Do You Know Who I Am??

Cook County style! From The Tribune and Sun Times:
  • After being cut off from liquor and refusing to leave a Joliet casino, a high-level Cook County prosecutor was charged with misdemeanor trespassing, police said today.

As is standard practice in such cases, Assistant State's Atty. Scott Cassidy, 49, has been assigned to desk duty pending resolution of the charge, said John Gorman, spokesman for the Cook County state's attorney's office.
  • Cassidy, the bureau chief of special prosecutions, has been relieved of his courtroom duties and reassigned to desk duty pending the outcome of the case, said John Gorman, a spokesman for the Cook County state's attorney's office.
Nice to know that Cook County nepotism and ASA's too big for their own britches still exist out there.

The ASA is Scott Cassidy. He is not prosecuting the 4 SOS guys. He is not the head of Public Integrity. He is the head of the Special Prosecutions Bureau which covers Gangs, Cold Case Unit, and Narcotics. He's a good guy, and pro police. Looks like he had to much booze and messed up. Also it's been verified that KH of the SOS four did attempt suicide by trying to cut himself with a light bulb, then ate the bulb when he could not cut himself enough. He's in division 8 were patients are kept.

Does this mean they're going to go after him, balls out, like they did with the "SOS 4"? I mean, granted, it's only a misdemeanor, but aren't those a bit easier to try in court, anyway?

Scott Cassidy is an arrogant, belligerent alcoholic. He has serious issues with authority, most recently the Joliet PD.

This explains his sadistic pleasure in prosecuting innocent police officers.

Wow, i can't believe that story. I know the guy very well and he is one of the nicest, kindest persons i've ever met and also a great family man. I feel for him and it just goes to show you that alcohol can make anyone act differently than they normally would. That's not to say that it's ok to use that as an excuse, but i think everyone can relate that they've done some things drunk that they never would have done sober.

Sorry to hijack a thread but a quick shout out to Pope Benedict for calling out Islamo-fascists:

"The emperor comes to speak about the issue of jihad, holy war," Benedict said. "He said, I quote, 'Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.'"

Well if this ASA had any political common sense, he should know that he is in the heartland of DuPage Co.- Republicans. If he would of kept his mouth shout he would of gotten away with it. But, the coppers knew he is a Democrat and got treated like one.

Off topic, but typical...
On Thursday the House of Represenatives passed the Secure Fence Act of 2006 in an effort to build a 700 mile fence on the border. The Secure Fence Act passed on a vote of 283-138, with 131 Democrats voting against the measure -- Dennis Hastart (IL-R)said "this is something that should concern the American people. They [Democrats] don't want border security; instead they would rather jeopardize our national security and put Americans at risk,".
131 Democrats voted against it! WTF? Remember this the next time you vote straight Democrat because that used to be the Chicago thing to do. And that idiotic straight Dem old school vote is the exact reason they put polling places in nursing homes. The residents all think they are voting for Rosevelt or Kennedy, but instead we get Raham and Obama yo momma, both of whom profess allegiance to other nations (Isreal and Kenya)! What a joke. The Dems could care less about the welfare of America. They just want more stupid voters [illegals]to retain their power and we just sit around and complain about it.

Big deal, a drunken Irishman in Joliet...........So exactly how is this going to help these guys from SOS.....NADA! NYET! NIL! Nothing, the case we go on, with or without Cassidy. I've seen coppers act the same way on Western Ave at closing time, and these are drunks with guns and an above the law attitude to go with it. This incident will not change one iota of evidence or any of the allegations. This doesn't rank as a hollow victory for those who feel that the Officers in question are being railroaded, more like spitting into the wind

In a federal suit filed Friday, a woman accused a Harvey police officer of forcing her to perform sexual acts on him after he pulled her over for a traffic violation last year. The suit alleges that the officer followed Ranicka Stone to her home in May 2005 so that she could get proper identification after he pulled her over. The officer then ordered Stone to perform a sexual act on him to avoid being taken to the police station, the suit said. Stone complied, but took the used condom to the Harvey Police station later that day. According to the suit, the officer pleaded guilty to official misconduct and resigned.

Now Scott Cassidy knows how Mel Gibson feels......if he is Head of prosecution for narcotics isn't it his decision to dump all the SOS Four cases?? And if he is such a great family man why wasn't he home wher he belongs?? Just wondering....if its all legit........

Scott Cassidy is a decent guy. So he fucked up and had a few too many beers or whatever, who hasn't.
The little girl mentality of some of the so called Police on here is a total embarrassment. Good luck Scott.

A pro-police prosecutor from the Gangs section gets jammed up and you beat him up over SOS. One has nothing to do with the other. Don't let that stop you from screaming your opinion. You are the Chicago Police...you run it. The city got you out of the moving truck or security job. You left your parents basement by 30yoa and you know how to sandbag 15 minutes on the front of your lunch. You've seen it all and done it all. Now please give me some more of your brilliant opinions that you pulled out of your ass without any facts.

I've known Scott for 7-8 years. He's a great guy and loves the police. He's a straight up dude. He and his crew consistently take the worst cases and get convictions. So he likes his pops, big deal. We all have screwed up when we've been drunk.

I'm not a person who would post on this forum or any other for that matter. But I feel compelled to say that the ASA you belittle is definitely been a friend of the police. Anyone out there ever had him as the ASA that tried a case they were involved in will back me up on that. He has family on this job as well. Good hard working and commited to the job. I would also say that the ASA probably knows more about this job and how to do it better than anyone who would post their arrogant, ignorant opinion.
I invite anyone who ever met the MAN to dispell my opinion with facts to contrary. Only be prepared to look in the mirror and admit that you are either a DOG or a poor prepared police officer.

Scott Cassidy is a good guy and a friend to the Police. His brother was one of the best Detectives I ever worked with and was royally sandbagged in the Ryan Harris murder. Oh, by the way, LEOMEMORIAL, stop talking shit about things you know nothing about, go be the Police groupie you are and quit acting like you're on our job..YOU'RE NOT! We all saw how goofy you are when you snapped pics of coppers on a street stop..

Get it straight about KH trying to commit suicide. Its not true! If ANY officer is arrested and put in county then they are required to go to psych ward for 2 days before they go to general pop. So that means all 4 SOS guys were there and were released with NO problems. This is how rumors spread! Get the facts first.
