No More Logos Shirts or Hats
This is rapidly becoming one giant "No Fun Zone." The Department we mean. How about this story:
- Chicago Police are investigating whether two plainclothes officers wore baseball hats that read "U.S. Border Patrol" on duty on the Northwest Side last week.
- Ernesto Cruz, 21, told police the two Albany Park District officers asked him about his immigration status, a question that is generally prohibited by city ordinance and police general orders, police and city officials said.
- "To us it was clear they were posing as border patrol agents,'' said Jenny Arwade, executive director of the Albany Park Neighborhood Council.
What we absolutely love is the fact that the news media and the City Administration throw this comment out there and the general public just accepts it at face value:

THAT is priceless. What do you think the general public would think if we suddenly stopped enforcing the Burglary statutes? Or the laws covering Armed Robbery? Homicide? But the leftists have completely cowed the public and the law enforcement arm of the City into NOT enforcing the laws regarding immigration, OR EVEN ASKING ABOUT THE STATUS OF ILLEGALS!
You wonder why big cities are awash in illegals? Look no further than this. We are being told not to enforce laws, or even conduct what could be considered a reasonably competent investigation. Would it be a good use of the limited resources we have? Maybe not. But when you are ordered to lose the fight before it's even begun, you're screwed.

A.) Since when is Chicago on the boarder-even if someone wanted to pose as something related to illegal immigration, I'd think an Immigration agent might make more sense.
B.) Asside from enforcing immigration (which we are not allowed to do) there are numerous legit reasons to ask what immigration status someone is. To match them to a 'previously deported' that shows up on the pdt-or perhaps to determine a motive for lying about identity-or making small talk to throw them off from the real legit reason of the stop.
C.)This is just one more example of blaming the police for society's ills. Oh...you shot a kid with a bb gun-it's the police's fault his family doesn't love him until a lawsuit comes around. Wait...you questioned someone's immigration status-how dare you ask someone if he's breaking a law that rich liberals who are unaffected by the areas illegals gravitate towards don't live in. It's the police's fault Mexico sucks and everyone wants to come to the U.S.
D.)If you're from the neighborhood group-your complaint is with the law, not the police. You should be happy there are cops talking to residents in the area. Maybe they should just stay stay in the car. It's amazing how the places that benefit from the police presence the most, need the police presence the most, alternately tell them to go away the complain their not their when you need them.

What is more laughable, is that the City cannot fire anyone for violating the ordinance. If they did, the Federal lawsuit would be a doozy. They may lose all Federal funding until they are in compliance with statutes requiring the reporting of federal criminals, e.g. ILLEGAL ALIENS.
Why is it illegal to ask about ones immigration status. If they are suspected illigal immigrants they should be asked or questioned just like an officer would question a suspect in a burglary, robbery etc. I thought we swore to uphold all laws. IF you question a suspected illegal you might find no only that he or her is illegal but that the wack-job aldermans or womans has already registered them to VOTE. There isn't and that's why we don't inquire. . . it's none of our business nor more than it is our business whether an arrestee is straight, gay, lesbian, married, single, etc. Being undocumented is a status crime at best and its federal not state or local, therefore there is no legitimate reason, without further info, to inquire into someone's residency status.
There is also the public policy concern that if aliens are afraid of being deported that they will not report crimes to the police whether committed aainst themselves or others. That is a much bigger concern than whether someone crossed the boarder without permission.
I'd also ask you to consider how many time you would ask an Irishman, a Serb, a Croat, or a polish indivdual whether they were illegal or not. Yet, a large number of the illegals in Chicago are from these nationalities.
Does that mean I cant wear my hat that reads... "LINK INVESTIGATOR" or "CHA INSPECTOR" if I work in the Ghetto? Will I cause a stir if I wear my "IRS" golf cap in Sauganash? I know I'll wear my "ETHICS POLICE" shirt next time I'm working around City Hall... That will cause a riot.

Yea you are right on that, Mexicans don't fly they are usually driving beat-up cars illegally without licenses or insurance, many times intoxicated.
Those who are here ILLEGALLY must leave and may return by following immigration rules to enter and stay here. You wanna stay here do it the right way. You don't have any right to stay in America if you came here illegally. You would be more welcomed if you learned the language, pay taxes and stop demanding for every handout there is. If you don't like it, start walking south.
You don't hear of Canadians coming by the masses here illegally draining this country to shit and we also share a border.

TV shows here in the 1980s and 90s. Then our goof of a mayor chases them out of town, starves the small businesses out and looks like a fool when he complains thet the movie, CHICAGO was made in Toronto.
