Got to Love Ms. America 1944
- WAYNESBURG, Ky. Miss America 1944 has a talent that likely has never appeared on a beauty pageant stage: She fired a handgun to shoot out a vehicle's tires and stop an intruder.
Venus Ramey, 82, confronted a man on her farm in south-central Kentucky last week after she saw her dog run into a storage building where thieves had previously made off with old farm equipment.
Ramey said the man told her he would leave. "I said, 'Oh, no you won't,' and I shot their tires so they couldn't leave," Ramey said.
To all the gun grabbers and liberals out there, where were the police when she needed them? Damn good thing she had a gun and knew how to use it.

God bless miss AMERICA! Happy she is ok! We need more brave people like this to kill the scum that try to hurt us! better to bury all the trash than have it keep on polluting!
It's a good thing she does not live in Chicago because she'd be charged with a string of felony crimes. Mayor Richie would make an example of her as a gun terrorist.

She's lucky she didn't get killed by the thieves after she shot out their tires. She would have been smarter to keep her bullets to protect herself rather than keep the thieves there.
This sounds like an agg. batt. to me. Shooting at someone, than shooting his tires out? Cops should lock up the trailer park trash..

I think that if the CPD gets Ramsey as a Super the whole Fuckin' Dept. will fall apart. I don't know how he ever made to a Deputy on the Dept. Someone must have owed him BIG favor. As a patrolman in the 10th Dist back in the day he was a DOGASS steady 3rd watcher . He never did "SHIT" If he gets in you will see a lot of ASSHOLES in supervisory positions . He was a dog , he still is a dog and will always be a dog.

I would have to agree with yesterday's poster (at 6:30AM). Granny would have been smarter to save the bullets to protect herself. "old farm equipment?"

What if she shot a nearby child with her gun blasting? She is dangerous! Even the police can't shoot at bad guys cars to prevent escape.

YES THEY CAN! Just not in Illinois. Check out laws in other parts(the not so liberal parts) of the nation. Remember, this didn't happen in this state.
Americas Greatest Generation!!!She obviously knows how to solve a problem and take care of herself.

Yea well you know I work my arse off for everything I own, and miss out on my family, friends, and carry a huge amount of stress related illness from it all. My belongings I am going to protect. I'm not on welfare, I don't have a free roof with air and heat, I don't have food stamps coming in. Do I have a right here in the United States to protect what is mine. Absolutely ! If I want to kill an intruder to my home or property that should be my right. Its also MY moral call if I want to take someones life stealing from me. Glad Granny shot at him. That was her farm equipment old or new, what's the difference?? What kind of freak was he that he had to steal from an 88 yo women??
