Superintendent Speculation
The transfer order was out this past Friday and quite a few moves in and out of 35th Street. At least 4 lieutenants were moved and upwards of 15 sergeants got new spots. Quite a few of these moves were of people who haven't been outside in years and actually served at HQ for quite a long while.
Here's the speculation though:

- Who will be the first exempts moved when the new supe is installed? Because you know that there are going to be a mess of substitutions. Some of these new moves will be rescinded before the year is out.
- Who will be the resignations? Because rumor has it there will be a boatload of them.

Lots of clout moved around in the latest transfer order, especially
the Lts. and Sgts.
ALLLL of the exempts should go! Don't keep anyone of them, all, if not most, of them are guilty of micro managing, and morale degradation (a new charge for the ILCS).
After Biggane didn't make meritorious Lt. they had to send her home from area 1 crying. I guess that theu have to send her now to the vice section to make up for it. She is one of the biggest do nothing housecats ever.

There are no changes yet old timer. There won't be any major moves until a new Supe is in place. But rest assured, SCC will have them all over the place as soon as they're available.

Crawl back under your rock, its old already!
The dept is full of boss goofs. Look at who made sgt recently. Some of those people never have handled a major incident or been involved in one. You think they are going to be able to make heads or tails out of something big when its their job to supervise. I feel sorry for the poor bastard that shoots and kills an animal and the book smart non street smart sgt arrives only to defer to her/his book.
This dept has taken a turn for the extreme worst over the past 10 yrs.
I am so glad I will be out of here in 6 months.
THe worst thing they ever did was make being a college grad a requirement to get supervisory promotions. That has been the downfall of all police departments nationwide.
Bring back the street smart, common sense bosses , promote the people who know how to be the police, not the ones that can read about being the police.
I heard Mark Donahue put in for Supt. It would be a raise from his $180,000 now. Good luck Mark. Hopefully in the words of Hawk, "Mark gone."

I worked TARA last night, was on the wagon and all we did was transports to and from the district that I work in to the area. It was an easy 8 for the time and a half. During the tour we got stuck in the hospital for the just about half the tour with a nut job, we didn't get a lunch. I went into the station to check off with the WC, I asked about the lunch, they said I could fill out a slip but had to stay until 830. Is this TECHNICALLY how it should be done or did I get bamboosled? Just curious, I actually don't care because I got one over on the city but it kinda didn't seem fair.
Network is locked. I tried it a while back and found out that the only computers that can access the networks are those with addresses registered on the network. Other computers are locked out automatically. Furthermore, the eye in sky can determine where the hacker was trying to get in. IOW's if your trying to use your personal computer to hack into the system in the 012th District W/C office, the people downtown will know it and can identify your computer address and your location. Be afraid, be very afraid. . .

technically, the wc is correct.. You did not get bamboozled. Actually, you had a cush tour at time and a half, and by your own admission you got one over on the city. you are on the clock till 830. If you expect a wc to fill out a slip for you, when you are not from that dist and are complaining about a missed lunch, than I can see him expecting you to stay till 830. Could he have been cool and cut you , filled out a slip? Yup. Probbably should have. I would have, but thats why i will always have a blue collar. But he didnt, probbably cause you are not from his dist, or perhaps because he knows that there has NEVER been a wagoneer who 1. got wet or 2. went hungry. I know this for a fact, as I work a wagon now and again. Next time, grab a 1 bagger on the way in. You dont work there anyway, might as well take your time and get paid! Then you get court too! I know Hiram Grau. he is a great guy and would make a good Superintendent. He is one of the low key people in the brain trust. He knows how to run major investigations and more important he knows how to treat people decently.
Keaqting is also a good pick for First Deputy. I worked with him over twenty five years ago and he was a smart, tough, good street cop.
As to all the whining and moaning about who the final pick will be- it is the Mayor's right to pick who ever he wants, even Bozo or Seiser. He also has lots of busses to throw people under so who knows how long the next Supt. and First Dep. will last- hoepfully longer the Richies first tantrum with them.
