Copper Beat with Axe Handle
Just caught the tail end of the Channel 5 report. We will post links when they become available. Copper is reportedly in good condition after a 015 District resident sicced a dog on him. After the cop shot the dog, the two legged dog laid him out with an axe handle. Monique Bonds used the words "Special Operations" in the segment we saw but we don't know if that's the victim copper or the responding units.

People have so little idea what damage a dog can do to a human being inside of 5 seconds. We should be allowed to kill dogs on general principle for a few weeks just to cut down on the number of strays and fighting animals loose in this town.

Also, as the dispatchers were concerned, they really kinda dropped the ball. Rather than taking over the reins and listening in to citywide 1 (which they have capability to do) they wait and wait for updates, which, depending on the typist, come very slow and endanger Officers. As I heard it, the dog was sicced (sp) on the officer and he responded. Any other additions I would not have place to speak of. Officers are ok.
Hahahaha. Asswipe says we deleted white people comments over black people comments. Point it out asswipe. We told everyone who visits we monitor the blog for one single hour a day - maybe two. If someone posted right after we went to bed, yes it stayed up all day. WE'RE ONLY HERE FOR A HOUR OR TWO! You must be a reject of the Chicago Public School system. Sounded to me like they got the 10-1 notification immediately to Zone 12 Disptchers. Once all the " i'm going, and i'm going" was over, 1520 arrived and gave an update. Not sure how this endangered anyone. City-Wide 1 had a dispatcher sending out the dispatch to her units, and Zone 12 had control of her units...where was the endangerement?
Oh, and yes it was a Special Operations Unit..Beat 4443 called the 10-1...forgot to add that SCC.
SCC, I hate to say it, as I support the Constitution AND the 4th Amendment (even when I have to stand on my 40+ year old legs and feet while wearing protective gear up to my head to defend the right of people to espouse their views who are not even old enough to vote!), but you should have cracked down on the BUMS who have been flooding this blog with posts that have been embarrassing to all in our profession a long, long time ago! Some of the stuff that has been allowed to sit here and fester for OVER A DAY has done nothing but encourage more of our more twisted brethren in blue to crawl out from the racist/sexist rocks that they've clung to for years. It's a shame that from now on people won't have an opportunity to be 100% honest in their posts, but some of the stuff was just too sick and way out of pocket for way too long. And to the sickies (OLE, and others, who constantly referred to people of color or women in less than acceptable terms), you can only blame yourself for your self inflicted gsw to BOTH of your feet!

Hindsight is 20/20 friend. We've already expressed our disappointment that it came to this. We've accepted that maybe we should have cracked down sooner. We just hoped that "this time" would be different. We thought with a little direction and encouragement, cops would see the light and contribute to a meaningful dialogue. Our bad.
We thought we could keep up with it and we had a few of the trolls tamed by just outlasting them and timing our cleanup to their active times. We just got worn out. As to the "trusted friends" monitoring the site, we believe in limiting the damage should anything untoward happen to us or our careers as a result of even having started this site. We've got all the help we need right now.

Just listening to zone12 it sounded more like someone shot a kid and that was it..........I felt it was poorly handled by the dispatchers.

It was SOS, attempting to put shithead in custody, rottweiler was put out of the house to attack officers. Officer gets bit by dog, dog shot, shithead hits officer with an ax handle in the head. I've only been reading/posting a few weeks and in that short time saw the downward spiral. Once again the minions of law and order has been able to shoot themselves in the foot. Historically Policer Officers has always found away to screw things up for their very own. I crossed my fingers hoping that NO MEDIA TYPES would take some of these opinions and try to sell them to the general public as factual representations of the men and women of the CPD. Its sad enough that we have a "FEW" who choose to use this blog as a sounding board for sexists, racist remarks. When will you guys realize that it only takes "ONE COP" to make all of us look bad. Hopefully the steps SCC was force to take will improve and uplift to correspondence between officers and visitors in the future

If you would have heard the initial call on City-Wide 1, you would not have been sure what the hell was going on for the first few minutes. Overall, everything turned out ok the officer will be fine. Why I do understand your points, the only thing that mattered was help arrived in a timely fashion.

I wasn't there, but when the danger to the PO is over, the zones are under a lot of pressure to get info to a number of places-it's not there fault, they are required to ask the questions that seem so annoying. If you can't answer yet, don't- but there is a reason they ask all those questions. It's their job-and a vast majority of them do it very, very well.

Just saw Ms. Monique Bond on TV. This is the same "police spokeswomen" that refers to offenders as "victims" after they (thankfully) were unsuccessfull in shooting the police and were then killed by the police. Ms. Monique Bond was on TV tonight stating twice that "unfortunately the dog was killed by the police." UNFORNTUNATELY???!!!! Ms. Bond talked more about the dog than the police officer that was attacked. Get rid of this fool! Why is she our spokes person? Oh, high paying job to do nothing! She must have clout! No friend of the police!!!!

sorta off topic but remember about a week ago our city alder-creatures wanted all dogs to have a microchip? I wonder how many of the dogs shot by police and how many of the dogs that bite people have a license? If only one had a license I might buy the city's argument for micro-chips. I would doubt if even one of these dog's owners has complied with the license requirement. But I, as a good citizen chump, am expected to. Thank goodness the cops are alright. Animal, in My opinion is a very accurate depiction of what we as Police deal with on a daily basis. Not 100%, but I will say 65-70%. The remaining 30-35% are the ones who have been victimized by the animal.
Excuse my being so cynical in my opinion, but anyone who disagrees with the FACT that 011, 015, and 025, as well as many other districts, are over populated with animals. They come in all colors so how dare some pompous African American, copper or not come here and defend these ignorant animals. It's not about taking sides, its about Being the Police. When you defend these assholes and correct or ridicule a fellow copper in fron of them, you are adding to the problem, and not calming shit.
The truth of the matter is....working in ghetto districts is rough. Whether they are predominantly black or hispanic, it's rough doing our business in the 'hood. I'll give you that.
The decent people that live there, work every day, maintain their homes, rarely (if ever) have contact with Police. They aren't "hanging out" with their gangbanger or drug slinging neighbors, and they won't let their children mix with them. Even at times when they are victims of crime, they won't call the police.
We might "stumble" across one of their neighbors in a criminal act, and arrest him/her, and they don't want their neighbors getting in their faces later, claiming that they "tricked" to the Police on them (because they saw a squad in front of their house). And yet, at times, when blocks go up and it gets ugly, I've had some of those decent, hardworking people that we rarely if ever have contact with seek out a supervisor and back up my version of events when it all goes to crap. Because they ARE decent people, and even though we rarely, if ever, have contact with them, they tend to know who WE are when we make that trek down their block several times a day, running the low life off the corners, off the porches of these decent folk, off of the cars of these decent people we rarely have contact with. And I can't say, because I wasn't there, but I'm hearing that some of our SOS brethren didn't really conduct themselves in a professional manner when that block on Parkside went up the other day. Again, I wasn't there, but I don't think a black officer could go into a white neighborhood and refer to white females as "white hoes" or white bitches" without some very serious ramifications! Remember that in the end, YOU are the trained professional, and it's up to all of us to REMAIN professional when there is chaos all around us. I have no expectations of the public treating me in a civil manner, and I'm not asking anyone here to take an ass kicking, but there ARE expectations of how WE are supposed to conduct ourselves when dealing with the public, even a HOSTILE public. The shame of 016. And 022. Districts with large numbers of police officer residents. Even bosses. Predominantly white. And yet, many of the P/O's who live in those districts complain of woefully incompetent Police service. Who is to blame for THAT?

I wonder, if you took about 50 Englewood or Fillmore P/O's and transplanted them into 016 0r 022, and removed the same number and placed them in
those FAST Districts, would the stats remain the same in 016 and 022? Just asking. Could the threat of doing so bring some of the dog-asses around? Hmmm......
for the person who wanted to know about the off duty in 016 who shot the dog....2 pit bulls jumped her fence, got into her yard and attacked her yellow lab. neighbors were screaming in her yard, they thought a child was being attacked. both dogs had her dog by it's neck mauling it, and her dog was defenseless. she shot the one pit (with it still on her dog), one shot didnt get the pit off her dog, the second one got the pit to let her dog go, and took 20 in her yard to finally die. (3 calls to oec by neighbors of vicious pit bulls running the neighborhood prior to incident). the second pit ran out of her yard at the very beginning of the mauling, or she would have shot that one too. there were many witnesses about 10 neighbors who observed her shoot the pit in her backyard. two clean shots, and it finally died. a fire family on the block owns the dogs, the other one was taken by animal control after it was captured in someone else's yard. that one will be put down shortly. her dog took 30 stitches to the neck, ear, and paw. but she is among the living and recovering. f'n pits, i HATE EM!!

By now, everyone should be aware that there is a video just waiting to be made when you show up. Lets beat them to the punch and put a video car out West with the P/O miked up. Then show the world what we deal with. Would they show it? Can we handle it?
Approximate area where these pit bulls attacked the lab??? There are a lot of people who park their cars around the forest preserve around Central/Elston area and let their dogs run free without leashes. They come from all over the place... When I was walking my two leashed dogs, some idiot's pit-mix comes running from the forest preserve straight at my dogs and this guy takes his sweet time getting his dog in control. It's almost like you have to walk with your weapon in your waistband just to walk your dogs.
the two pits involved in the attack were around peterson and melvina, by rosedale park. they got out their owner's yard (a fire family says someone left a gate open) they both had the zap collars on them, and those didnt help, because they still got out. the dog that was killed was involed in an attack a week prior to this incident, it had attacked another dog in the same manner. the off-duty didnt know that at the time of her attack, only found out when the beat car came to do the paper. at least they are off the street now, and will not go after you or anyone else's dog....
Channel 5 news is definitly slanted. watched it last nite waiting for Jay Leno and 2 of their lead stories were about bashing the police. One on the shooting of a gangbanger at clyborn and division prominently featuring fred hampton jr screaming about excessive force and the other about a po that didnt enforce the white cane law.

The View Said....The View is a half a retard....apparently the View has never been in a situation where he was in fear of his life...quite possibly the View has never worked the West Side and had a block empty out on him/her. I have, and let me tell you, you don't worry about keeping up community relations at that point. All you worry about is survival. I commend the 3 officers on the original scene for surviving and doing what they needed to do to go home to their families that night. BRAVO to them. THE BLACK SERGEANT WAS MORE CONCEARNED WITH HOW PEOPLE WERE BEING TALKED TO THEM OFFICER SAFTY. THEIR WAS NO CROWD CONTROL AT ALL.
