Hoffman Fires Inspector
Nice to see someone that hold his people to a standard. Any standard:
Mayor Daley’s corruption-fighting inspector general fired one of his own employees Friday, six days after the $77,784-a-year assistant chief investigator was arrested for shoplifting at a Chicago grocery.
Fourteen-year veteran investigator Tracy Buckley was charged Jan. 5 with misdemeanor theft after Whole Foods employees watched her walk out of a store at 6020 N. Cicero with $131.43 worth of unpaid items.
Before deciding Buckley’s fate, Inspector General David Hoffman said he conducted interviews, read reports and viewed tape recordings made by Whole Foods security cameras.
We can recall off the top of our heads at least two OPS investigators caught dirty (dope, shoplifting) and we know both kept their jobs. Same thing with at least one IAD police agent.

Bet she ends up with another similiar paying job with a private company doing business with the city.
Anyone have the feeling that a MAJOR--- "Fuckup" by Cline is soon getting rectified? Or is there going to be a continuation and more?

Is the I.G.'s office completely staffed by individuals hand picked by Hoffman?
Or were some to most of the staff hand picked by Hoffman's predecessors?
If the latter, who were said predecessors and who hand picked them?

it's too bad she isn't a CPD officer.I remember when one nitwit got caught shoplifting at K Mart out in the south burbs,she also fought with the security(suburban PO).After being given her 30 pending,somehow she gets back on the job??Not only that but she immediately became a police spokeswoman,always being quoted in the media??Couldn't have been all those after midnight visits to her house by a DC,could it?
She should have been fired and more developments from this will follow city workers...guaranteed.

You are correct. I believe the OPS investigator was accused of throwing his badge around and of putting some moves on a 17 year old boy... something like that.
I bet she gets her job back, or gets picked up by another department and paid a higher salary just like all the other clout pieces of shit that get caught dirty.
She makes 77K a year and she's stealing food? She could have gotten a lot more if she shopped at Dominicks...get a dominick's card lady! Whole foods is trendy and overpriced.
Buckely was on the IGO squad that arrested all those bribe takers. So, how does this affect their cases? How credible are her reports, testimony ect.?
I heard Hoffman is very tough on his own workers (not coppers), but all others. He expects alot, gets alot.
As far as coppers, he's got a usless relative of Stephanie Neeley, B. Neeley, just coasting along in there with his take home car.
You Go Hoffman! This is the 1st time I've posted on here, im not a copper, i work in a city dept, and was called in last year by one of hoffie's female investigators. She was great! Assured me, that Hoffman does get the job done fairly, wich was hard to believ then, but i see now. and she made me feel comfortable, she even made me laugh a few times. Hoffman got some good people. If you ever get called in, request to be interviewed by the little red head, she's fair, nice, and funny, and hot. She got my untouchabel boss fired! like i siad, you go hoffman! nice work, you got my respect

You've got a point. Considering the fact that the CPD has hired back exempts convicted of stalking (Guerrero), allowed numerous persons who piss hot keep their jobs (Trigg was the highest ranking dope addict), lets borderline rapists remain employed (Bremon, Herman), not to mention the multiple DUI offender (Radke) retire with honors, yeah, I'd say firing someone for shoplifting is a pretty low bar to set.
Are the IG staff drug tested???

HOw did Hoffman just up and fire her? I agree that if she did what she is alleged to have done then she should be terminated but where is the DUE PROCESS????
We don't want to set any precedence here. This is a very slippery slope and everyone should be afforded DUE PROCESS.
I am sure this case will end up in administrative review at the Cook County Circuit Court now and end up costing the taxpayers a butt load.
...speaking of DUI offenders...Karen M. of 010 who infamously fell off the wagon working special is still collecting a paycheck---even after letting her dog loose on the 8th dist. sergeant, What's up with that? (and what happened in court?)

One of Hoffmann's finest nearly put a target on my back as being a whistleblower. My job has been hell on earth ever since.
I was hoping the investigator that got busted was the one that interviewed me.
Word has it immediately after being fired by Hoffman, she was rehired by Huberman and begins collecting a check from the CTA @ 150g a year.

While he is looking the mayor shoul look into the fact that Michale Parcardi commissioner of streets and sans, the same person who destroyed the police fleet, is going to be the father of his clerical workers child, and is also keeping company with the mayor's chief of staff, why won't the press deal with that.
