Another Nice Bust

  • Police on the South Side early Sunday found more than $300,000 worth of cannabis during a traffic stop.

The stop happened on the 2500 block of South Lowe Avenue, near the Chinatown area, according to police News Affairs. During an investigation of the vehicle, officers found more than 50,000 grams of marijuana, with an estimated street value of about $300,000, police said.

Also found during the stop was a large amount of cash and a weapon.
Excellent job.

I have to say that I am a little disappointed in the arrest. Great pinch, but after I was done doing my push-ups as you guys were cuffing the offender, I noticed one officer(not naming names) pull a set of cuffs out of a open cuff case. I thought to myself this is where it all starts. Tommorow this will be the same officer wearing a crooked tie bar. Then from there it becomes a unshined boot. These are very important issues that need to be addressed, who cares about securing our pension when we have dirty shoe wearing rogue officers out there. Hopefully the Behavioral Intervention System can save this officer.

Speaking of nice busts...is it possible to fail the psyche evaluation for SWAT and be fired because of unfit brain-drain? Just curious. I don't think I did so well and am hoping they can't fire me as a result of my mental stigmatism.

It's just a slight twitch I developed over the years from working the westside. I'm sure it's nothing that a little prescription/medical marijuana can't fix. Is this bad? Does the department allow prescribed ciga-weed? HABU-hook a brutha up!

Apparently Gene-O Roy decided it was 009's caper and tried to take FULL CREDIT because it originated in Bridgeport. It was 021's district. More importantly, it was 021'a arrest!

I never heard of large marijuana seizures in (50,000) grams.

That would be the equivalent of 110 lbs. or fifty kilos.

Nice work.

Keep fighting over having the privilege to keep the prices of consumer desired products high enough to support the vast criminal networks, foreign and domestic, civilian and governmental, that's been sucking the economic blood from our veins and crushing our freedoms so effectively.

Be proud, be aggressive, be the good soldiers fighting the 'good' war on drugs.

Those profiting from your folly appreciate your efforts, sort of.

Without you, there would be no high-priced market for them to profit from.

Your efforts are the fuel that keeps the furnaces burning, heating up the whole nation, keeping us from likely ever being the Land of the Free that we tell ourselves we are.

And to think that the Brave are being used to support the Greedy, with the approval of the Gullible.

You spend your time posting anti drug war spam on a cop blog? You might want to bitch at the legislators, not the people enforcing the laws they make.

"....the people enforcing the laws they make.

1/16/2008 02:54:00 AM"

That's the point.

The makers of law don't have the balls to enforce the laws they make.

They hire people who do.

If the people who do have the balls to enforce the laws choose to enforce only those laws that honestly make sense, what can those who make the laws do about it?

Nothing.

As in not a damn thing.

Avoid enforcing prohibition laws and you'll enable increased production and availability, thus bringing down the price of those products in demand.

Those individuals who have no control over their use of these substances will go the way of the lab rats, using and abusing their drug of choice until they die. Those who come close enough to dying that they pull their heads out of their asses and choose to live, will, perhaps, still use some form of substance assistance, but not to the extreme that would kill them.

Alcoholics abound, some choosing to go the AAA way and some controlling their need for alcohol, managing to lead normal, for them, lives.

How many people are currently addicted to prescription drugs, their addictions 'managed' by their 'doctors' and/or 'psychiatrists'?

How many people are using prescription drugs so similar to, if not exactly the same as, those substances on the controlled and prohibited list?

How many people actually need the metabolic effects of these substances?

How many people regularly use these substances and do so as productive, unnoticed members of society?

Law enforcement officers see it all, including many things the lawmakers never see, nor want to see.

Freedom does require responsibility, the responsibility to cause no other person harm without 'good reason'.

It's the definition of 'good reason' that's been distorted and perverted, thus the dwindling of our freedoms, vanishing into oblivion.
