Two large fires in the 010th District have some wondering if a serial arsonist is at work.

It's common knowledge here in 010. Alderman Munoz is a former latin king with a gun conviction. The tribune did a expose years back about the latin kings running a protection racket for the sellers of fake IDs; they pulled in something like 30 thou a month. Munoz's mommys "Foto Estudio" was the primary source of all the fake "micas" floating around. Ask some of the old 26 street guys. Not surprised it burned to the ground, the feds might have been circling? Is Munoz is one of the rumored four indictees to come down soon?
I worked on a long term investigation into that whole scam. What you wrote is true. Within a month of us rolling up all the participants the investigation was shut down, our team was disbanded, and we were dumped into separate units. Clout is god in Chicago.

I'm three generations on the job and the one thing I was always told is that if you have enough juice you will get away with murder, literally. The city has been locked in an organized crime stranglehold with aid of one single corrupt Bridgeport family since 1955. Sensitive investigations such as the one you allude to are typically undermined at the behest of the politically connected target.
There is no rule of law in Chicago with the democrats in charge. So you're investigation was stopped for political expedience. Do you think the exempts are where they are becuase they are great coppers and skilled managers? They're are there because they can be counted on to do what they're told. And don't think for a minute that organized crime, or corrupt alderman don't call the shots. Maybe the G should be reading the blogsite for tips and clues.

The same moans and groans about the Daley's since the early 1960's and yet he and like minded people are elected over and over again..if you look at the ward break down after each elections these people carry the majority of the votes through-out the city....the only real break from the machice was Byrnes' and washington and that was short lived
