Arson Induced Homicide
Detectives are now investigating the death of Captain Meyer as a homicide:
A Chicago firefighter was killed while battling a West Side garage fire Wednesday morning, CFD said.
It was a difficult day for the Chicago Fire Department and the family of Captain David Meyer as they mourn the loss of the first responder.
Chicago Fire Department investigators said the garage fire that led to the tragedy was started by someone igniting the contents of a trash bin. The development comes as Captain Meyer is being remembered as a hard working, decades-long public servant.
If and when charges are filed, will there be bail granted?

I think Arson is covered in the safety act Terrible
So sad that someone did a malicious act. But this is Chicago that’s what goes on. I see it just about every day. It just sickens me.
My deepest sympathies to the family. I wish; I could have been there to do the best I could to stop this evil person.
Of course cail will be granted. This is Illinois. We need our arsonists out there.
If the dicks can solve this one and lucky enough to arrest him.......Just set his ass on fire and watch him burn!!!!!!!!!
First responders are expendable, criminals protected, vote for democrats.
I have heard the offender has been arrested and charged....hard typing the word offender rather than what I wanted to.... but for pc managed to type offender. Hopefully he stays locked up and rots for murder, but with this governor, anything goes.

Chewy .. name one thing that makes you worthy of a merit pick besides being a nice guy.
I am flabbergasted by the number of people on social media who don't think this should be a murder charge because they say he didn't intend to kill anybody.
The whole idea behind the justice system was to ensure that both sides got a fair shake, and we'd have an impartial judge to rely on...
That, and that alone keeps vigilantes at bay.
When the State decides to fuck with the balance and tip it in favor of the criminal - then vigilantes tend to fill the void.
I bet that neither the State, nor the criminals will like that....
