We're figuring on a female. Just from what the mayor has let slip and the whispers here and there, a female is almost a lock at this point.
And the last two or three Superintendents have all come out of Investigative Services.
The bigger question is the new First Deputy - do they get to run the Department like First Deputies of olden days or are they an emasculated figurehead like our current First?

I think the only logical choice for the superintendent job is Captain John Farrell (002) I know that Richie is seriously considering a female, but I think Farrell would compromise and wear a dress everyday! It's not like he hasn't worn one before. He's got really good legs, ya know!

The only female in a top spot that has ever been the police is Tina Skahill. If it is going to be female hope for her. There are a few female Lt's that could handle it and know their shit but they are not meritorious and have no clout. They will go no higher.

KIRBY. Would love to meet you in an alley with my baseball bat, and unlike the the out going big guy I won't get tired after swinging it a couple of times. The very sober officers don't drink, were respectful and identified themselves off the bat. When you clowns are in some shit do you ever consider the fact that some P.O. of a darker persuasion might save your ass, or do you give them a wave off.

See, the problem with this department is it needs a change. A woman can make a diffenence and make sense of things. How many times out of our mouths we say " Well, thats the city for you". Let's give it a chance. We gave Cline a chance for several years and look what happend. Our police department is in the media for couple of incidents and he backs out in the time when we need to be strong. This does not give us a good image. 010th district commander has no problem controlling her district. We have our mothers and wives take care of our homes why not have this woman have our nomination.
If I was a gambling person....I'd bet it would be Huberman. However, very good rumor states he is leaving soon, very soon, to work in private sector....What will the CPD do without him? Oh wait, you have to do that minority set aside contract crap. Fuck that, lives are on the line, get the pdt's into the cars. Some poor beat guy won't get his assignment, someone will get killed waiting for the responding car, the copper gets hung, the city gets sued, pays 5 milloin in a settlement. Get out in front, use 5 million to get the fucking things INTO THE CARS. They didn't have to wait to get the GPS's into the sos cars. If they want it it will be done.

Fuck the coffee, I went balls out to a new townhouse development with high brick walls and iron gates that hindered my entry into the complex. The victim was still on the phone talking with OEMC and stated she heard the offender in the condo. The dispatcher stated the victim was screaming. Approximately fifteen cars from 018 show up and we are all trying desparately to enter the gated complex. Finally, several younger guys vault over a wall, unlock a gate, and let the rest of us in. At least twenty-five policemen were present, and all were white and hispanic. Hey what about that "afro-noons" shit those carpetbaggers once boasted of-the "brothers" taking over 018. Guess they were just late, again, to role call, down on a personal, or at lunch.
A few years later three persons are shot in a drive-by at Jackson and Kostner including a nine-year-old girl shot in the stomach. What kind of P*ssy Sgt would do that? One of the beats in my district wanted only black officers to patrol the beat. The commander said No Way. The police are the police.
I remember a time where a fine upstanding citizen called the police for whatever reason. When I got there she told me to leave bcuz she wanted to speak to a black officer. I coded the job & left and told the dispatcher that I wanted any jobs that came out at that address. So when the lady called back, I responded again. I told her that I was all she was going to get. Well her problem wasn't as big as the one that she had with my race, bcuz she didn't call again.

Hey, 1205 am, Superstar, 15 to 25 jobs during a shift has been the norm in alot of districts for a long time, not just the last 5 years or so, like in 008. FYI, 8 used to be known as the retirement district, sorry u have to do some work now. 2 bad u didn't catch the sincere compliment at the end. It is good to see some police presence, it was not like that for a long time. That district should really be cut in half, but 4 and 16 also have to travel many miles to some jobs, and you don't hear them crying about it. I actually agree with you, so untwist your panties.

After reading some of the comments left on this page, I really hope that none of the "pool of qualified individuals" for Superintendent are coming from this page. It's ok to have fun, but "Fuck you; you fucking idiot; bitch; fag; asshat" are words commonly used by uneducated people with small, or closed minds.
It's amazing that many of us can see a fellow police officer as a man, or woman in blue, but many of you are stuck in a period of time that prohibits you from seeing the big picture.
I won't go as far as to invoke the name of the same FATHER that we all share, but I will continue to place my knees on the floor, fold my hands together, and ask him that he continues to watch over us. Maybe one day, we can actually be the family that we are supposed to be.
Also, many of you should consider that this page is assessible to all public, so please try to refrain from supplying "gangbangers" with too much intelligence. For those with small minds, that was what some called an oxymoron. HAHA!
