Saturday Quick Hits and Maintenance

Blogger is going down this afternoon for a few hours for upgrades and the like. Which, by complete coincidence, is what we were thinking of doing this afternoon. Here's something to keep you entertained in the mean time.
  • Finally, someone nails all those dope dealing firefighters. (Not!) At the very least, it's always nice to see someone take the heat of the police department for a little while.
  • Alderweasels get a 10% raise in their Ward funds for sidewalk, alley and curb repair. No word yet where this extra 10% is coming from as (A) there's still a $100 million dollar question mark in the mayor's budget and (B) they were already screwing taxpayers on the 50-50 program and NOW they can find $120K per ward? More Federal indictments please!
  • NINE days of rioting in Paris and the surrounding country side. Read the sun-times article here and try to figure out what word doesn't appear even ONCE in the entire report. We'll give you a hint - it starts with "mu" and ends with "slim." The Yahoo report here prefers the words "...gangs of youth from low-income high-immigration neighborhoods" but finally says "muslim" in the 15th paragraph of a 16 paragraph story. This AP/Yahoo update reports that 897 cars were burned a night after 500 others had been burned. Hopefully, we don't end up having to save France from itself again.

France wanted empire in Algeria now they're paying the price. Blowback is a bitch. Then again mules of every stripe riot from time to time. Nothing unique about these baby towelheads. Look at Argentina the last few days. Bush just beat feet out of that mess to stem further damage to his image. Freefall for his approval rating. He'd better pull Osama out of his hat or start the next phony war against Syria or Iran real soon.

frm the Yahoo/AP rticle:

"
Most rioting has been in towns with low-income housing projects where unemployment and distrust of police run high. But in a new development, arsonists were moving beyond their heavily policed neighborhoods to attack others with less security, said a national police spokesman, Patrick Hamon.

"They are very mobile, in cars or scooters. ... It is quite hard to combat" he said. "Most are young, very young, we have even seen young minors."

There appeared to be no coordination between separate groups in different areas, Hamon said. But within gangs, he added, youths are communicating by cell phones or e-mails. "They organize themselves, arrange meetings, some prepare the Molotov cocktails."
"

This could easily happen here. I really hope Sullivan is taking notes.

To the last poster, two words:

Second amendment. This should encourage each and every one of you not to confiscate a gun off of a law-abiding citizen if it has nothing to do with the reasons you are in contact with the citizen. Citizens might need em someday.

This just screams out as a reason that blanket gun control is bad.

Paris seeks "hidden hands" in riots By Tom Heneghan
Sat Nov 5,11:22 AM ET

AULNAY-SOUS-BOIS, France (Reuters) - With every night that France's rundown suburbs burn, officials grow increasingly convinced that drug traffickers and Islamist militants are using frustrated youths to challenge law and order here.

Many people who watch their cars, shops and schools go up in flames, however, are not buying it. They blame unemployment, racial prejudice and widespread youth boredom for the outbursts.

Finding "hidden hands" behind the unrest seems like trying to catch the rioters as they rampage through the night. Some may get caught, but far more slip away in the darkness.

The roving bands of rioting Muslim youths are not in the countryside. The rioting began and continues in Seine-St. Denis and the northern suburbs of Paris. You pass through this area of low-income housing projects on the motorway from Charles deGaulle International Airport into central Paris.

You may safely stop and linger at the bistros along the Champs Elysee, visit the Lourve and the Eiffel Tower.

However, the rioting has escalated as far as Marseille, 600 miles to the south.

A message to the Muslim rioters: Va te faire enculer. Encule de ta race entiere. Ta mere suce le penis d'animaux pour l'argent!

What did Old Man DALEY say about ARSONISTS back in April 1968 after King's assassination...?

"...Daley's reaction to the rioting became more coherent, but no less inflammatory, as the days passed. The police bore some of the blame as well, he said on April 15th, because of the restraint they showed. "I have conferred with the Superintendent of Police this morning and I gave him the following instructions," Daley said, "which I thought were instructions on the night of the fifth that were not carried out: I said to him very emphatically and very definitely that [he should issue an order] immediately and under his signature to shoot to kill any arsonist or anyone with a Mololov cocktail in his hand in Chicago because they're potential murderers, and to issue a police order to shoot to maim or cripple any arsonists and looters – arsonists to kill and looters to maim and detain." Daley said he had thought these instructions would not even need to be conveyed. “I assumed any superintendent would issue instructions to shoot arsonists on sight and to maim the looters, but I found out this morning this wasn't so and therefore gave him specific instructions," he said..."

(...there was some major league backpedaling on what was said and who said it in the following days and weeks... ;-> )

I was around in 1968 under Daley, And on the West side. The Supt. of Police didn't have to give the order to shoot. It was done. How many, who knows? You have to remember, anything to spark the flames in a minority, is the minority holiday, not just here, but the world over. Look at New Orleans, France, Etc!

It is now dawn in gay Paree

Sacre bleu!

Now the Muslim youths are tossing Molotov cocktails near the Eiffel Tower. We must call on Jacques Chirac to surrender to the Islamic jihad.

We are having nightmares reminiscent of the Nazis rolling down the Champs Elysee.

Where is the 82nd Airborne when we need them. Sil vous plait, Amerika!

This is just a sample of things to come not just in Europe, but all over the world. There are many "dissafected" groups of people all over the civilized world who are angry over the state of affairs in their countries. The gap between the "haves" and "have nots" are growing wider by the day. Those people inside a wealthy country like France will rebell just in the way we see on the nightly news. In other regions like Palestine and Lebannon terrorisim is the method of rbellion chosen. South American countries like Columbia are also jumping on the terrorisim bandwagon. Lest we forget, there is still a lunatic fringe here in the U.S. Thre are many more Terry Nichols and Ted Kczynskis lurking around just biding their time. Terrorisim and civil unrest will become more and more common in the 21st century. And the people on the front line who will take the brunt of all this is law enforcement agencies all over the world. Everyone on this site is making fun of what's happening in Paris but just wait, our time is coming soon. With the rising unemployment and poverty levels among certain groups in this country all it takes is a spark to ignite the kind of civil unrest we see in France. So don't chuckle too hard or laugh too loud, It,s not a matter of "if" but "when" we have our own Paris here in Chicago,Detroit,Cleveland,or elsewhere. In the words of Crosby,Stills,&Nash "I see a bad moon rising."

Hey anonymous 01:13:38,

Come out of your dope induced stupor. What's happening in France has nothing to do with the "haves" (wealthiest 1% perhaps?) and the "have nots" - it has to do with Muslims wanting to take over the world and force their "religion of peace" down our throats. What's happening throughout the world is that Muslims refuse to assimilate into the local culture or adhere to any law other than Muslim law. Keep in mind also that the 19 terrorists who crashed into the towers were from wealthy families. They weren't acting out because of dire straits.

While socialist, liberal, pansy ass, appeasers like you, hug trees and make excuses for them, these f**kers are quietly killing infidels (non-believers) everywhere. Fortunately, we finally have a president with balls big enough to recognize the problem and take the battle to them.

As for the unemployment and poverty at home, you can thank yourself and your ilk for that. Because of your failed socialist programs, far too many people have been allowed to belly up to the public trough for far too long. By giving them a lifetime of handouts you've taken away their sense of responsibility and pride. They have no reason to look for gainful employment. You overlook all that they do and are quick to blame others (usually the evil, conservative, Christian, white male).

We've already had that spark in Chicago....it was called, "Bulls win!!."

You'll reap what you've sewn my friend, not I. You see, despite your best efforts to take them away, I and my family and friends have guns. So let them burn and pillage their ghettos or come looking for Infidels...we'll be waiting, as will so many others in this country, while you and your friends wring your hands and blame America.
