The Lost Opportunity
That was our position a week ago and we don't see anything mistaken about it. Despite having the Best Defensive Player and the Coach of the Year, the lack of offensive power couldn't overcome what was probably the only bad week the defense had all year.
At least the most of the team is under contract for a few years, so maybe they can build on this if they can land an additional receiver or two. The missing link seems to be a long game - a big play offense. Did the Bears ever bust out a big 70 or 80 yard pass play this year? If they did, did they ever do it more than once? If they had a credible threat AND popped off 6 or 8 plays like that in a years time, watch out NFL.

The Bears have good people to work with, maybe next year if Grossman stay healthy, he'll get good enough to fireup the offense. Then watch out!

I prefer to look at the glass as half full. At the beginning of the season, analysts were saying if the Bears went 8-8 it would be a good season. Coach Smith went from 5-11 and one more coach through the revolving door, to 11-5 and coach of the year. Urlacher went from most overrated player in the leauge to defensive player of the year and leader of the top defense in the NFL. It was a great ride! I enjoyed the whole season. Once again Carolina & Pittsburg proved the theory of "any given sunday." The future looks bright for Smith and Da'Bears."wait until next year." takes on real meaning.
Oy Vey! Grossman is an incosistent passer at best. The passing game was spotty and I'm suprised he only threw one interception. Running the ball up the middle didn't help and I'm not sure why they didn't run to the outside more-the Bears backfield has the speed if it has anything. The Bears were simply outplayed. Wait until next year. And watch out for that guy on Bt. #1341

Yeah- Thanks for the day off. Now tell me why this is a national holiday? Wasn't KING a drug dealer & a armed robber? Did he not have multiple affairs while married & have a child out of wedlock? What did he do to deserve a national holiday? Should'nt we have a Holiday for all LEOs that have died in the line of duty? Maybe a national holiday- to go out & hunt! Yeah For one day you can celebrate & hunt without a liscense , or permit..YEAH, thats the ticket. The only good thing about this stupid national holiday is a three day weekend , & holiday pay.

The retired sergeant from 025 was none other than the wonderful Kenny Kula.
He was the 10 sector sergeant, but managed to make the rounds to all the watering holes in the district. Toni's was his favorite though. I remember sitting at the light at Armitage and Cicero when I saw him waddle from behind the muffler shop into Toni's. If I would have blinked, I would have missed him.
Hes been retired about 12 years now. I hear he's been doing well and has lost a ton of weight.
Rev. King was a champion for the poor and disadvantaged of all races. He was murdered by the U.S. government, and that shall come out some time in the future.

I grew up while Dr. King was still alive, and I remember a man who made sense: Give us an equal chance he used to preach, be fair. What was wrong with that? I had relatives in the south and when I'd go there, I was ashamed at how they treated black people.
But that cocksucker Ray killed Dr. King and we all got stuck with that opportunistic sonuvabitch Jesse! I don't advocate murder, but if Ray had to shoot someone, he hit the wrong guy.

I know a lot of black people collect welfare, and if you watch the Cabrini Green video, it makes you sick. Just remember one thing though: There's a hell of a lot more white trash collecting welfare throughout the country than Cabrinigreenites!!

Ok, I am in my 20th year on this job. Worked south, west, housing, tact, mission teams, and beat cars.
A wise and knowledgable veteran officer who has since passed on gave me some advice when I was new on the job: "get up, go to work, get 1 good laugh a day, and go home the same way you came to work, with no extra holes in you, the rest is all bullshit". If you can do that every day for your career there will be no problem. Life is simple. People make it complicated.
I have had some bad days on this job, but those are few and far between. Those bad days are the ones where I didn't get my good laugh. Look around you people, there is humor everywhere, especially our dark sense of humor.
People take this job too seriously, they think everything is personal. The only time this job is personal is when someone is trying to hurt my family, my partner, my watchmates, or myself. The rest, as that wise veteran told me, is bullshit.
Dealing with the city or the Department is just business. The General Orders, laws, and our contracts are the playbook, use them to your advantage. Work smart not hard.
Every one of the whiners thinks they are being screwed by someone. Paranoia is healthy, keeps you from being hurt but it shouldn't rule your life. I hear they have good meds for you when it does take over.

Grossman did exactly what he had to do, and did not make any big mistakes. The defense DID NOT SHOW UP TO PLAY. Peanut was made into peanut butter, the Bears should trade him. The coaching was very bad. There was too much of an emphasis in the first half to throw the ball, throw the ball, throw the ball. They should have utilized the running game. The last quater when there was about 5 min left and the Bears had possession, there running up the middle. What the hell is that. They should have beenn doing that in the beginning of the game. In conclusion, I do believe the Bears will improve on this and be a true contender next year. Untill then GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!
