Unaware of History

Didn't Lt. (now Capt.) Farrell do this a couple of years ago?
  • Park Forest police officers shot a man overnight during an attempted robbery. Two plain-clothes officers were investigating a series of armed robberies of pizza deliverymen. The officers were posed as deliverymen in the 300 block of Oakwood when they were confronted by two men.

Investigators say the men demanded money and one pointed a gun at an officer.

Officers shot the man and the other man fled on foot but was caught.

Except that Farrell did it solo and managed to kill the goof. Still, we've got to be thankful that the criminal element still doesn't seem to learn from the mistakes of it's peers. Nice job Park Forest.

I think you're referring to that shooting in 024 where Alberto's drivers kept getting robbed. The officer knew he was about to be robbed and had his gun hidden under the pizza box.

The Lt, now Captain, is the best boss on this job. I'm sure he has been in some kind of situation like that before. I know of a few persons who offed/shot Robbery offenders posing as Pizza deliverymen after there was a pattern identified. It's happened before and I'm sure it will happen again.

There was a Lt who lived in 008 who shot a guy to death who tried to rob him in his own garage about 2 years ago with a BB gun, but it wasn't Farrell. I think he worked in 001 at the time, but don't recall his name.

NOTE TO EVERY P.O.

John Farrell also is the guy P.O.'s in need call (or should I say "request through the negotiator") when they're having mental breakdowns! That is to say, when IAD & SWAT are at your front door and you won't let them in.

Farrell has been requested on at least 2 seperate occassions and in BOTH situations the copper's best interests were met by the fuck'n best boss ever!

(Eat your heart out Fat Phil and all the other gold star vomit that sucks your ass on a daily basis).

Yes, John Farrell is a great guy, but he and Cline are friends. (They worked together in narcotics years ago). I am sure that Farrell is in the deuce on midnights because he wants to be.

To 1:50 - his initials are G.S. and it was NOT a BB gun. Then the piece of shit's brother threatened G.S. Justice was served as the brother "violated his parole".

Farrell was the boss of 4/VC when that shooting happened. Denis Walsh, (now Lt) was in the back seat as Farrell's cover. Farrell had the gun inside the box and the one victim (he shot two) said all he could see was the fire coming out of the box from that "crazy white man". He is the best!

According to the Slum-Times, it was a "replica semi-automatic pellet gun". Get ready Park Forest, here come the "Reverends".

Unrelated topic, but if you live on the west end of 008 watch your vehicles! It seems that Canine Officer Vody doesn't like her fellow officers and is writing B.S.(blocking sidewalk, no front plate, etc) parking tickets on their personal vehicles, me included. She was even confronted by a fellow officer(not me) in which she replied "I don't care, you can't park like that!"
Here I thought the City and Joe Citizen were the only ones we had to worry about, now even our own are screwing us!

ANOTHER GREAT BOSS - LT. MIKE MAHER, of the 015th district (May God Bless His Soul) did something very similar to this about 8 years ago.

Great Job Park Forest PD !!!

Sounds like the officer is doing their job to me. Why don't you just learn how to park legally instead of thinking that you're better than everyone else?

NO officer should be citing their fellow officers for parking irregularities in a Police station parking lot! If an officer's parking presents a problem, usually the WATCH COMMANDER obtains registered owner info, then contacts the officer personally (usually the officer is told to call the W/C). He/she is told in very direct terms to straighten out the mess pertaining to their car, and not to allow the infraction to occur again. Usually, that is enough to correct whatever it was that was brought to the Watch Commander's attention. Sometimes, as we all know, our brethren can be idiots. I've seen officers' personal vehicles towed from Police parking lots when repeated warnings were ignored (tinted windows, no front plates, other things that inspectors just loooove
to spot, and drag a sgt. into as a "witness" to the infraction). And sometimes, again, when repeated warnings are ignored, bosses have had P/O's cite specific vehicles for various infractions in the lot. It's a shame when bosses do this, because all they do is pit one patrolman against another. If the warnings are ignored regarding personal vehicle infractions, the boss should either cite the offending vehicle himself, or request/order the tow himself. The tows usually clear up the problem immediately. A shame it has to come to that sometimes, but unfortunately, those that are paid to enforce the law are sometimes the least willing to conform to it themselves.

The original poster was not referring to P.O's personal vehicles in a police parking lot. They stated "officers who live on the west end of 008". They were referring to personal vehicles parked illegally on the streets.

Mike Maher, definitely a saint....

First day as tact lt. gets a call from an antique dealer, says a guy called and said his grand ma died, has a house full of antiques, and will selll them to him for cash....

It was a snowy winter day....

Mike had a down jacket on....

Tony Graffeo went as his helper....

Guy said front door is locked gotta go around back....

Walks down the gangway, turns around, produces a gun, and says "Robbery"....

Mike and Tony produce their guns, identify their office, and kill one of the guys, and seriously wounds the other gentleman, who goes off running through the white snow....

Followed the trail to the crib....

Homy was in da tub, i think he died en route....

Bout the only problem was one of the backups fired a shot that to this day still defies explanation....

But hey it was 15, they were lucky only one extra guy popped a shot....

As George would say 15 ain't Paris after all....

Mike was and is a siant....
