Off Duty Sheriff Wounded
Again, nothing good ever happens after midnight, and certainly not outside of nightclubs:
Three men were shot during an altercation outside of a downtown nightclub early Saturday morning, Chicago police said.
Police said the shooting happened near North Clark and West Erie streets in the city's River North neighborhood around 3:40 a.m.
An off-duty Cook County Sheriff's correctional officer was among the people injured, officials said.
Quite a few of these shootings seem to involve multiple shooters, something everyone should keep in mind if they're caught in the middle of these shitshows.

OT: just so everyone knows how lazy these captains are, they are now pawning off the one thing they have to do on the wols. The captains have been reviewing firearm pointing incidents and that was apparently way too much work for them, so they’re handing it to the wols. Can someone tell me what captains do anymore? They have zero responsibilities. Why do we even need them?

River North has gone to the dogs. Used to be a nice area with good bars and restaurants but the usual shitheads discovered it and now crime happens there all the time.
I don’t recall stupid shit like that ever happening walking out of Mikes.
if I was still a Lieutenant I’d be grateful I was able to swindle better officers than me out of a promotion. Stop complaining about it and just watch the 5 minute video. The blog isn’t a place for you to cry, all your inside favorites can listen to you moan. We don’t want to hear it.

When they removed Captains from every watch is when this department went to shit.
I worked a beat car on the watch as a P.O. and as a Sgt for 28 of my 33 years and the watch ran way smoother with a single defined leader of the watch.
Happily retired for several years now, but that's just my opinion
I see the point trying to be made here tho. Why are we paying captains so much money? Salary and pension for what? Has anyone seen a captain do anything, ever? So many people just draining the pension for a totally unnecessary job.
