Keeping with Rahm's exhortation that everyone should be treated the same:
- So NO ONE should be treated like a second class citizen, says Emanuel? That's real rich considering he treats the whole police department like second class citizens! If anyone treats the citizens here like crap, it is that shit for brains mayor.
He made sure to give generous raises to all his staff once he was in office, while claiming how the rest of the city had to make budget cuts and raise fines because of "economic hardships".
He refused to do anything toward making the pensions solvent, and wasted more tax money fighting a losing case in the IL supreme court.
He then continued to waste millions on useless bike lanes, parks, depaul stadium, the gang infested, extortionist group who work under the guise of "community workers" call "cease fire", and dozens of countless pet projects that wasted tax dollars.
He made sure that NO ONE would be given a break when driving past the numerous speed cameras and red light cameras, that is, except for himself and his caravan when they drove through them, in which case all tickets were NONSUITED! But the SECOND CLASS TAXPAYING CITIZENS must hand over $$$ for every one of those violations, unlike Rahm or the alderthieves who get excused.
And what citizen, besides Rahm, enjoys a 24/7 detail of a dozen officers who watch, escort, and chauffeur his/her family, all paid for by the rest of the working citizens. So Rahm, looks to me like you are the one who acts, spends, and lives like he is above everyone else. You are the one who treats everyone here like second-class citizens asshole!!!!

Now, for instance...those in Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO plans will have to 'punt' for similar type insurance coverage and it will cost a massive amount of hundreds of dollars to over a thousand dollar per month for each and every Retiree....(same for the other plans). Some deductibles are now $10,000-$15,000 each year for each member. Retirees this time next year will be searching through Obama's Care.
If that happened in Chicago, they would ban alligators.

Must see the news clip on NBC 10 o'clock news of the M/1 punching a white motorist after surrounding his car. The media said he was punched twice by the M/1. He has a black jacket on ,perfect picture of his face and police right there! ,was he arrested? Next you see the driver inching forward and in slow-motion you can see 3 m/1s fake falling on the hood of the vehicle, at least one with his pants around his knees and his underwear hanging out . This has gotten out of hand and is ridiculous these people need to be locked the fuck up !
NBC said police only intervened with protesters when they were approaching Lake shore Drive or the Eisenhower however they can go ahead and fucking punch people ,innocent citizens and not get locked up!!

Old Retired Guy Here Again ..........! I feel this post is very well done. I won't continue to "BORE" you all to death, much longer. That said, let me say this. I did over 32yrs on the CPD, I worked the street and worked with a lot of great people. We treated the citizens very fairly, and respectful. We adjusted ourselves to the situation. We were not Robots. I am insulted by the broad brush the mayor is trying to paint us in.
OT. Can anyone post the written decision from Judge Cohen regarding the retiree insurance issue. I know it was reported that he reached a decision on Dec. 3rd and was supposed to give his decision in writing on Dec. 11th. but I haven't seen anything here or on the FOP website. Thanks and stay safe.

Tell your family and friends to stay home or only make trips to the suburbs for shopping and entertainment. You know they are and will continue to protest downtown so why go down there? I retired a year ago and moved to a mid-size southern city in a good-sized county. When I read this thread this morning it brought back ill memories of that crap hole city Chicago.
When I got my mail later today, I got the following notice--the envelope was marked "Courtesy Notice," and it was from the *****County Sheriff. Here is what the letter said:
"During 2014, 44 citizens lost their lives in traffic crashes on the roads of **** County. We are seeking the assistance of all drivers to reduce this carnage.
A citizen has recently reported to the ****County Sheriff's Office that the driver of the below listed vehicle was observed committing a traffic violation. No attempt will be made to identify the driver, however, as the registered owner we want to make you aware of the matter."
(Then in bold type:)
"This is a courtesy notice only (not a warning or citation) and requires no action on your part. There are no points, fines or sanctions reported to the driver's license office."
.....then the letter listed the violation (Failure to stop at stop sign--I swear, I must have completely missed it, because I stop at all stop signs...can't believe I missed one completely, but I've never been to the area I was in that day)
Anyway, the letter listed date, time, location, and statute violation, which was Dec. 3, and the letter was dated Dec. 9. (How's that for efficiency?)
That's it. If I didn't know better, I would have thought I was being 'punked.'
Therein lies the difference between a civilized community and the corrupt crap hole Chicago. Therein is the difference between tax-paying, law-abiding communities and communities filled with welfare nursed "we don't need no poleeece here". Therein is the difference between a real effort by the county to perhaps save a life, versus a money grab by clout-connected corrupt city officials and clout-connected, bribery bearing companies with contracts.

One of the news stations showed the actual City Counsel meeting when they voted to pay LaQuan's " family" the 5 Million bucks. The first 2-3 hours of the Counsel meeting was fluff ceremonial BS. Then Ed Burke called for the settlement payment. Guess what. Passed the vote In less than a minute. No questions asked by ANY alderman. Just skipped it thru. No one asks why - or what the circumstances were ? Including the BS black caucus ? Well there's 50 people and a Mayor who should be shown the door. They are all running for cover. Start asking why they approved a big settlement w/o asking any q's. My guess is that they ALL knew about it - and did the mayors bidding as usual. Prob. The one story that slipped the cracks

Hey Rahm quit pandering to those who have no respect for the police. We are a paramilitary organization tasked with enforcing the law, not social workers.
Everyone is treated the same. If you give respect to the police you get it in return. If you don't you won't. Respect is not a one way street but amazing things happen when you respect the police and realize that they are an authority figure with the power of arrest, even when they are having a bad day. But if you dress like a jail inmate with your pants hanging,smoke illegal drugs in their presence, talk like and emulate the thug then the chances of you knowing what respect is are slim and none, where therein, the problem lies. I'm a big fan of more paperwork. More case reports for reported crimes, means more crimes are being reported, which means we will need more police officers hired, more detectives and sergeants promoted.
Less police officers means less police officers paying into the pension.
If Deano is so enamored with Rahmulus & Rahmulus wants to save money - why doesn't Deano commandeer the services of Lilliputian Security? My sons girlfriend is a Chicago Public School teacher and while talking with her she told me that many teachers are furious with Karen Lewis for marching and backing the protestors against the Chicago Police, they even had T- Shirts printed up saying something to the effect that Police Lives matter and they don't share the unions feelings.
