We've been wondering about something.
Why is it when someone is arrested, booked and charged, News Affairs can't get that CB (Central Booking) photo out to the media quick enough? Seriously, it's a matter of hours if some truly heinous crime is committed, an arrest is made, the ASA can't find an excuse not to charge the offender, and the criminal's mugshot is all over the news. It seems even quicker if the alleged offender is a CPD officer attached to SOS.
We've been reading in a few comments and in more than a few e-mails that the CB photos for the recent incident in 008 don't match the photographs that lawyer Terry Ekl is circulating to the media purporting to show a female who was allegedly beaten while handcuffed in the back of a squad car, suffering a broken nose and eye socket.
These photos ought to be out there. At the very least, it would provide a visual counterpoint to the one sided barrage of reporting that is being used to beat this Department to death with. If the only thing the public sees is Ekl's pictures, they have nothing to compare them against, and what's left of our image suffers as a result.
So we're just wondering if what is alleged in our comments has any basis in reality. Do the CB photos that seem to surface in every other case show any such injury? Or do they pretty much shoot Ekl's case to pieces?
PLEASE NOTE: We are not encouraging anyone to break any rules. The Department can and will log everyone who views these photos. It's possible they might even block the photos from viewing at some point. We are looking for opinions from people who may have happened to see both the media photos and the CB photos.

this city and dept has no balls nor will it ever have any balls. i cant count the number of times we could have stepped up to the plate and shut up all those news stations and newspapers, even without jeopardizing the investigation but the they refuse to, all along as the dept and all it's brothers and sisters in blue suffer from the bullshit. i cant wait to retire, i cant wait to leave this crime infested city. smoke and mirrors will always continue and have everybody fooled other than those men and woman who have hands on knowledge of what really goes on. Pardon my ignorance, what exactly are the rules regarding looking at pictures? I knew of a guy who was called down to IAD because he looked at the arrest report of one of the SOS guys. Whats the deal?

The photos the lawyer is showing are post surgery, from the alleged injuries. Internal damage was repaired.

You are reviewing reports to learn on how others do things right and how they do them wrong so you know what to do in your time on the job

CB photos of arrestees can only be released if the person was charged with a felony, according to NEws Affairs policy. No photo of a person charged with a misd. or a city ordinance can be released to the media. I am not sure what this woman was charged with, but if it was a misd. then no photo. Sometimes our own rules bite us in the ass, but believe me this rule if a good one, especially if a copper or a fireman or his/her family man gets picked up for a misd. would you want that photo out?? Think long term people sometimes the dept. does things for a reason you may not get now, but will make sense in the long run.

My purpose to look at any report is to learn how to correctly investigate and write reports. going through the academy you are shown reports to know how to do them correctly and to show people when mistakes are made. The same could be said for reviewing reports on the computer. Have you ever gone upstairs at any area to review reports? The dicks are happy to let you review them so that when it comes down to it you can help them out by being able to help them with the proper reports and what should and should not be included
Read away people, just do not make copies and pass them out to all your friends

I have no knowledge of what happened to OFC RG on that incident with the Female in 008, but I will tell you of a few incidents that he took care of while he was working on Beat 0812, he did the right thing, a true professional. I gave him the info and he did the job. He made me proud to be the police and know someone is taking care of my neighberhood. Beat 812. I know some do not give a shit about police hoods, but he does. I think someone should care about him. A good guy. Plus he gave service to this country as a Marine. I am a Army vet and have no problem giving a man his due. Do not judge this man on news PR. He needs to sleep well at night, because the public court of conception hates the Police. Do not assume he is guilty. I know what it is like to be hated cause you are doing the right thing. So show some support. I have never posted on this site before because I have worked inside the bowels of the illeged Department's think tank. But, F@@@it. This is a good kid and I pray, he is relieved of this pain any working copper has been put though. I hope my spelling is good enough to be posted. Like i have said, this is my first post.
