Thank You Veterans
Veterans Day.
From all of us here to all Veterans, living, deceased and yet to serve, thank you.
It's also about time to start getting Christmas cards together for the season. If you have a spare card or two, think about mailing one or two this direction:

UPDATE: Evidently, the address above is not accepting cards addressed as such. From the SNOPES.com website:
- The Walter Reed Army Medical Center is ONLY accepting phone cards, CDs, individual small packets of candy, things like that; which they will distribute among the soldiers (as they have a lot of in and out patients). They are not accepting Holiday Cards, as they don't have the human resources to distribute them.
You may send your packets to:

To all the Marines- HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! SEMPRE FI
Thank you for remembering the veterans SCC. I'm right ahead of you on the two addresses provided.
To my fellow veterans, thank you for your sacrifice and duty to our great Country.
Enjoy Veteran's Day and remember the men and women fighting over there to keep us safe over here.
God Bless You ALL!
thank you veterans
According to the Walter Reed Army Hospital website, they cannot accept mail and packages addressed to Any Service Person or similar and the Postal Service will not deliver them. It's a security measure put into place following the 9/11 attacks.

To every veteran, happy Veterans Day and thankyou. To all the draft dodging liberal hippy wannabees, FUCK YOU! Yeah I know, there is no draft but it sounds better that way.
God bless and keep our service men and women safe from harm. For those of you have served, thank you.
See Snopes.com link. They will not accept cards addressed to "Injured Soldier" at the hospitals for security reasons. Read through the snopes article for things that you can do.

Thank you to all of our military! To my Uncles that served over in Korea & Vietnam, and my friends in Desert Storm and... today.

Copied from the Walter Reed Web Site:
Walter Reed Army Medical Center officials want to remind those individuals who want to show their appreciation through mail to include packages, letters, and holiday cards addressed to 'Any Wounded Soldier' or 'A Recovering American Soldier' that Walter Reed cannot accept these packages in support of the decision by then Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Transportation Policy in 2001. This decision was made to ensure the safety and well being of patients and staff at medical centers throughout the Department of Defense.
In addition, the U.S. Postal Service is no longer accepting "Any Service Member" or "A Recovering American Soldier" letters or packages. Mail to "Any Service Member" that is deposited into a collection box will not be delivered.
Instead of sending an “Any Wounded Soldier” letter or package to Walter Reed, please consider making a donation to one of the more than 300 nonprofit organizations dedicated to helping our troops and their families listed on the "America Supports You" website, www.americasupportsyou.mil
Other organizations that offer means of showing your support for our troops or assist wounded servicemembers and their families include:
http://www.usocares.org/
http://www4.army.mil/ocpa/tooursoldiers/
http://www.redcross.org
For individuals without computer access, your local military installation, the local National Guard or military reserve unit in your area may offer the best alternative to show your support to our returning troops and their families. Walter Reed Army Medical Center will continue to receive process and deliver all mail that is addressed to a specific individual.
As Walter Reed continues to enhance the medical care and processes for our returning service members, it must also must keep our patients and staff members safe while following Department of Defense policy. The outpouring of encouragement from the general public, corporate America and civic groups throughout the past year has been incredible. Our Warriors in Transition are amazed at the thanks and support they receive from their countrymen.
Its a good idea to send cards to a recovering soldier but they will never recieve it. For safty purposes they will not let unidentified mail reach our soldiers. Could be contaminated by an asshole.
I would like to thank to of my uncles, one who passed away in May at 84 years of age. Went into the service at age 17 (lied about his age) to get away from a bad home life. Ended up fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. My other uncle, age 82 was a paratrooper who ended up in the Phillipines and survived with only two other members of his platoon for one month. He contracted malaria which occasionally flares up. For years, it was like pulling teeth to get them to even talk about it. Fine men who raised good families with no college education and ordinary jobs.
God bless them.
Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
thank you to all who make this day so enjoyable for my family and me by doing what needed to be done.
Thank you.
God Bless my two cousins who served in Vietnam they were brothers one did three tours. To my two uncles who served in WW2, in which one recevied double purple hearts. To all my friends who served in desert strom (CC)and to my current friends fighting the current battle for freedom (RW RT VW RJ) your sacrifice will never be forgotten. Two my girlfriends that volunteer to service BH TM

A big thank you to all who have served. You are appreciated more than you know.
SCC,
Since people can't send cards to Walter Reed Army Medical Center, I suggest the following, which I found on Ambulance Driver's website:
Operation Love From Home
Hope that helps.
Thank You Dad!!!!
A heartfelt debt of gratitude to all who served so selflessly in order to ensure or freedom...Thank you.
And to all the Marines who went that extra mile...Semper Fi!
Every Veteran of the US Armed Services gave the government a great, big blank check the day he or she enlisted.
Some got cashed, some didn't.
Just got done watching the GREAT RAID again on the AMC channel, what a great flic. A salute to the real CPT. Prince who led the raid, assisted by LT.COL.Mucci.They saved over 500 of our guys. And an ataboy to the actors(Franco & Bratt) who played them. Im sure in that shithole Hollywood they get flac when they play combat heros..
George Orwell's salute to the British soldier applies to all veterans and polce officers, as well.
"YOU SLEEP SAFE IN YOUR BEDS BECAUSE ROUGH MEN STAND READY IN THE NIGHT TO VIST VIOLENCE ON THOSE WHO WOULD DO YOU HARM"
Thanks for your service, GIs and officers.
2/502, 101st Airborne, Thua Thien Province, Vietnam - God Bless them all.
Thanks Dad, Rest in Peace.
There's an excellent program on the History channel called "Bad of Bloggers." It's about the troops over in harm's way and how they cope with the stresses of cambat via the internet. Powerful program if you get a chance to see it.
Thank you to all who served, both past and present. Freedom most certainly is not free.
To my FAVORITE Iraq VET L.Z.

God Bless all veterans. Every year on veterans day i follow a family tradition started by my grandfather(WW I) and continued by my father(WW II). I place a flag on their graves and find two other vets in the cemetary and place a flag on theirs as well. Today I honored PFC John McGrath, killed in action in in Europe in November, 1944. Thank you PFC McGrath and all our veterans. We owe you and can never repay you except to honor you.
A soldiers son and grandson.
