COPA Clears Another Cop
A Chicago police officer who went viral after a video showed her pointing her firearm out of a CPD wagon during a street takeover two summers ago has been cleared of wrongdoing by the Civilian Office of Police Accountability, better known as COPA.
The brief video, recorded on August 5, 2024, showed a street takeover at the intersection of 59th Street and Pulaski Road. A white vehicle was doing donuts in the middle of the intersection, blocking traffic. As a CPD wagon tried to drive through the crowd of people and vehicles, a female officer pointed her firearm out of the passenger-side window at one or more people in the street.
The agency launched an investigation after police supervisors saw the video on Twitter and Facebook.
COPA determined there was “no way to identify or interview any of the citizens involved in the incident, including the original creator of the videos that were posted on social media.” As a result, the agency relied on the officers’ statements and available third-party videos.
So they kept this "investigation" open for over two years because (A) no complainant and (B) no witnesses....including the one who shot hte video in the first place.
But COPA got their licks in anyway!
- The agency found the allegation that the female officer unnecessarily displayed and pointed her firearm to be “not sustained.” However, COPA sustained an allegation that she failed to activate her body-worn camera. She told the agency she did not realize she had failed to activate it until she was interviewed. COPA recommended that she receive a reprimand and retraining on body-worn camera protocols.

That officer is a goof and gets CR #’s on her coworkers. Wish she was back at callback. And she knows better than to drive in the middle of the idiot drifters. She’s a danger to everyone in the District.

Per orders, if a supervisor sees any misconduct, or potential misconduct, they are to report it to the department through a log investigation.
Right. She made up fake complaints about harassment, still does, she was never disciplined for it. Just another gen Z ruining the department. I almost feel bad for BIA having to sift through the complaints, almost though, they're inside hacks 99.5% of the BIA investigators.

Absolutely true on both counts. I've been on for over twenty years, and PO AJ 008th District is one of the worse officers that I've seen slither in the door of CPD. She obviously has some juice ...her old man was CFD. Or maybe somebody is paying some higher ups and politicians off to look the other way. She has filed false and frivolous on PO's and supervisors in every unit she lands in,has issues with minorities ( pull the complaints on her)and has used her gender to slide out of the same types of complaints that have gotten male officers fired or a shitload of bad time. Maybe IAD is protecting her because she covered up the incident she had in 001 with former IAD chief Karen Konows husband, who was a watch lieutenant in 001. She has some bad news heading her way. Stay tuned.
