We're going to go out on a limb here and predict a mistrial sometime this week or next. Two jurors with possible arrest records? Who checks these juror questionnaires - Ray Charles or Helen Keller? What the heck is going on people? And this is a federal trial, so we doubt that Cook County had anything to do with it. Additional coverage at Channel 2; Channel 5; Channel 7.

How about the article in the sun times were they want to put to death a converted Christian in Iraq! I am so sick of hearing about how its just the extremist Muslims that want to kill Americans and non-Muslims. FYI they are all enemies to the American way of life. No Muslim can be trusted.

What's really astonishing is that neither the federal prosecutor nor the defense ran the backgrounds on these jurors at anytime during this trial. There was also commentary from a number of senior attorneys in Chicago that "we all pretty much rely on what they (the potential jurors) tell us." Can you believe it? Sounds like fundamental attorney malpractice to me. I can't imagine, given that both sides employed jury consultants that neither side was aware that these jurors lied on their statements and that halfway thru deliberations, a newspaper reporter is just now uncovering the information. What a fiasco, regardless of the outcome, I hope the ARDC investigates these attorneys. Talk about the need to protect the public - this is incompetent (on both sides) and inexcusable. My 2 cents!
I ran into George Ryan a few years ago on a gambling boat here in Illinois. Had an unlit cigar in his mouth and was pulling the arm on a $5.00 slot machine faster than The Six Million Dollar Man!
He also was drinking what looked like whiskey on the rocks. Good old George was also very friendly with the large breasted waitress serving his drinks.
Although he is an arrogant prick, I like the guy for being a regular guy when he is out and about.
In the next election, if every po voted against mayor Daley, there would surely be enough votes to turn this city around. There needs to be less complaining and more action. We can make a difference with one voice - the city would stand up and take notice then.
Hell my firefighter brother is in the joint for setting arsons, I lost another government job and still have over 3,000,000 dollars in quarters in my basement from the Illinois Tollway.
I think it's time I go out and enjoy myself. I am going to that all male all nude dance review by the Area Two Gun Team. I hope they accept rolls of quarters for hot male to male lap dances!

You have to get a chuckle out of that "John Quarters Boyle" posting. Yes, much of this non-sense on here is stupid but it is at least entertaining. It beats having to go from one washroom stall to another to read stuff like this.
Cops have a weird sense of humor, but then again if you had to deal with blood, guts, stupid drunks and others each day, you would also find a way to relieve the stress.

Ryan's legacy....Six dead kids, he is already in jail, a jail he will never escape from.
When Ryan goes down it will open the prosecution for Daley and others. The feds want this win and I'm sure Bush does. Ryans conviction will let the G go after Daley for malfesance and I'm sure that politicians will stop saying I did not know this was going on.
The Mayor and a number of Alderman were Flipped by the FBI a number of years ago, thats why they dont get Indicted.

Do you really think for a moment a reporter from the Trib thought to conduct background checks on the jurors without a little nudge from the defense? I wouldn't be suprised if Dan Webb's posse, fearing at least a partial conviction, didn't whisper in some journalists ear about skeletons in the closets of some jurors.
