Pissed Off Brits

  • "A Summer of MADness?

"Motorists Against Detection, the vigilante anti-speed camera group have announced a summer of MADness which will see them target for destruction all speed cameras in the UK. It’s now going to be a period of zero tolerance against all speed cameras, said their campaigns director Capt Gatso. (((A remote descendant of General Ludd, I reckon.)))

"The group claims speed cameras are just money-making machines and they have given the authorities long enough to prove their worth. The first camera to fall in the summer campaign is in south east London on the A2 at the Sun in the Sands roundabout on-slip heading northbound towards the Blackwall Tunnel.

According to the article, the gang claims to have torched and otherwise destroyed over 1,000 cameras throughout Britain. No plans to open a stateside branch yet.

We need a chapter here right now against all of these red light camaras, in every intersection!

They serve NO purpose other to raise money, hiding behind safety!

The people will speak against these devices and throw out the politicians! Remember to VOTE!

It's just a matter of time before Daley falls over junk like this!

It is what the people want and NOT some politcal hack wants!

Politicians can be replaced people!

What about here? will the yuppies do it? daley will continue his tirade to keep taking from the shrinking "middle class" as he has always done! Until daley and his administration is put away in prison this city will continue to steal from people who work for a living, and give to low lifes and illegals as daley would state "simple as that"!

As the late great Eddie King once said when he sent a car to a scene of a burning auto:

"It ain't no bbq when they're dancing around the fire, bro!"

yeah, torch the cameras so daley can have yet another excuse to raise property taxes. Atleast the cameras generate SOME monies from outsiders (you know, like the asshole suburbanites who were posting the nonsense). I say put up more... hell, I dont eve hanve a car so put one on every corner!

I agree, lets torch them. Just the other day came to a quick short at a camera intersection and I could see the guy behind in a state of panic trying not to rear end me.

Best camera in the city-- Northwest Hwy and Harlem; N/B Harlem, Just north of the RR tracks. Just wait till some goof can't quite make it across the tracks and a train is coming. No one at the head of the line will move thru the intersection for fear of getting a ticket, goof on the tracks will get plowed by a train. Family will sue city (and rightly so). I certainly hope the cameras make enough money to cover their lawsuits.

Anybody notice that the speed camera's here in Chicago, go from green to red in a blink of an eye. No brief change from green to yellow then to red. bullshit! 5 second delay, yeah right, more like 1 second, if that.

Just paid my $90 ticket. Don't think you can outrun the yellow light, it changes too fast.

==================================

Any dumbfuck knows you look before you even think about crossing tracks in heavy traffic. If they get hit---their fault. Darwin proven again--survival of the fittest.

This would be a good TV news story, the Red Light Camera Scandal.

The yellow light does shorten when they put one in, it would be a good defense if your were to video the light sequence and compare it to other traffic lights without a camera.

Just think, when Daley wants more money, he does not have to cut our benefits, all he has to do is shorten the yellow lights.

While I respectfully agree with you, you and I won't get picked to be on the jury that awards the family Million$$$$ of our tax dollars, so dumbfuck's family WILL collect.

All well and good, but they are going through the red light-period. Some of us older folks remember when you could get a ticket for going though a yellow light. What's the diff. If its red you stop. If its yellow you stop. Violators pay the $90 and shut up.

If one could prove the yellow is shortened when a camera is put in, would one have a case against the city for getting rear-ended? Nah probably not. But on the same topic, what number do you call if you want the traffic lights timed properly? One reason people blast thru the red is they are just trying to get somewhere without getting EVERY red light on the street. Probability would say you get at least 1/2 red, 1/2 green, but on my way to work I think it's more like 80/20. Imagine if the lights on Michigan Ave were timed that way. Hey, did'nt Huberman have a plan to change the timing of lights in 'real time'? Whatever happened to that idea?
