Checkerboard Chic Gone?
When we started this site a couple of years ago, we thought we might happen to inspire some other astute individuals to kind of coalesce into an informal network of bloggers to keep everyone informed, amused and in the loop.
Unfortunately, we've now outlasted SecondCityRookie, SecondCityDick and now Checkerboard Chic. The dispatcher blogs post infrequently. Only our friend Rue St Michel and retired copper Paul Huebl (CrimeFile) maintain anything resembling a regular blogging schedule and the crookcountyasa blog is attempting to keep a schedule too.
Anyone know what happened to the Chic? Or any of the others? Pressure to shut down? No time? Lack of interest?

BurbCops is under fire too. They're still out there but have slowed down the posting due to massive paranoia. Let's see if they're next...they're definitely on the endangered list right now.
Chic grew up and got on with her life.....try it !
Have been doing this the last few months by myself and time is the ultimate factor.

Checkerboard sent me an email asking to put up a link, which I did. Then she sent me another one asking me to change the link to http://checkerboardchic1.blogspot.com and then I noticed her new URL is http://checkerboardchic2.blogspot.com
Who knows where she is out there in the blogosphere but I hope she reappears at some point.
Keep up the good work SCC. Blogging eats up alot of time but it is the ultimate expression of our First Amendment rights and it shows one thing: We can make a difference. Bloggers knocked down the Shamnesty BIll and helped unplug the Dubai Ports fiasco. It is the "new voice" of the People.
If blogging is a sign of immaturity, then I'm going to be an adolscent forever!

NO BOTTOM LINE NONE CAN KEEP UP WITH THE ONLY REAL BLOG OUT THERE SCC FOR LIFE!
SCC= SOME CRAZY COPPER! KEEP UP THE GREAT JOB WE HAVE THEM ON THE RUN AND SCARED OF THE TRUTH THE MOTTO STOLEN FROM FOX NEWS WILL BE "WE REPORT YOU DECIDE"!
SCC, patrol is the largest part of the Dept. That's where everyone starts and that's what it all fuckin' comes down to, "PATROL"...street cops...second city cops. SCC and its readers represent that more than any of those other blogs ever did. That's why you're still here, and that's why the others are gone.
The city should put together A Truck traffic unit. All the small departments have them, State police. HH had one officer that generated over 1 mil per yr on cications issued to just semi trucks.
