SWAT Shooting
Once again, without info being released and investigations continuing, another police shooting fades into mere background noise. We hadn't even heard of the SWAT call out for most of the day yesterday and when we did, it was just the vaguest reports. Even our normally robust comment section was dead and contained no nuggets of info for trolling reporters.
We never thought pulling Skeletor and the Orange One off of television would reduce the circus atmosphere present at most police shootings. We figured the media would just go hunt down "reverends" and babys' mommas for outrageous quotes to slam the police. It hasn't seemed to happen that way at all. We'll see once the spring/summer mayhem begins, but it's been a rather surprising winter as far as it goes.

Koodo's to the SWAT guys. Way To Go! Glad all the police officers are okay. Fuck the offender*
Just goes to show you how fucked up it is on the streets everyday for the CPD and the department NEVER backs em. I'm waiting for the news channels to take apart the real story and make into something its not.
Remember fella's. Do your job, back each other up, remember your training and go home at the end of your tour.
Keep up the good work with combating all those guns, drugs and gang bangers on these streets of Chi-town. They all go hand in hand with each other and dont let any boss of yours tell you any different. God Bless ya CPD SWAT. We all appreciate what youre doing. 10-4 out
From the comments (Tribune quote)
"An investigation will go into who's weapon that was and how it arrived at the scene, and we'll go through the entire process that led up to the shooting," Rosenzweig said.
Does this dumb bitch always have to imply that there is a question about the offender having their own weapon?
She said the same thing about the shooting of the honor student on 43rd street (or thereabout)
Sure, the "orange one" had his canned "fear for his/her life" statement, but at least that made sense.
A legit test, to get on.
A team mentality.
Performance based.
Another professional job, guys.
Glad SWAT is here.
Good job resisting the clout, who want to corrupt it, Lt. M
THE MEDIA DOES NOT INVESTIGATE MUCH ANYMORE. THE INTERNET HAS MADE THEM LAZY. IF THE DEPARTMENT DOESNT HAVE A NEWS CONFERENCE IT WOULD TAKE WEEKS BEFORE THE HAD ENUFF INFO TO REPORT.
THE BANGERS DONT CALL THE REVS.THEY ARE INFORMED BY THE NEWS.
THINK ABOUT IT ALL THESE OLD CASES ON THE NEWS DUE TO THE FACT COURT RECORDS ARE AVAILABLE WITH THE WHOLE STORE IN PRINT.

Good work by the SWAT team this morning on taking out the barricaded subject at the motel on Stony Island. He could have shot an officer. Also kudos to the first watch Area 2 detectives on the follow-up.

seems to be working. Good job SWAT.
A special thanks to the 2 SORT car guys who assisted in a threatening suicide call recently. They had the guy in cuffs and calm before we even arrived on scene. Thanks guys.
Did the late PHILMORE Wilkins pronounce his first name with a silent "R"??? Can baby's mama pick the names or what?
Another high school valedictorian and med school drop-out, I suspect. Probably "just getting his life together" for his fiftieth birthday.
Reminds me of the time I pulled over a dude named Roosevelt Rhodes in 011.
Don't even ask where the stop occurred.
Maybe Rozensweig (sp?) and Weis are going to be very welcome and beneficial additions to this Department. Wouldn't that just be some shit?

Great job swat! Hve you noticed since the girl took pver ipra they media is not getting as much info! Lets dump monique bond and camden now they were part of the problem not the solution! We do not need them anymore save a huge salary, car and fuel!
WHY didn't Rosenzweig mention in her brief remarks that the deceased fired several shots out of his room at the Police? One would think THAT was an important piece of information.
Great job my SWAT. I was on scene for the entire incident and was very impressed with how SWAT handled the situation. The offender shot at SWAT officers and they returned fire. He had above 7 to 8 holes in him center mass.
Typical!
Unlike the Trib and other media, the politically correct pussy Scum Times omitted the race of the shooter who fled after massacring FIVE innocent women at the Tinley Park shopping mall this morning.
For openers, the editor who called that omission should be tarred and feathered by terrified Southwest suburbanites.
Check this out:
You get more accurate news coverage of our local massacre in the Sydney (Australia) Morning Herald newspaper than the Sun Times.
See www.smh.com.au
So half way around the planet, you get a better description of the shooter than the tabloid in the very area where the murders occurred.
Tell me American "journalism" isn't irrevocably fucked up.
The media would not state the incident downtown two years ago where three persons were killed was racial either, even though the offender did not stop the blacks from leaving, only whites.
The same phrase is used world-wide by police forces and they never have any problems because of it...."We do not comment on ongoing police investigations. The matter will be fully investigated and the evidence not the media nor the politicians will direct the course of that investigation."
AZ Status report please!
How is sgt AZ(011) coping lately? Is retirement in his mind? Stay tuned!
In their final run of the Sunday Sun-Times, they finally included the race of the shooter from yesterday's massacre in Tinley Park.
