Rumors Abound!

Rumors rumors everywhere. We found these posted in a comments section a ways down the page and thought they needed to be brought to light:
  • Cmdr Sodini (012) to ADS of IAD
  • ADS Kirby (IAD) to Chief of OCD
  • Lt. Naleway(IAD) to Cmdr of 012
  • Cmdr Jackson ( 011) to take Dep Chief Radke's spot before end of year
  • Sergeants class put on indefinite hold pending outcome of Federal "merit" investigation.
  • Cmdr of 003 being forced to retire ASAP after an endless list of assorted atrocities dating back the last 6 years begin to slowly be proven as factual.
Just a few comments and questions about these:
  • Who pissed off whom in 012 that they'd lose a commander to IAD and get an IAD lieutenant in return?
  • What do we know about Kirby? People say she's going places
  • We haven't heard even a whisper of Radke stepping aside - where's that from?
  • "Merit investigation?" Supposedly, the class starts this month, we've even heard next week will be the announcement. Hopefully, Noelle Brennan uses this website as an exhibit to gut the administration.
  • Which atrocities are these? Name them, because THIS would be a HOT thread
  • We also heard Starks is gone before Halloween again - can someone nail this one down? We've got money riding on Dugan or Grau for 1st Deputy.

Heard Grau and Phil are vacationing together in Florida and everyone knows if you own property near Phil or vacation with Phil, you go places [see maher]. Grau might get the first's spot

Dugan is going to get Chief of Patrol (2 stars)and Charles Williams will be the 1st Deputy Supt (three stars) He was made the Deputy Supt of Patrol and is now wearing 2 silver stars (like Mauer). Once Starks "retires" (and thus makes available the only 3 star position in the dept) the realignment will go back to the way it was (and should be). Grau is a good guy but I think he has reached his highest post with the CPD. Talk is he may be eying a spot with either the County or the feds...but what do I know?

Funny how many people are going towards the County. Some nice, experienced, interesting old timers I knew went that way in the last few years.

On another note, I don't remember his name, but wasn't there a story about a previous commander of 003 being removed circa 1997, 1998 or 1999 for something that seemed dirty? I think it was something like he showed up at a homicide scene where a significant street-level dealer was killed in or around a car, and had the car inventoried by HIS people... or something like that. Interfering with an investigation blah blah blah. Also, something like when the investigative powers got wind of it and demanded the car, it was gone or cleaned or stripped.

I don't remember the details I'd heard back then, but I do remember that they revolved around a 7th district homicide, a car, and interference. The commander was quietly removed, and I don't recall ever hearing anything about it again.

Speaking of commanders from those days, how many can y'all name that were rumored (or shown) to have dirty pasts, dirty relatives, dirty connections, dirty underwear, dirty friends etc.

I'm thinking one commander of 003, one commander of 008, one commander of 015, and that's just off the top of my head. I was not a fan of Hillard, but his predecessors were some of the suckiest suckmeisters in a line of sucky (and dirty) bosses.

No offense to anyone, but I'd love to see a complete removal of everyone who was ever promoted to anything when Hanhardt had a say in promotions. Every single one.

Maybe make them all reapply for their civil service ranks, and retake an objective test with the rest of the department.

That would be a good start. At least, maybe if we brought in some real bosses like Bratton's people to write and administer the test.

I feel dirty for even knowing this stuff and having my real-life name associated with this filthy outhouse and its dirty bosses.

If you want to start with a complete removal of everyone associated with Handhart you have to connect the dots. Perhaps a good place to start is anyone who was in the old CIU, Malone his friend Dolores Deloghery, Farrell, and on and one.

Heard Daley was thinking about that gated community, but it was closed down. They called it State Villa in Joliet. Wonderful Condo Units. The whole Daley family wanted to be there together. Maybe that day will come.

Not to change the subject but...

Today's article in the Suntimes about the trial of Daniel Salley for shooting Detective Joe Airhart:

In the seconds after a shootout with a bank robbery suspect that left one of his team members critically wounded, FBI agent Gary Kissinger could hear only the sound of wind blowing through the venetian blinds in the South Side apartment.
It had taken seconds, Kissinger said, for the arrest of suspected bank robber Daniel Salley to go wrong, and it would take two hours after that to persuade him to release 19-year Chicago Police Detective Joseph Airhart, who was lying in a bedroom bleeding from a gunshot wound in his head.
Kissinger, the federal task force leader at the attempted arrest that day in August 2001, testified Friday at the trial of Salley, who faces federal charges of bank robbery and attempted murder. Kissinger explained how a team of five officers hatched a plan to find out if Salley was inside the home of his fiancee in the 1300 block of South Wabash, and how they entered, with Airhart in the lead, chasing Salley through the apartment.
Kissinger said he saw Salley running with a gun drawn, heard a shot and saw Airhart fall forward. More gunfire was exchanged between Salley and other agents before they retreated to the foyer area of the apartment. There, they could hear only the wind and see shadows on the floor, Kissinger said.
But when the agents began talking about going back in to get Airhart, Salley spoke, Kissinger said.
"If you come back in, I am going to finish him off,'' Salley said, according to Kissinger. "I'm going to put another bullet in him.''

I know it is politically incorrect to Monday morning Quarterback a shooting but…

What kind of Bitches are these FBI agents that they retreat to the foyer for cake and coffee while Detective Airhart is bleeding to death. I can understand that since they only outnumbered and outgunned Salley by 4 to 1 that they immediately turned around and ran as fast as their starched white shirts would let them. What I don’t understand is why they did not have Harry Porterfield or some other news hack there with them as back up so that when things got tough they could send in the media representative to rescue their fallen comrade. This is one of the biggest disgraces in FBI history and there was ZERO accountability.

Maybe they didn't want anybody else to be shot. You were not there. Maybe he was able to put enough fire into the room to force them back. You dont know you were not there. Its screwed up that the officer was shot. Pointing fingers does not make him any better.

As a courtesy to the other officers that you work with, please inform them that you will not be backing them up and will be leaving them to bleed to death if things go to hell and you are forced back by a lone gunman, even if you outnumber that gunman by 4 to 1.

IN Regards to "MERIT INVESTIGATION" … The Feds have NO INTEREST in the Chicago Police Department's merit program. The PBPA/Lieutenant’s Association states that the "merit" promotions are possibly a violation of the Shakman decree. However, since the Feds work so closely with the C.P.D. They don't want to touch any of it. They state that the issue is being handled as a lawsuit anyway. I believe this was stated in last months LT'S union newsletter "The Sentinel". It too bad really.

When Airharts shooting happened, there were rumors that a F.B.I. sniper had a clean shot at Salley but was not allowed to take it. The other rumors were that the F.B.I. left a C.P.D. guy who wasn't even on their team to die to save themselves. The tought in the 011th district was screw the F.B.I. never work with any of them again. Then commander kobel at the time Area 4 went to every role call and talked about the shooting in depth to prevent any hard feelings against the F.B.I. When has any shooting been disgusted with district cops? So no doubt in my mind the F.B.I. saved their asses and fucked Airhart!

IN REGARDS TO MERIT PROMOTIONS . . . . . Damn Right .. They do suck!! I’ve seen some of the merit kids that were made. One new MERIT sergeant kid that worked with Cline JR. in narcotics is especially cocky. He spent 2 months in 015 to say that he was the “Real Police”, then .. was sent off to SOS. Pissed off a lot of people in 015. He thought he was a “hot shit pretty boy” with his white shirt and 7 years on the job.

003rd Distrcit Commander was investigated on 03 OCT 05 for an Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assaualt. Numerous detectives were called to the ADS of IAD's office to interview the alleged victim, where they were given direct orders to not speak about it to anyone, even their own supervisors. At least two of the Detectives were from A/5. The outcome was that the Commander in question has had an on-going sexual relationship with the alleged victim and no charges were filed, no CR# obtained!!! This particular Commander has been a frequent flyer as the accused in sexual harassment CR's ever since he was promoted to Commander of Housing back in 2000. None of the CR's have gone anywhere. He has been named in numerous other shady deals, most involving actual, hand in hand cooperation with high level dope dealers on the southside. There seems to be some substance to many of these allegations. Thank you John Stroger for another fine example of your ability to promote " the best " people for the CPD. ( sarcasim mode now turned off )

On another note, as far as Lt. Naleway from IAD goes, he is a GREAT guy. I worked with him in 017 before he got rank and is a really good person. Slamming a guy just because he worked in IAD is pretty ignorant. Just like every other Unit and district, there are good and bad in all of them. 012 would be lucky if they got him as a Commander.

Peterson may be rough around the edges, but he was a good det. The Cmdr. of 018 was a ballsey tact guy a great det., and if you know anything he is pro working copper all the way. I also agree w/the comment of Naleway good man great friend and is in the working copper's corner. Grow up! Not all white shirts are MFRS, just as all blue shirts aren't saints.

Ask the guys in 025 in a few months what they think of thier current COmmander, ex-IAD lieutenant. I know there were all sorts of conspiracy theories and rumors why a an ex-IAD guy got sent there. That is all bullshit. He's a great boss and was a hard working copper, definitely looking out for those who are well intentioned. Just like Naleway. All you guys that can't post a reply without talking about things that you have no idea about, should find a new hobby. Whining, and pointing out who is the REAL police and who is not? Give me a break! How pathetic! Don't listen to the internet rumor mongers.
