Impersonators
Two Near Northwest Side men have been charged with impersonating police officers after they reportedly tried to pull over a motorist while driving a car that is the same make and model of some unmarked police cars.
Carmello Munoz and Aaron Barreto were arrested at 1:40 a.m. Saturday at Kostner and Armitage avenues after they were observed traveling south on Kostner in a black Ford Crown Victoria with a white hood, according to police News Affairs. The car also had an attached spotlight, which the two were using in an attempt to pull over another vehicle, police said.
The arresting officers were aware of a previously reported robbery in which the car used matched the Crown Victoria's description.
Aw, who are we kidding? CPD would burn this up like a free donut and coffee joint. We'd have all sorts of altar boys, honor students and reverends stacked up like firewood.

I agree, every working beat car should be allowed ONE a month; just
for extreme crimes: crimes against children;false accusations against POs,etc..
If we need a tutor on this subject,

Many of these cars are with fake cops are on the streets, I have noticed many on 811's beat everyone wants to act like their the "police"! Hey Leo coould you send some tac cars over to the westend of 008 as many gang punks are driving around easy pickins! Why does your tac Lt have a take home car when most of your tac cars are barely running junks? Did'nt your tac Lt get involved recently ar an incident at Tr's?

There are a lot of police impersonators in a building located at 3510 S. Michigan. They can be seen from time to time drinking Kool-aide, throwing paper air planes, and switching thumbs to stick up their assess.
CPD has about 13,000 of them.

cops should be in a recognizable uniform and squad car when they approach citizens so citziens know who they are.

Why do we continue bashing PO's working at 35th & Michigan? I really don't give a shit about this topic any more. I work the street on 3rd watch and have 16 years on the job. I choose to work a beat car and also my starting time. It works for me and my family. It is clear that we need sworn officers working inside doing whatever it is they do. I say bless them for what they do because I would never want to work inside and feel trapped. Those folks are in there doing some kind of work or else they would be back out in the street. My goal is to keep working until I am 55 with 25 years all on the street. I hope to be healthy when I retire in 9 years.
Turn the impersonator into a missing person....uh, I mean, invisible man. Stuff him in the trunk and toss him in the drink. No one will miss a punk ass gangbanger.....well, not for long anyway.
Impersonators! Shit people. Their is about 75% of those people that put that uniform on that impersonate being THE POLICE each and everyday. Gets me sick. Always has and unfortunately always will. I see the same 5-10% of coppers in prelims and trials each and everytime. The same few coppers in the interview rooms citywide processing arrests, the rest dogging jobs, avoiding conflicts and going the other way when a fellow copper is in need of help. fucking gets me sick. the new head guy needs to address the dog factor and low moral.

Maybe you are seeing the guys who don't mind testifying to fairy tales. Sorry but my word and my family's well being is worth much more than perjuring myself. You keep "working", so will I. Difference is that I KNOW that I'll retire when I choose, and never have to look over my shoulder for Iad, FBI or someone I put some work on.
I really wonder when "police work" became a euphemism for "means to an end". I play it straight, and I sleep fine at night.

You probably experience crime except what you see on cops. You should start slow by writing a mover and testify to a moving violation. ...so if your in an unmarked car and you see a car wanted you should wait for a marked car to pull it over? its not like they are covert cars, everyone knows you are the police even the little kids on the block.
