Our 009 Dist DC personally thanked us all for the excellent job that we are doing in 009. He told us how proud he is that we are his officers. He told us that T.A was just an aberration on CPD and that the citizens love the work we provide. He is happy to have such great officers.

regarding 1:17 am....the guy tosses the gun on the tru unit....I was woking when that happened, tru was on citywide, did not get it on zone 9, as usual, zone said that they were in 3 different places, not the zones fault, they weren't being told anything either. first it was somewhere on 57 then somewhere on the ramp then somewhere on halsted. And the chopper did respond, they couldn't get any info either, because tru is worried that someone else might get the pinch/credit. In the meantime the gun was not found, I hope some scumbag doesn't find it to hurt a copper or someone else.
I've never seen the Superintendent look sooooooo buff and soooooo TOUGH!!! I think he can take Abbatte any day!!! I'll never thumb wrestle the Superintendent EVER!!!!!

did.
Had tac and gang teams stand in alleys and gangways during New Years Eve waiting for shots fired.
Pre-Cline bosses came in role call and stated stay out of sight(viaduct) 1/4 before and after. No sense getting hit by a stray bullet. Fat ass has you standing in harms way. Nice job of looking after the patrol division.
If a copper would of got killed good lock finding the shooter and even better luck at seeing them get any real time. Remember, intent. You are expendable for his role.
I was n/b on I-57 about 2300hrs last night an saw all the police activity there in 005 district.
In defense of those involved officers, I live in that neighborhood and probably couldn't give an accurate location had I been involved. I saw CPD blue on the hazardously narrow shoulders of I-57 (remember everything is reduced due to construction), on the ramps, down in the construction areas inside the cloverleafs (ramps), on the railroad tunnels/tracks, and on the local surface streets.
Lets face it our officers tried. My hats off to them.
BUT, the incentive to escape by the Badguy far outweighs that of the officer to catch him! Through no fault of the officers..mind you! But by a society that has spoken through the media, the courts, and the legislators to give more rights and (excuses) to the Bad guy and in the end TIE THE HANDS OF THE POLICE>
AMERICA HAS GOTTON THE POLICE SERVICE IT DESERVES and IT ASKED FOR!
So go do your jobs as outlined in the G.O.s and S.O.s, no more and no less and go home safely to your families. Then ride off into the sun-set to enjoy a well deserved retirement.
And let the criminal take over the vast majority of the inner cities until in the future the Military has to go in and clean house to restore order. (Ex: martial law, curfew, etc)

I say GOOD. There is no more CHA or "jungle" left in the Greens or Ickies. The majority of it is vacant and boarded up. Those complaining are just pissed because they can't make their time and a half sleeping in the vans anymore.

There is a reason that from 1965 to 1975 there were 54 Chicago police officers killed in the line of duty.
From 1995 to 2005 only 18 were killed in the line of duty.
The difference? Giving our boys the equipment and training to do the job.
