Storm the Castle!
Or at least run over to the County Building and look like a bunch of knuckleheads. Why didn't anyone bring the torches? If you burn down a building or two and barbecue the hiring records, people might sit up and take notice.

Tony? Better luck next time.
Cook County voters? Congrats. You'll find the property tax increases in the mail come springtime. Don't say we didn't warn you.

Burning down 69 W. Washington? Been there done that. Congrats to the lemming democratic voters. I hope this your year to leap off the cliff.
Looks like Judge Colleen Sheehan garnered 80% yes votes( 330,000) to 20% No(79,000). She got more approval than Urso!

As I stated before, it was going to be a precinct captain's election "Boys and Girl's"
The captains got out the vote and the Democrats prevailed. with the main concern being for Todd Stroger.
Sorry guys, but I told you so!!!
i don't understand how so many people in the city and especially in the suburbs could have possibly voted for stroger? it just doesn't seem like that is right, ok he could win but by that many votes? something smells like an old 60's style election here
For everyone who is always complaining about anything and everything on the CPD here are some good rules to live by while at work. Follow these and the 8 hours should go by really smooth:
___Rules defining relationships with other cops:
1. watch out for your partner 1st and the rest of the guys on the watch.
2. don't give up another copper.
3. grow some balls
4. be aggressive when you have to, but dont be too eager
5. hold up your end of the work
6. Don't trust the new guy until you have checked him out.
7 DON'T tell anbody else more than they have to know, it could be bad for you and it could be bad for them.
8. DOn't talk to much or too little. both are suspicious.
9. don't leave work for the next tour.
10. If you get caught somewhere you aren't supposed to be don't implicate anybody else.
11. Make sure the other guys on the watch if another cop is dangerous.
_____Rules when dealing with bosses:
1. protect your ass (if the system wants to get you they will)
2. don't make waves. Bosses pay attention to troublemakers
3. don't give them too much activity. Don't be too eager.
4. keep out of the way of any boss from outside your district.
5. don't look for favors just for yourself.
6. don't take on a boss by yourself
7. know what bosses you are working for (who is your sector sgt. or desk sgt.)
8 DON'T do bosses work for them
9 DON'T TRUST BOSSES TO LOOK OUT FOR YOUR INTERESTS.
Peraica for mayor !!
The reason she as well as others won is because we as an entity do NOTHING and I do mean NOTHING to get our message out,no matter what that message is. When we have a shooting incident which is 100% good, justifiable etc., one in which you know the family will be on television telling everybody what a great guy little Jonny was and how COULD the big bad evil Police shoot him, so what if he pointed a gun at them they could have shot it out of his hand, what do we (we meaning the FOP)do? Nothing, thats what WE do. Why aren't WE on television telling our side of the story? Why don't WE (read FOP)we have a professional public relations liason getting our message out? Why do we have to listen to the family tell THIER story when we could have a FOP public relations type who knows how to handle the media and what to say, talking up our side. Instead we get Monique Bond who talks and talks and says nothing. Same thing with the election of judges. If the rejection of certain judges or political figures is so important to us, why aren't we taking a page from all these political hacks that you see lurking at the polls on election day handing out palm cards? I propose that we do just that. WE should be standing at polling places on election day handing out palm cards or flyers asking voters not to vote for certain judges. If the palm card is done in a concise, articulate intelligent manner I'd bet that most people who don't know the judges anyway, would vote our way. I think that if the average Joe Blow knew that Judge Brooks released Tolliver several times before he murdered officer Ceriale they would vote no for his retention. But thats the problem, they DON"T know. Why? Because nobody tells them, thats why. Wheres the FOP on this matter? Why isn't the FOP making an organized effort to get our message out about who these judges are and why they shouldn't be voted back in. If the average person knew that Judge Sheehan found the Mondale sisters innocent despite testimony from SEVERAL people about thier actions that night, do you think there is a chance that the voters would vote her back in? I say no. I know that at least one FOP rep lives near me and votes where I vote. We both could take turns standing at the polling place where we vote and pass out palmcards indicating what we would like. He does six hours, I do the other six. Or he does three hours, his wife does the other three. My wife and I replace them, same thing three and three. We may not be able to hit ALL polling places but if we got a sizeable percentage wouldn't that be better than the way we are doing it now? Think about it. How hard would it be for you to give up say three or six hours of your year to help get an anti police judge off the bench?
An endorsement by the FOP for a person up for election is meaningless and laughable because the FOP does NOTHING to get that person elected or not elected. Politicians and judges could care less what we or the FOP think about thier candidacy because we don't back up that endorsement or that rejection with action. We give lip service, thats all. And then we complain when people like Brooks and Sheehan get re-elected (and laugh at us). The FOP is in many ways just like the Chicago Police Department. All show and no go. Not because they have to be but because thats the way they CHOOSE to be.
I think I said Mondale sisters. I should have said Hatch sisters.
Additional rules: I have been a supervisor for almost 9 years now and I like your rules but let me add a few more. Once you know your boss don't middle him. He will probably help you out if you let him. Let him know what you are doing and he can help cover for you when you need it. I always have. Don't leave him holding the bag or he may cover for you but you will regret it later. Use some common (uncommon) sense.
So what........would it have been any different had it been the other way around...did you catch the Mook sitting on top of the opened box of ballots........what was that about......
Man, I did something I traditionally don't do, actually voted for a REPUBLICAN for CCBP.
And what does Peraica do? Goes and shows he's just as piss poor a sore loser as Gore was, making all kinds of demands at 69 W. Washington. Even though I voted for the guy, I'm glad he didn't win now. What a whining little bitch!
keep it simple:
DON'T TRUST ANYONE
DO YOUR JOB AND GO HOME PERIOD
Hey Mr. 11/09/2006 02:54:07 AM ,
very interesting "rules" you have there. If you aren't doing anything illegal, than 75% of your bullshit doesn't matter, now does it?
How about amending your "rules" to say, " If you're on this job, you are old enough to know right from wrong. Do the Right thing. If you do the wrong thing and get caught don't act like a shithead and lie and point fingers at everyone else. Take your weight."
It amazes me how many coppers still think personal responsibility only applies to civilians and bosses.
THANK A VETERAN FOR YOUR FREEDOM THIS SATURDAY!!!!

Hey 02:54, some of your rules are good, but most sound like the doctrine that leads to the Finnigan Four. Sounds like you spend waaay too much time worrying about CYA for the shit you aren't supposed to be doing anyway. Good luck with that.
tODD, tODD, tODD, tODD?
ODD isn't it?
This town ain't ready for reform!

Amen.
FOP is in many ways just like the Chicago Police Department. All show and no go. Not because they have to be but because thats the way they CHOOSE to be.

Why is FOP the way it is because the rank and file who even bother to show up at meetings are sheep. The rest and that is the majority don't give a sh&t and allow themselves to remain clueless only crying to FOP when they get jammed to come and attempt to fix their problem. It's ignorance at the max. The majority that do go to the meetings really don't look at the reality of their Yay votes. The Officer's merely want someone to see their physical presence, so as to fit in and play a part of were strong theory of illusion, were one united front false image or to catch up with old buddies and gossip.
Those that do get up and speak out are set up by the lodge will little one on one side note comments, as an example... Lodge board person's tells another that officer has been complaining about the same thing for years chuckle, chuckle, wink, wink! The Officer's speaking out for the most part are merely played off as malcontents and complainer's. If a motion is made the mass at the meeting will unknowingly read the body language of the President or whom ever may be presiding and vote with their way at their whim. Trust this It's all in leadership's body language and the ignorance of the power the Officer's hold as a whole. They do surrender their power without even a clue. No matter how much the few that do speak out try to motivate them to use their true voice and power to actually wake up, it's an apparent waste. Month after month year after year. The true voice leading is now filled with ignorance of contract knowledge and a false sense of being part of something big known only as the FOP false illusion.
Sorry Mass your merely part of the $18.25 per pay period $36.50 per mth $438 a yr an occasional beer 9 x's a mth if you even bother to show and hang with roughly 3-4 cook outs a yr. and an FOP mini yearly help book with one star logo FOP medallion and two family stickers.
Each and everyone of you with that bad gun on your hip with the big star on your chest are only afraid of standing out and being a true voice for positive change, can you imagine? God for bid you should ever have the silly stigma feeling of merely appearing as a malcontent, different from other's and not the popular playground child accepted by the FOP group control mentality of no change. Which serves only the few FOP Executive Board members you happened to elect to represent you by either voting a straight ticket or failing to even bother to vote.
God forbid Big Bad Gun of having to experience the remote possible feeling at a meeting of not just appearing unpopular but unaccepted wee little children as well. You have doomed yourselves as sheep following in fear of nothing to fear and gave it a weak voice to be manipulated by the City via Lodge's false representation illusion which you allowed to fester and thereby created.
This is a Democrat County. Lisa Madigan was not qualified when she won, but have done a great job since winning. Todd has more experience than Puke has, and not a political underling of a already convicted felon Betty M. Puke should have shamed you for voting for him by the way he has acted since losing. Also the northwest side don't turn out as many democratic votes as the 8th ward, matter of fact no was does. THANKS FOR PICKING A CRY BABY LOSER.

vSo. Be careful what you ask (vote) for-you may just get it.
Coldtype: Your point #1 is, sadly, right on. True Capitalism, the noble ideal, has been infested by parasitic political greedheads from both parties. Tell your grandchildren, their faces reflecting disbelief: "Once there was a group called the middle class..." Only Morlocks and Eloys left soon. Use of taboo phrases will be punishable by death. Words like "tax cut," "pension,“, “mine,“ and “I disagree.” The only wee bit of a silver lining I can see in these end times is the political gridlock. Usually good for the equities market and I am weighted heavily that way. “Look Ma, no bonds!”
Almost forgot. Who’s spinning in their grave today? Let’s see: Ayn Rand (again), Thomas Paine, Raoul Duke, Dr. Benway, H.G. Welles, George Orwell and every brave, ballsy, go fuck yourself-spouting Freemason signer of the Declaration of Independence.
Nothing ever came of it because another daley friend manages the building!
The friend has many other daley related items his name is elzie higglebottom lots of contracts!
Fire David Orr!!! Election results were faster and more accurate in Iraqi elections than Chicago.
