- Hundreds of police officers showed up to keep the peace at what was supposed to be an anti-war rally Saturday afternoon. Police are now calling it a waste of resources after the protesters did not show.
- It's a mix up that will cost tax payers tens of thousands of dollars. The anti-war demonstration at Washington Square was supposed to start at noon and the Chicago Police Department was ready. But the protesters were a no show, and police say it was a big waste of time and money.
Hope they can bill someone for this.

When over half of 1st watch in the districts I have contacts in are riding 99, I'm thinking we are short somewhere.

They should bill that asshole that got the permit for the protest. I can see them doing this on regular basis now, getting permits for protests that wont take place. I'ts a great legal way to make the city spend lots of money for no good reason. And knowing the people that run the Districts downtown, they will spend plenty of money from the city to keep people out of Michigan ave. To bad the day wasnt a bit warmer, there would have been twice as many hot broads out there. It was a great day for the troops out there, fresh air, women and not having to listen any babys momma drama...
What about "POLICE INTELLIGENCE" I know its an oxymoron, but is the department really so inept that they didnt know about this? Oh yeah, guys that work in that unit on on a S&S dog.

Check the A & A sheets for 3rd and 1st Watches citywide. There are no districts working with a full crew anywhere! Beats are routinely put down or sent out 99 due to a lack of manpower.
Wagons down or sent out as beat cars answering calls and writing paper when they are needed to haul ass and not available, or cars have to go into the station to bring the wagon out (wasting time and putting officers at risk of injury).
Remove the dicks, tru, sick, injured, 35th street mouses, and detailed out officers and you will find that not many are minding the store.
Every shift, officers are being denied time due, baby furlos, furlo extensions, because of a lack of manpower.
If you see this as acceptable, you need better meds and a change of venue.
