Secret Meetings

  • Community groups remain skeptical of the Chicago Police Department’s efforts to address the use of police officers in public schools after a series of invite-only meetings have largely been shrouded in secrecy.

Nine months after the Office of the Inspector General released a scathing report about the department’s lack of oversight and poor training of school resource officers, neither police nor Chicago Public Schools officials will say if the two institutions have met to discuss the report’s recommendations.

Since April, police have held nine “community input meetings” to talk about school resource officers. All but one have been closed to the general public.
They don't want police in the schools? Then get out. There are districts across the city that would love to have the manpower back on the watch sheets. Schools should be places of learning and quiet study.

Like this one:
  • More than two dozen people were placed into police custody after a fight broke out near a high school in Chicago’s Brainerd neighborhood Wednesday, officials said.

Twenty-eight people were taken into custody after police responded about 12:15 p.m. to an incident in the 1300 block of West 95th Street near CICS Longwood High School, a charter school, a police spokeswoman said.

One victim was taken to the Little Company of Mary Hospital, where the person’s condition was stabilized, a Fire Department spokesman said.
It's funny when Reality intrudes on the "progressive" narrative.

Brainerd? That used to be a nice area full of neat yards and working folk. Any idea what changed it?

I talk to guys on the school detail... it's cake they tell me.
I tell them just wait until one of the 6'4 180 lb Angeles attacks you and you use force to subdue him. The next day suntimes headline will read "Chicago cop beats child in school " compete with a prepubescent photo of the future astronaut.
If you are a police officer working in cps you have lost your mind.

Simple...

Pull the Police out.

And when the obedient and well behaved 6 foot tall,
200 pound "children" have an in-school/on campus wig out,
let their teachers and school administrators come forth
out of hiding and hug them into the meek and humble submission
that The mean, insensitive and RACIST Police have failed to do...

Right?

Respond after the fact.

Drop painstakingly detailed paper.

Since The Police are no longer viewed as crdible
by the Cook County State's Attorney and Judiciary,
the Police have been nullified from making arrests
in where the Police are the complainant.

Arrest ONLY on signed complaint.
Anything else? Advise a warrant.

The Police have no legally compelled
duty to care or protect other than to
care for and protect themselves and each other.

Let dry, flavorless, unsexy, non-controversial, bland,
strictly-by-the-numbers Policing be the order of the day.

Stop fighting THEM!

Give they what they want
and richly deserve.

Police Like You Have No Friends.

Look.
Point & Laugh.
Leave.

Do like Lori’s security detail, have retired Marshals, FBI, DEA, etc. staff and run school security.
No CPD response unless signed complaints. 311 can handle reports.

In my opinion, they should take the police out of the schools and replace them with volunteer parents (if you can find them) and maybe even a few could be from the media so they can see first hand what kind of animals the chilluns can be and are....this explains the number of shootings and killings year after year....stupid chilluns do stupid things & come from way more stupid, ignorant, and absentee parents....But WTF do I know it's the POLICE'S fault!!!

Quit talking and take CPD out already.

In talks since April?

Just do it already. Shouldn't be much to talk about, given the predispositions of the people doing the meeting.

Pull CPD out of the schools and let CPS handle the mess they’ve created.
Give them what they want and see how long it takes until they’re bitching that they need police in the schools.

They don’t want them arrested. They want you to do their job so they don’t have to discipline the kid. Been going on forever

LA tells the complainants that they have to say they are making a citizens arrest. The LAPD then takes the goof in custody. I believe that is a result of they federal oversight decree.

QUESTION: Does the schools pay for the police officers assigned to them? several years ago the CPD recommended that all Officers be pulled from schools due to the Board of Ed did not pay for the Officers services. At that time the CPD pulled all of it's school patrol officers. It would be interesting to see if Board is paying

Secret = Deal.
I kind of recall about 10 or so years ago the braintrusts of the Merit Command floated manpower reallocation that was going to pull half the PO’s out of the high skrools from 2 to 1 in some and none in others. I know the prep accredited skrools had a kinipshit.

Without police in the schools the CPS Administration would have to take on all the blame.
And besides that, their hands-off policy only put police further into the trick bag (e.g. Y’all gotta do something, they killing each other).
No CPS arrest of a violent feral student in 20 years ever led to actual jail time did it ?

I guess I shouldn't be surprise that CPD and CPS have dragged their feet in making the changes that were proposed. I'm sure, just like in the past, they will put all these new changes through and rush them down just to comply with the decree. As always, we, the actual workers, will be left out of any functional input as to what really goes on in these schools and how to best deal with these matters. The department can't just ask for a handful of "school officers" for a one time input meeting at hq for a few hours and expect to implement real change to a complex problem.

Indeed!

Then The Police get to stick it in the teachers, principals
and staffers asses by doing what they're EXPERTS at doing...

Going from complainants/victims of these 6 foot tall, 200 lb.
"children" to witnesses for the prosecution...

"Well... I think that the Officers handcuffing a
(6 foot 200 lb. wildly thrashing/foaming-at-the-mouth
and STRONG AS ANY TWO OR THREE NORMAL MEN)
CHIII-IIILD was EXCESSIVE, y'honuh!"

Fuck these crazy people and their surrenderist
progressive ass-kissery in hope they're not
eaten first in these wretched places called
Chicago Public Schools.

More teachers, principals and staffers need to be expertly
middled in CPS student & restorative justice bullshit
and disciplined/terminated/jailed just like Policemen.

Heh...

Embrace the "New Equality" where NOBODY'S
employment, earnings, future and freedom
is safe from anybody else.

LOL!

We can hear the teachers, principals and staffers
howling in fear, pain and hatred already.

Pull. The. Police. Out of CPS. NOW!

Let the usuals try to protect themselves
from being eaten alive by each other with
ZERO Police "interference and obstruction."

I wholeheartedly agree, remove Cpd from CPS. I’ve met so many police haters and CPS anyways, no big deal to me. Let’s take it a step further, no police allowed on CPS property. They can hire their own private security and we won’t have to assist the school cars with these nonsense dismissal flights...Except, oh yeah, the fights always spill out on the sidewalk, public way, traffic.

I don’t even understand the reason why we are in schools. They have security, they have teachers. What are we supposed to be offering? I mean, if Eddie had to state the mission and goal of having us in schools, I don’t actually know what his answer would be. Best case scenario I don’t understand the role we are supposed to play In schools. You can’t use the excuse of we are there in case of an active shooter because theres no cops in schools in 016. Or is it because a certain demographic of yuts can’t act properly? That sounds like a school problem, not a police problem. If they act up, expel them, it’s an in-house school issue, not a law enforcement one. Get police out of schools, we have nothing to offer them.
