sorry to gloss over a previous post but the cozzi thing has got me sick to my stomach. the treachery of j-fed has been exposed as it has been revealed that he was the one who did this. at first he denied having any knowledge of this, but was later exposed as the one who pushed this thru. you couldn't leave well enough alone, you had to start shit. man you have opened a can of worms. when you come to my roll call i will have to be excused to take a dump. so will the other 30 or so guys that are there. you mess with the bull you get the horns-- you just started ww111.

O.T. - REGARDING SHITTY VEHICLES:

Start downing or calling for R-Service for every car you get into that has even the smallest thing wrong with it. Examples:
1- Brakes squeak/pull - unsafe vehicle
2- Seatbelt won't cinch/has slack in it - unsafe vehicle
3- Any emergency equipment that doesn't work - unsafe vehicle
4- Seat won't adjust - unsafe vehicle
5- Takedown/spotlight not operable - unsafe to do traffic stops with multiple occupants/officer safety issue
6- Little tread on tires - unsafe vehicle
7- Exhaust leak penetrating cabin of vehicle - unsafe vehicle

These are just a few of the many problems with a good percentage of squad cars off the top of my head. Refuse to operate a vehicle with even the slightest mechanical problem; it's not only hazardous to you and your partner, it may lead to a catastrophic mechanical failure resulting in accidents, injuries or death to a taxpaying member of the public, which in turn would potentially cost the city millions in litigation and settlements. Use your imagination, officers. Would you want your wife or children to be riding in these deathtraps? (OK, maybe some of us wouldn't mind our wife in one of these cars). All kidding aside, your boss(es) can't order you to drive or occupy an unsafe vehicle, so down every one you can. End result: more down time, less coppers on the street, and MAYBE a little more attention drawn to just one of the conditions in which the majority of us are forced to work. My personal record is 5 cars in one tour.

Looks like A/1 cleared another Saints v. LaRaza murder from the back of the yards hood. The only difference was that Det. Louie did not have a hand in this case. It was rumored that commander Roy requested him but he was off. Wonders never cease a case cleared without dumb and dumber. Would have been interesting to see him attempt to take over that case. Oh well, maybe next time slim.

Oh snap. Oh no he didn't

Charlton Heston died today: how bout a post just for him.

Here's a guy that was a true reformer. He marched w/Martin Luther King before it was "clooney",
I mean cool. He believed that blacks wern't treated right in this country and did something about it.
But ya dont hear nothing about that; he's been on the list since he stood up to the fat pig asner in the early 80s. When he took the NRA leader role, he was made in to Hitler.
Very sad day;a great American is gone. All you whore liberals were never fit to wipe that mans nose!
Unlike Chuck, your only reformers when it's safe! And f*k'u michael
moore, you fat slob, for coming into HIS house and disrespecting
him;but being a pig................

The story someone posted earlier about J Fed being named in a CR# is true.

Last weekend J Fed, Brust (sp) Skahill and others were in 003. They responded to a call of a man with a gun (domestic) who also fired a shot while the victim was calling 911. The offender was arrested as he tried to run out the back door and 2 guns recovered. Felony charges (convicted felon UUW) approved.

The Officers put J Fed etc, in the case report(not arrest report)as being on the scene. Great job!!

While all exempts were there on scene, the offender threatens to call OPS and have everyone fired. Everyone laughs!

Well guess what..........Momma, who let everyone in , gets a CR with a bunch of phony allegations. Because he's on the paper, J Fed is named as an accused.

Flash forward to this weekend......
J Fed at 003 midnight roll call. He now understands that people make false accusations against officers that are doing the right thing. He is now going to "rethink" their new policy of denying a promotion to anyone with an open CR.

Thank you 003 tact!!!!!!!!

MY FAVORITE WAS THE RED 1998 FORD UNMARKED POOL CAR THAT THE AREA HANDED ME THE KEYS FOR LAST YEAR.

I GOT IN, CAR WOULDN'T START, TRIED TO GET OUT ONLY TO FIND NO INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. BETTER YET, THE CAR ON THE RIGHT WAS PARKED SO CLOSE, EVEN MY 160 POUND NARROW ASS HAD TROUBLE CRAWLING OUT THE PASSENGER SIDE.

BIG LAUGHS FOR THE GARAGE STAFF LOOKING ON. MOTHER F. . KED THEM FOR A WHILE AND CAUGHT A RIDE BACK TO THE STATION.

TO ANY BOSSES OUT THERE IN CYBER-LAND... BE ADVISED, THIS ISN'T ALL THAT UNCOMMON A CONDITION ON THESE CARS WE TRY TO PROTECT THE CITY WITH EACH WATCH.

This is great advice, you are responsible for the car that you are operating. If something happens it will be you holding the bag of responsibility for the vehicles failure. Our fleet has been neglected ever since lover boy Picardi and his lackey Lou Gehrig Tatara took over motor maintenance. Now is the time to hold their feet to the fire and force them to either correctly fix and maintain the fleet or purchase new vehicles.

What about the districts with (3) commander's secretaries, (2) Tact Secretaries, (2) Crime Analysts, A P.O. Citation Clerk, A P.O. and civilian timekeeper, and 12- 14 C.A.P.S. officers. Aren't they ripe for the picking?

I think we should abolish the Cook County Public Defender's office. First it would save millions of tax payer dollars. 2. The PD's office, as government funded lawyers, competes with the private attorneys---it interferes with the free market system. These mopes would somehow come up with the funds to hire an attorney if you forced them to do so. Most mopes can be represented for a few hundred dollars.

Grandma or aunty would come up with the money to hire an attorney.

Just imagine if the governmnet set up department stores or anything else that the private, free market provides? Wal-Mart and Target would be hollowing bloody murder.

only problem is this: every other superintendent save one was also a PO at one time, and hopefully got a beef or two (if he worked) and the policy never changed back then. To the goof who DEFENDS Mauer (sic), what is wrong with you? I think you lost your marbles! Why do you put such energy into DEFENDING a goof who is gone, when his previous antics were a classic example of the old guard's feeling of entitlement?
The CPD was his limited-membership club to use and abuse for the likes of his buddies and the dollies. Fuck him.

And you think I am the same guy that belittled the former 1st Deputy Superintendent who was killed downtown? WRONG. WRONG. WRONG. I disagree with those posts wholeheartedly. And you are right, I didn't know him, but I know he was a policeman's policeman and I respected him. He helped us and didn't treat the CPD like a private club as Mauerer did. And again, fuck Mauerer.

Now, that piece of shit former First Deputy John Thomas is another story. He was a pompous, arrogant, piece of shit and he was no loss to CPD. On the personal side, he embarassed his wife and daughter with his foolish antics. Do you recall the 1st and the 16th?

And, I agree, there is nothing wrong with a drink now and then, even though J-DRY wants to take that away, too! And I don't hide in my basement waiting for dawn so I can go to my arobic (sic) class in my tu-tu, it is just a matter of comfort. I like being in my own basement, in my own tu-tu, and enjoying a drink at my own bar, before I watch my buns of steel tapes when it is dark outside! So! I am merely comfortable in my own private lair and it is nobody else's business how wild I get!

And admitting that you are friends with all those alcoholics and continually drink with them, I am sure your liver's countdown meter is in its last few minutes, so drink up quick, because you cannot live without your liver, asshole. But, on the other hand, you might not be too much of a professional drunk, else you would quality for membership in Jimmy "Fred Flintstone" Mauerer's round-table!

And exactly when did I compliment Weis? All he did was upturn the applecart of the status-quo, which I did heartily enjoy watching Grau take a royal fucking, but everything else he is doing is foolish and is daily evidence that he is a FED, not a Police Officer, in the truest sense of both titles, and he will never be a Police Officer. Unfortunately, until the day he flys out of town, he is in a position to royally screw over the CPD membership and he will, because, as a FED, he knows no other way to be. Hopefully, his contract countdown meter is loudly ticking!

But, that said, we do agree on one thing. You are an asshole.

New City law,
baseball bats can only be used in Cominskey Park or Wrigley Field and then under the watchful eye of heavily armed snipers that don't have firearms or real ammo cause we don't like that in Chicago. They are allowed to arm themselves with golf clubs.

"The Box Chevy Phantom says..."

Awwww, for shame! J-Feeb had his little feelings hurt when some of the asthmatic mutts put a c/r# on him? Is he going to call his fed buddies to investigate him on a possible civil rights violation?

Will he call F(L)OP for advice/council and have to leave a voice mail that is never returned? When the city moves to dicipline him in violation of his "so called contractual rights as a member of the so called bargaining unit," and he calls F(L)OP for help, will they say "if ya can't prove that, we ain't touchin' it?" Well, I've yet to have F(L)OP justify their existence to me anyway... that's why I pay the money to have a P.I. and a lawyer on retainer, once bitten - twice shy but that's another story.

Will J-Feeb try to take his chances on a "hearing" with the evil weevil deciding his fate? Will the evil weevil retaliate against J-Feeb for requesting a hearing by doubling or tripling a previous recommendation for suspension with no pay?

Will J-Feeb decay slowly at 376 for years or will the feds snatch him there or at home on the soon coming civil rights beef?

Oh wait, does he think he was somehow indemnified because he was acting under "color of law," i.e. "doing the right thing?" Did he think he was safe because he was %100 certain everything was done by the #'s? Or did he figure that our fine internal investigators and their superiors will exercise judicious reasoning and make a finding that based on their investigation the c/r# has no merit and is clearly falsely obtained? Did something happen and J-Feeb was somehow justified it's exonerated right? WRONG! Let's see if I remember what an investigator told me years ago, "we're told to not to exonerate anything no matter what the circumstances." Oh well... unfounded for now to be re-opened and sustained years later.

Oh wait, he's taking it under consideration to review the policy?

ROTFLMAO!!

Bravo Grand Crossing Tact!!! Putting his ass on the scene was heads up policing. Must have been someone with 15+ years who had their thinking cap on. Now J-Feeb might play it smart and not get involved in our work... even if he's sitting in his Tahoe down the street put him on the paper! Let's see what happens when he and his tag-a-long exempts find themselves getting jammed like a jelly roll like the no clout P.O's and they can't exercise his "federal prerogative."

I'll tell you this Mr. Brand New Superintendent... you sir are about to reap the flaming tornado of shit, sir. You will need to re-evaluate your strategy of change for changes sake on the backs of the 6500 or so officers WHO ACTUALLY ANSWER THE DAMN CALLS FOR SERVICE IN THIS GOD FORSAKEN CITY!!

WE SIR, ARE NOT THE PROBLEM! I cannot state this fact with any more crystal clarity than that.

The reality sir, is that policing is dangerous, dirty and viciously bloody business in this city and my reality is that my fellow officers and I respond to these calls to be THE POLICE damn you! Not social workers, not baby sitters, not nannies. We're not here to make chronic criminal failures in life or habitual bad choice makers feel good about themselves.

We are here to enforce the LAW and the LAW dictates that sometimes the POLICE have to knock people on their asses in furtherance of a peaceful and orderly society. The LAW is still relevant even though current liberal society has abdicated responsibility, self control and the exercise of common courtesy, decency and respect.

You sir, have lost the respect of the fine men & women of this Department. You have allowed yourself to be co-opted by the very people your cohorts in Federal service should be investigating out loud, not some poor slob blue shirt who lacks the resources to address the grevious double jeopardy you put him in.

The mayor (who has been really busy throwing the occasional mid level underling under the bus/ cooperating with the government just enough to protect himself, his son and his close associates) and various politicos along with the so called reverends (how about re-opening/reviewing some of their criminal misdeeds? association with street gangs, misuse of tax exempt status to further/protect criminal enterprises, tax evasion etc.)are worthy of investigation with maximum prejudice... but of course Chicago Police Officers have no rights that anyone is bound to respect.

Yes, deal harshly and swiftly with those who are little more than criminals in uniform... they dishonor the badge and uniform. Yet if the good citizens cry out for peace, let's also deal harshly and swiftly with those criminals and their sympathizers who hold entire communities hostage.

We have the right to live where we see fit to live, spend our hard earned salary where and how we see fit, we have the right to perform our duties according to the law without fear of malicious, false and slanderous prosecution and persecution.

Believe it or not Mr. brand new Superintendent, we sir, have the RIGHT and DUTY to defend our persons, each other, our homes, families and jobs from ANY and ALL threats whether you, the mayor, the media or the public like it or not.

To my fellow officers, proactive policing as those of us with 15+ years know of is dead, the citizenry wants report takers/customer service reps , a shoulder to cry on and a look of sympathy for their often times self inflicted plight... give them the rd# and VIN. Make your notifications, say thank you and drive away.

Don't be foolish... officer safety first and foremost, don't give the mayor, superintendent, exempts and politicians a chance to wipe false tears for bright lights at another Police Officer's funeral...EVER! We are only precious to GOD, our loved ones and each other. Don't put yourselves in financial jeopardy either, make sure that paper is tight, stop chasing #'s and heads for the bosses, it breeds "creative writing" and when it comes down to it, they'll get the credit and the blue shirts get shitted on really hard. Oh, and spend more time with the wife/hubby & kids...

Sorry for the rant SCC!

GOD Bless you to all the boys & girls who still roll, denied lunches, raps and all...

This is just a rumor, kind of. I talked to friends from 2 different South side districts. They said they have first hand knowledge that the Sup. and his posse, Tina Skahill, etc. are violating peoples "rights" and failing to complete the required paperwork when making street and traffic stops.

Supposedly they are making street stops without probable cause and then not doing contact cards. Making traffic stops and not filling out the appropriate traffic info. card. This is all stuff that could get a P.O. suspended or worse.

If this is true, it is scary. Here is a man supposedly holding everyone to high standards and violating rules, regs. and laws himself. I don't have a problem with the exempts doing or trying to do police work. I have a problem when they criticize the way we do it.

Since you are so worried about my health well my liver is OK along with everything else. I do stop for a drink about once ever 2-3 weeks. Learn to concern yourself with the gangbangers as as much as you do the roundtablers and you might learn something about police work instead of sitting in your basement in your tu-tu, smoldering.

While it may be less than scientific, local FOX TV took a poll in which the question was "Will stricter gun laws help curtail violence in Chicago?"

Ninety percent responded "NO".

Meanwhile, our moronic mayor gave the media a bizarre choice involving "love". He said we should love children, NOT love guns.

The damn fool. We don't love guns. But, damn it, we sure need them to defend ourselves against armed criminals.

Under analysis, Daley isn't even an intellectual lightweight. He is a simpleton, often incapable of rational thinking.

The next time Daley, Arne Duncan, Pfleger and the other revs start proposing "stricter gun laws", you can bet that they won't elaborate on precisely what they are proposing. They are clueless.

It's all political rhetoric and bullshit for consumption by weak minds.

Regarding the honor student slain by a baseball bat:

Where are Pfleger and the reverends when you need 'em? Babies gettin' battered and killed with baseball bats?! We must pass tougher laws! We must have a 14 day waiting period before you can legally obtain a Louisville Slugger! And we must mandate some sort of trigger-locks for these bats, so that even if our responsible parents choose to keep these weapons in their homes, there is a measure of prevention in place to protect our babies and honor students from accidentally discharging a baseball bat! These locks should probably also be oven-proof. We can wait no longer! We declare a protest march! What do we want? A bat-free city! When do we want it? Right after our lobotomy!

Not reallyt. Trust me, as a district beat Officer with 22 yrs, I greatly appreciate that a boss does that. It's sad, but most of these jackasses don't realize that the Officers that are out there humping on a beat car every day are just looking for a little recognition. It's a simple act but goes a long way towards boosting morale. Acknowledge the hard work that these Officers do day in and day out, and the bullshit they put up with, and they will respect you more than you can imagine. For a lot of us, that's all it takes.

Speeding

Pretty Good: Texas pulls oover a young man and says, "I've been waiting all day for this."
The young man's reply, "
Sorry, I got here as fast as I could."

GOOD: Madison, WI policeman had a perfect spot to watch for speeders, but wasn't getting many. Then he discovered the problem- a 12- year-old boy was standing up the road with a hand painted sign, which read "RADAR TRAP AHEAD". The officer also found the boy had an accomplice who was down the road with a sign reading "TIPS" and a bucket full of money. (And we used to just sell lemonade!)

BETTER: A motorist was mailed a picture of his car speeding through an automated radar post in La Crosse , WI . A $40 speeding ticket was included. Being cute, he sent the police department a picture of $40. The police responded with another mailed photo of handcuffs.

BEST: A Young woman was pulled over for speeding. A Wisconsin State Trooper walked to her car window, flipping open his ticket book, she said, "I bet you are going to sell me a ticket to the State Trooper's Ball. "He replied, " Wisconsin State Troopers don't have balls." There was a moment of silence. He then closed his book, got back in his patrol car and left.

Great boss John Meade> Wow, you are reaching way back but I totally agree with you. Not only a great boss but one of the nicest guys on the block. Not one ounce of ego. And never saw a cop with a problem that he didn't try to help.

In response to 4/06/2008 11:06:00 AM. I totally agree. Manpower shortage is such a joke. There is no manpower shortage. If there was than everyone that is detailed to the area gun teams/the area Sat teams/TRU/now the bike units/details to 35/michigan/details out to other units/5 P.O.'s on the desk/10 P.O.'s,1 Sgt , 1 Lt. to the CAPS office, etc., should be back on a beat/rapid/foot posts. I am tired of getting time denied and so forth because we are short on the watch. Here is a good one - why is there 4 P.O's from 015 on the a/5 sat team??? What a joke!!! Why is there about 10 P.O's detailed to 35/michigan for over 5 years??? Details should automatically become assignments after one year. Than the districts could have open bids and the true number of P.O.'s will be accounted for. This manpower shortage is fallacy. It only benefits clout babies.

BE SAFE!!

What difference does it make who is or who is not a good boss? We have no control over who becomes our boss. Even Daley has fixed the election so that he is always the "Boss". If you want to really see a change in command, get a new mayor! This is Daley town and everyone knows it! All of the command staff, by necessity, has a loyality to the man. Do you honestly think that one can be an exempt w/o Daley backing?
Get Real! Who are the best mayors out there? Oh, I forgot, we've really ony had father and son. And how is this nepotism any different from the family teams in the police dept?

Listening to the names of people you bash on here tells me one thing
you're a coward. If you want to throw peoples names out there and gossip about what they or their family may have or have not done put your name to it. Riordan, Thomas, Mauer and Grau have done more for the working police of this department than a sniveling coward like you could ever do. So go back to hiding in your basement you are an embarassment to the uniform.

Supposedly they are making street stops without probable cause and then not doing contact cards.

I get the point your trying to make, but, you don't need probable cause to stop someone, just reasonable suspicion.

If you have a problem with the cars you guys are driving....... bring it up to the Supt. he's the only one that can help you. Stop blaming the mechanic for doing what he's told to do. Remember everyone has a BOSS. We at fleet have plenty and do not like to deal with your bosses. CPD HQ think they are experts but lack every bit of knowledge when it comes to cars.

Tru is right, Mags is a collassal jag to everyone, if TRU was told that there is no more emphasis on arrests there, then there should be plenty of those one bag weed pinches for our tac-gang teams, now that they cleaned up the cigarette selling on 79th st. that is.

Mags is better then your boss and a better cop then you will ever be 2 year wonder

Yes which is exactly why EMMD should be put back under the control of the Police Department. We realize that the working stiff over at fleet isn't the problem, its the likes of lover boy Picardi and Lou Gerhig Tatara that are the problem. Why these two jag offs were allowed to take control of the police fleet defies comprehension. The solution to better equipment is to return control of our fleet and equipment back over to the Police Department.

* DUMP JOHN DOTY*

I can't beleive how one personality can change the tone of a district.

This goof political hack came to roll call and stated, "commander is the worst job he's ever had." Then resign stupid.

In one breath he state's the sergeants will be responsible for the troops, but he won't follow their recommendations.

A sergeant says counseling he says spar. We have had more people SPARRED here the last month then in the last 12 years I've been here. The guy is making $140,000 and all he is worried about is blue-tooths and crooked hats.

The morale is at an all time low here in 021. This pompous jerk refuses to approve honorable mentions because "that's are job anyway".

J-FRAUD GET RID OF THIS ASSHOLE!
