Criminal Sexual Assault of minors by Guess Who, School Staff.Lets not forget the gang fights during dismissal. If the person who made the Dog comment is the Police, I would venture to say he or she is a 2 year wonder working in the office, on the North Side.If true S.T.F.U Rookie.

Vouchers is the real answer how do we spend more then a good college education at the grammar school level for kids not knowing how to read. Most catholic high schools cost around 15000 and majority of the graduates go on to college and or contribute to society. Seems like a complete win.

I still have lousy memories of my time working in 010 on days and trying to stop the mexican and black kids from killing each other at the end of school and trying to get home. Plenty of shootings. What a lousy life and it seemed that way too many people just accepted this behavior as ordinary.

So let me get this straight...

CPS boots police out of schools, spends millions creating "Whole School Safety" and "Restorative Justice" positions, fills schools with safety, climate, discipline, and intervention staff...and now they're cutting those positions too. 🤡

Apparently "school safety" was just another buzzword until the budget got tight.

And here's the part nobody wants to talk about...

Why spend years earning a teaching license and building classroom experience when the fast track seems to run through non-licensed school support jobs? Skip teaching, work in safety, attendance, climate, or discipline, then somehow end up climbing the administrative ladder. Guess actual classroom experience is optional now.

CPS keeps talking about "equity" and "student outcomes," but maybe they should start explaining how these career pipelines work and why licensed educators are expected to jump through hoops while others appear to have a much smoother ride.

Welcome to CPS...where buzzwords replace common sense, credentials take a back seat to connections, and today's "school safety expert" is tomorrow's administrator

They got the Officers out, got the money and, still get Police service when they need it. DCO's where I work are doing School dismissals every day. The School's call and the commander does what they ask.

I knew some school officers. Straight dogs. I don’t blame them, but it was what it was. And relax school officer Rambo, you weren’t making homicide arrests. Your “narcotic” arrests are when security found drugs on them and brought them to you and you knocked out a report. You were a school cop, it wasn’t that cool, but all of this is just a job anyways, so who really gives a shit, your checks cleared like the rest of us so that’s great for you. But don’t come on here a blow smoke up everyone’s ass like we also all arent on the job. Making it sound like you’re doing conspiracy cases as a school cop. Dork.

So spot on. If anyone did force the issue, how about getting those HQ mice come fill those school spots. They are a waste of resources already. The least we can do is get them out from hiding under their desks. Disrupt their morning yoga classes and make them work in an environment suitable for their skills
