I was in a shooting several years ago and honest to goodness, when the Orange One should up, I have to admit it, I felt a lot better.

Chinatown Incident – This is my personal own opinion and facts as I see it. First, the facts as they are. Off Duty P.O. and friend (not the police) eating at a Chinese restaurant in the early hours was approached by 2-4 La Raza gang members at his table while eating and was told “pay for our bill and if you don’t I have a pistol” P.O. defended himself and did not immediately announce his office right away (why would you right away? this guy may have a gun and shoot you.) P.O. and offender had a verbal altercation, when P.O. was approached during this felony strong armed robbery he pulled his service weapon pointing it down in self-defense. Second, whether P.O. was intoxicated or not (which he was drinking) is still a victim of a violent felony crime period! Now the bosses made him blow! The logic doesn’t make sense, example: when a female citizen is drunk and raped are you telling me she is responsible. Do police officer’s serve to victims of crimes? J-Fed you and rat bosses have a double standards you are telling us that we now have to be victimized by gang members whether P.O’s are intoxicated or not, and we will be disciplined for defending ourselves and our families? This is just plain not acceptable. The P.O. was not stripped, he returned to work, and will be facing administrative discipline probably 30 days and who knows? The offender was charged with misdemeanor battery simple and the other underage intoxicated juvenile offender was charged with drinking and released.
So now to the piece of garbage FOP 7 that stated that no one has ever gotten in trouble for just drinking. We’ll here it is what do you have to say? He was just drinking and a victim of a felony strong arm robbery? Why was the offender’s not charged? There were witnesses as well that corroborated the victim’s story.
When police officers have more than 2 drinks in an hour, we have to hide in fear from gang members and violent felony offenders in our own neighborhood, homes and public places. This is just embarrassing that the Brass doesn’t even have the balls to do the right thing. All the brass and P.O.’s are taking this crap lying down so King Daley doesn’t get indicted with his 1.2 million dollar lap dog who will give him the heads up when the feds come!

OT- Does someone need to put a picture of 1611 on a milk carton? Friday night I was driving home with my kid in the car and there had to be 20-30 kids in the street at Palatine and Normandy. I am sure not all of them lived on the block. If you are just hanging out or playing ball, do it at Onahan or Tecla 1/2 a block away. I know this isn't the westside but put a stop to this shit now.
Fact it was not an Att. robbery, The Officer was pushed and the the attempted sucker punch missed. The only crime was a battery and the piece of garbage said the P.O. struck him in the head with his pistol. The bosses had no choice but to obtain the number. I was there and believe me they were not happy about it. Until the rules are changed the bosses hands are tied. IPRA was there before the deputy. This is the future we might as well stay home and lock the door if we want to have a drink or 2 and God forbid don't throw out the garbage because if you meet up with a garage burglar and arrest him, he will say you are drunk and you will take 30 days. This bullshit sucks.

I feel terrible for Pat, but Weis is a steamroller during this honeymoon period. He is near unstoppable for the moment, but there is a bright side. If they are bringing in a FED to replace Pat, Pat is collateral damage. They must be planning to take down Monique Bond, the police hater. It is good that she will be gone, but bad for us when Media Affairs is full of FEDS. Or, if you think about it, how much worse can they be than IPRA and Monique?

Second, most Det's are hardworking guys, but there are a few who will work a bullshit case forever (milking the overtime) and never accomplish much. I find it funny when you see multiple det's all working on a bullshit case (as OT) supposedly looking for someone and never finding them. Why is it that you always see the same guys milking the OT and they never charge anyone. I've talked to a couple supervisors who have complained about the same dicks over-and-over. Say what you will about Camden but he was a sight for sore eyes when a buddy was involved in a shooting. Though he only dressed from the waist up (Suit High, Sweats low) he handled everything and was very helpful. If what I hear about Bond is true, maybe proactivity is not the best policy. Shoot if I am going to inadvertantly be someones example guy so some asshat can be promoted!! 4 years and an end to work.
It still pisses me off to see the Dogs woofing it up but when I sit back and think about the day, they arent the ones worried about BS CR #'s/brutality/inattention to duty/ass handed to you in court over 5 min time difference or no inventory on a DOPW and everything else that comes with being the working POPO.

What about the drunk O.D.P.O. from Fugitive App. that smashed a bottle over a guys head at a wedding? He goes home but the copper from Chinatown gets screwed. Clout rules I guess.

Just based on circumstances present at an imaginary scene:
1. W/C arrives and does not find the basis for a PO to be inebriated
2. The unhappy citizen files a beef saying that yes indeed, the PO was safe, and, by the way, the W/C arrived on scene and didn't do anything.
3. W/C and P.O. are now the accused in the beef. How many bosses will put up with that? I know some who will, but I know a lot more who will not, and will just get the number if someone raises a stink at a scene.
I want to share with you a flip side of the Chinatown incident that I experienced.
I was visiting my family in the burbs and did not drive home due to questionable excessive pepsi consumption. My wife and I observed a vehicle lose control and crash into a marshy area on the side of the road ejecting the passenger and the driver was trapped in the vehicle because it flipped upside down. I told my wife to call the state as I ran to assist the motorist trapped in the vehicle. After breaking the windows and dragging the guy out with some other people on scene, I waited until fire arrived, slinked away into the shadows, and got outta dodge because I was concerned that I was going to get jammed up because of this stupid f*cking department.
I'm not saying what I did was heroic, deserving of an award, or recognition, just that we've reached a real sad point in this department when I could have jammed myself up just trying to help someone else when off duty. WTF!!
I know a rule is a rule, but come on. What a joke.

Did you think of calling 911? Do you know the size of beat 1611? Must the beat car be aware of every thing on the huge beat in addition to answering calls? Do you have any idea the amount of teen disturbances in 16? if you are that concern contact the new CAPS LT or transfer to 016. Now go watch COPS on TV.

The problem was the piece of shit arrestee made an allegation that the officer was drunk and hit him with his gun...there isn't much wiggle room with those allegations. the lt's involved did a good job getting witnesses and possible video, and Mcnulty was the street deputy so things were done correctly...
Regardless it still sucks!!!!!

Is this the same KK who got into a drunk off-duty disturbance with the owner of a mexican rest. on Elston in 017 (while uniformed officers were eating there). The same KK who was asked by the officers to leave (at the request of the owner who refused to serve her any more booze) and then fought with the male and female officers all the way out to a wagon. The same KK that kicked the Sgt (now Capt in 018 KA) in the face when he tried to talk some sense into her in the wagon so they could 19 paul it. The same KK who beefed that the officers used excessive force. The same KK who beat the simple battery charge even though the restaurant owner testified against her. SO F HER!!!
